Reincarnated in sekirei

( Yuuki's POV )

Like the rest of our odd journey, the road through the Giant Mountains was full of enemies but that was nothing we couldn't handle, although we did have to slow down our pace to match Millicent.

Upon reaching our destination I couldn't help but notice the similarities with the royal capital, a bright city although the place needed more cleaning, the city like a labyrinth surrounding the most important point, the giant tree in the center of the city, the Haligtree, I also didn't miss the similarity of this one with the Erdtree.

Luckily we didn't have to wander around much because Millicent knew exactly where to go although she wasn't quite sure why, We went deep into the city and moved among the roots of the Haligtree, when we started seeing traces of Scarlett Rot I sensed that we were getting closer to whatever it was we were looking for.

Millicent: We're here.

Passing by a Scarlett rot waterfall, we stopped in front of a small ditch of polluted water, Millicent became serious and, with few words, announced that we had arrived at our destination.

Millicent: I remember now, my purpose, my sisters' purpose, is to reach her, to be like her, that's why we exist.

Millicent threw some pronouns that went over me and she prepared her sword, from the pit came four redheads similar to her, I guess those were the sisters she just mentioned, Astraea and I also took our weapons but this was something important for Millicent so we had to hold back, but that didn't stop us from overwhelming them also every time a sister fell I collected their souls, the battle ended quickly with us on top but after her sisters fell Millicent fell too.

Millicent: In the end, we are all failures.

The Scarlett rot was taking over her body and the only thing that was preventing that was the golden needle.

Yuuki: The results of this fight seem to indicate that, but I can give you another path if you wish, although it is one with constant danger.

Millicent: I have no future but if you can change destiny, I will gladly give it all to you.

Yuuki: You better remember those words.

I made a deep cut in my palm and let a few drops of blood fall into her mouth, the healing capabilities of these were proven but Scarlett rot was a serious thing, while the healing was in the process her body began to convulse violently, the pain she should be feeling must be immense but she did not let out a cry, at one point she ripped off her prosthetic arm and a new arm grew in its place, at the end of that process her skin had regained its color and her hair was brighter and longer, her body looked healthier but she was very weak and had trouble breathing.

Yuuki: Rest, you will need your strength.

Millicent: Thank you... my lord.

With those words, she closed her eyes, and I placed her inside one of Thanatos' coffins and continued on my way.

After finishing Millicent's mission, we flew through the mountains to make up for lost time, but at one point, we were attacked by a huge rock flying in our direction, we dodged, and in the distance, I saw a giant with a red beard and one eye.

Melina: The fire giant, he is the guardian of the giant forge, we are getting closer.

I heard Melina's voice next to my ear, telling me that we were getting closer to our destination, and that was good but I had to correct her on something.

Yuuki: oh no dear, that's a Cyclops.

After dodging Astraea immediately counterattacked, she flew at high speed with her shield in front, the "giant" had some sort of giant plate he was using as a weapon and he raised that up to defend himself, when they collided the sheer power of Astraea pushed the giant back a bit, she then extended her sword with energy she cut his weapon in half and she followed that with another shield bash.

The giant lost his balance, and when he took a few steps back one of his legs suffered a nasty break that I could almost feel, but what he did next left me speechless and made Astraea freeze in confusion.

The giant ripped off his broken leg and raised it into the sky as a kind of offering, this caught flames, and he suffered a strange power up, his body was covered in flames, and a giant extra-large eye opened on his chest.

Yuuki: Well, I stand corrected, that's not Cyclops, I should never have doubted you.

Melina: ... Aren't you going to help her?

Yuuki: Not necessary, the battle has already been decided.

The giant gathered his power to create a huge fireball but Astraea did not back down, she raised her sword and gathered all her energy into it, Her way of fighting was simple and direct but that didn't make it any less effective, Astraea created a giant sword and with a swing she tried to cut the giant in half, she passed through the fireball easily but cutting his body proved to be a bit of a challenge but she just put more power into her attack and she overcame his resistance and cut him from head to toe.

Astraea smiled and raised her hand while making a victory sign, and then we moved to what the giant was protecting the giant's forge, the place was like a giant black cauldron, the place was completely extinguished, and that made me think that maybe we could have used the fire giant as a living lighter, what a waste.
