Chapter 140: SECOND INCIDENT - 06

...

Boss, without hesitation, reached into her coat pocket and pulled out a small white card with elegant silver lettering.

She handed it to Theo.

"If you ever think about joining a guild in the future, you can contact me through this..."

Theo looked at the card for a moment, showing little interest. For him to join or have any connection, even a fake one, with the Desolate Moon Guild was impossible, both because he didn't want to be part of a guild and because he didn't want to go to a place where he might encounter the narcissistic Jonghak.

Still, he picked it up between his fingers and examined it, turning it from side to side.

"Sure. I'll think about it carefully."

Boss quickly noticed the lack of interest in his eyes, but she didn't care much. What she really wanted was to have a connection with him, and Desolate Moon was just one of the many ways she could do that.

As if to prove that her interest was real.

"I guess this doesn't matter much to you, does it?"

Boss deactivated her recognition blocking item.

A subtle violet aura spread around Boss as she touched the thin necklace around her neck, deactivating the device.

At the same moment, the subtle features of her face adjusted, as if an invisible mask had fallen away.

And it was there, before him, that Theo saw the real Boss without having to use his magical eyes, and for a brief moment, he couldn't deny the cold beauty she exuded.

Her long, straight hair fell like silk over her shoulders. Dark strands shimmered with purple highlights in the pale afternoon light. Her obsidian gaze, piercing and cold, needed no words to command respect.

Her serious, penetrating gaze projected absolute confidence, her long eyelashes casting delicate shadows on her pale skin.

She slowly raised her arm, brushing some of her hair behind her ear in a gesture that, though simple, conveyed a dangerous grace.

It wasn't just her appearance that was amplified, but her clothes as well. Now, with the device deactivated, it was possible to see her in her traditional attire as presented in the Manhwa.

A black blazer, accompanied by a dark jacket with a tight white blouse, which completely revealed her beautiful curves.

She was serious, her lips pursed, her chin slightly raised, as if facing the whole world without backing down. And even without saying a word, her presence seemed to grow.

'Worthy of being described as an extremely beautiful woman...'

Theo remained firm, but couldn't help his eyes running over her contours for a second longer than necessary.

Yes, she was beautiful, very beautiful. Perhaps too beautiful for someone who ruled the most wanted criminal organization in the world.

And when she noticed the slight hesitation in his gaze, one corner of Boss's lips rose in a small, imperceptible smile.

After all, even the infamous white seat was still a woman, and women were proud.

"Boss, doing this is unfair. Using your beauty to win him over is against the rules. What if his girlfriend wants to beat you up?"

Jain's voice cut through the air like an arrow shot with pure sarcasm, bursting the dense atmosphere like a soap bubble.

Theo sighed audibly. Has this woman always been like this? He wondered mentally.

"Yuna..."

"What? I'm just concerned about our boss's physical integrity."

Jain took two steps forward, her hands raised in mock protest.

"Just imagine. You seduce the boy, and suddenly his girlfriend shows up... What if she's the type who smiles with a knife hidden behind her back? I'm just saying that beauty comes at a price, boss..."

Boss shot Jain a cold look.

"If I had known it would be like this, I would have left you behind and come alone."

Being with Jain was always a test for her brain cells, and this time it seemed worse than the other times.

Jain just smiled, seemingly immune to the deadly tension she herself was causing.

"Heh! So... I'm going ahead... I'll leave you two alone."

Jain turned on her heel to leave. She had realized that things were about to end.

"Take Cheok with you."

But Boss, with a great chance to take revenge on a rebellious employee, couldn't let it pass.

"What?"

Jain froze and looked at her in horror.

"I said to take him with you..."

Boss crossed her arms under her breasts and repeated the same words as before.

"But boss... I can't, he..."

Jain looked at Cheok's gigantic body sprawled on the floor, and with goosebumps all over her skin, she refused to carry him.

"Urg! No, there's no way I can do that. Look at this guy, and look at my muscles."

Jain, as if to reinforce her protest, stretched out one of her thin arms, making an exaggerated grimace.

"Yuna, it's either this or your missions scheduled for next week will be canceled."

Even with his calm temperament, Theo felt the corner of his mouth threaten to smile at the exchange between the two.

He never imagined that in his first official meeting with the dreaded Boss of the Chameleon Troupe, he would end up seeing such a scene.

A resentful Boss was kind of cute.

Yes, cute. She probably didn't even realize it, but every time Jain retorted with a desperate excuse, she smiled, not openly, but with a childlike gleam in her eyes, as if she had won a silent battle.

That woman, who led one of the most feared organizations in the world, smiling like a sulky teenager when she managed to get back at a subordinate.

It was ironic, and somewhat dangerously charming as well.

With a slight thought, a greenish light enveloped Cheok's body, and all his wounds, including his broken arm, began to heal, gradually returning to normal.

"That..."

Jain, who was begging Boss not to cancel her dubious missions (robbery missions), fell silent as soon as she noticed the green glow surrounding Cheok over Boss's shoulder.

Soon after her, it was Boss's turn, who quickly approached the big man's unconscious body.

"Since it was fun talking to you guys, I'll make your lives easier... In a minute, he'll be awake."

Theo put Boss's card in his pocket and lifted his smartwatch to show the time.

"Well... I think I'm done here. See you around."

Boss held his gaze for a few seconds, as if wanting to record every detail. Then he replied, his voice full of conviction.

"We'll see each other again, Theo. And next time, I want you to be prepared to give clearer answers."

Theo just smiled, nodding slightly. Without saying another word, he used his teleportation magic and disappeared.

Jain, standing next to Boss, dropped her friendly facade and asked:

"That boy could be a big problem in the future, Boss. Is it really right to place so much faith in someone as abnormal as him? What if that boy is just like him?"

Boss, however, did not take his eyes off the spot where Theo had disappeared. His lips curved into a cold, determined smile.

"Yes, of course he could... But he could also be the greatest opportunity we've ever had to kill the one who betrayed us. And that, Jain, is something I will make sure to believe, no matter how many times it takes."

And with the night breeze carrying the salt of the sea, Boss turned to help Jain, determined to do everything possible to fulfill her greatest desire...
