Xenovia turned her back to Kazuki and the others, and in the next moment, demonic wings unfurled from her shoulders with a leathery snap.

"I accepted Rias Gremory's offer to be reincarnated as a devil. From today, I'm also a member of her peerage. And I've been enrolled at Kuoh Academy. I'm a second-year, so we'll be classmates. I look forward to working with you."

Kazuki raised an eyebrow, his voice tinged with disbelief. "Peerage? And classmates? You?"

Xenovia shrugged, her tone casual yet edged with dry humor. "Yeah. She gave me the 'Knight' piece. Turns out Durandal was the only extraordinary thing about me. Only cost her one pawn."

Issei chimed in, scratching his head. "But you were a holy sword wielder for the Church. You're really okay with this?"

A wry smirk crossed Xenovia's lips. "Hmph. After learning there's no God left to serve… I half-lost my mind and took the deal. Though maybe accepting an invite from the sister of a Maou was reckless. Still…" She trailed off, muttering under her breath.

Kazuki leaned forward, cutting through her brooding. "Xenovia. What about Irina?"

Her expression darkened. Irina had been shattered by the truth of Heaven's silence—far more than Xenovia herself.

"She returned to Vatican headquarters with the core of the shattered Excaliburs and my [Excalibur Destruction]. Told me to pass on her regards… specifically to you." Xenovia shot Kazuki a pointed look.

"Will she be safe?" Kazuki pressed. "If the Church brands her a heretic for knowing the truth—"

"Unlikely. Her father is a member of the higher-ups of the church. Unlike an orphan like me, she's got connections. They'll protect their precious poster girl." Her voice dripped with bitter irony. 

"Though she did say she'd miss fighting alongside me. Next time we meet… we might be enemies."

A flicker of loneliness passed over Xenovia's face before the floor erupted in a crimson magic circle. "No. Maybe it won't be like that?"

Rias and Akeno materialized in a swirl of demonic energy, their presence commanding the room.

"President! Akeno-san! Welcome back!" Issei practically glowed, his earlier skepticism forgotten.

Rias nodded regally, her gaze sweeping the group. "We're home. Since everyone's here, let me formally introduce Xenovia as our new Knight. Please take care of her, everyone."

Xenovia crossed her arms, her voice firm. "Xenovia Quarta, Knight of the Gremory Peerage!! Please take care of me." 

Everyone nodded in response to Xenovia's greeting, though Kazuki's focus stayed locked on Rias. "What did you mean earlier, Rias? About Irina NOT becoming an enemy?"
