Reincarnated into a World Filled with Dungeons, But My Blessing Turned Out to Be the Most Challenging Dungeon

Chapter 25

“What… is this?”

Before me, a vast field stretched out, with a pasture covered in lush grass further beyond it.

Just earlier, after Eve said, “The [Field] has evolved into a Blessing, and the skill [Pasture] has manifested,” a change had occurred in the space.

A wall shifted backward, and the ground extended into a larger field. Beyond it, a grassy plain grew.

As for how large it was… it looked like it could fit two average-sized school gymnasiums inside.

I recognized the sight before me as reality and returned to my thoughts.

Generally speaking, while blessings can lead to skill manifestation, it’s impossible for a skill to branch into another skill. Skills are, after all, special abilities derived from the Blessing tree.

Considering that, Eve’s words must have been true. Thanks to [Field] leveling up to a Blessing, the [Pasture] skill had appeared.

I’ve heard that Blessings are abilities granted by gods to the human species after they surpass the age of 15, a gift out of sympathy for their frailty.

One hypothesis comes to mind: perhaps the Blessings Erik and I received are different.

If Blessings are linked to the soul, then within me, I carry both the memories of my past life and those of Erik.

Could it be that there are two souls within one body, each linked to a different Blessing?

“No…”

That doesn’t seem likely.

If that were the case, the Erik side of me should be resisting more. I’m certain of the 38 years of miserable life I lived. The soul of such a person has entered and is taking control of my body—it should result in a struggle.

But, I’m Erik and also my past self. I can recognize both. The memories are shared. My father, Rex, and Miranda—they’re all important to me.

Doesn’t that show that our consciousnesses are blending together?

Moreover, this is the long-awaited new world I’ve been reincarnated into. It’s better to focus on reasons I can accept, rather than getting caught up in such causes.

“Master. What should we do?”

Eve’s voice is unusually flustered. Perhaps she’s a bit anxious, or unsure.

Still, I replied without worrying.

“Well, it’s fine, isn’t it?”

What matters is not “Why did this happen?” but rather, “Now that this has happened, what will we do?”

Having reincarnated into this world, starting with a seemingly useless Blessing, I’ve managed to survive through cleverness, and it’s finally becoming enjoyable. Everything given to me is a gift from the heavens, so I should gratefully accept it.

“Eve.”

“Yes, Master.”

“Since the [Field] evolved, let’s go gather something to plant.”

“Phew… I’m pretty tired.”

After that, I spent the entire day running around the island.

Along the way, I came across exam students camping, and some were battling monsters, all having fun.

I was a bit envious, but there was something more pressing to do, so I left the scene before anyone noticed me.

“Potatoes, corn, carrots, tomatoes, parsley, shiitake mushrooms, and shishito peppers… we gathered a lot of stuff.”

Eve listed the day’s harvest.

“Let’s plant them right away.”

I said, then started planting the vegetables we had gathered. Normally, there would be the hassle of dealing with seeds, but when I asked Eve, she said, “It should be fine as is.”

“Alright, if I keep watering these every day, I should eventually harvest some delicious vegetables…”

As I was saying that, the ground suddenly began to shift. I instinctively stared at it.

Like something out of a time-lapse video of plants growing, the plants shot up, rapidly sprouting leaves. And just at the right moment, they began to form buds and fruits.

“It looks like they’re done. Tomatoes.”

The tomatoes had ripened into bright red, juicy fruits, glistening with freshness, looking incredibly delicious.

“Wait, isn’t this a bit too fast?”

I had expected some speed in growth due to the Blessing, but I didn’t think they would grow in mere minutes.

“The effect is to grow all plants at the fastest possible rate.”

The effect had leveled up too.

“Well, let’s try eating one.”

I plucked a tomato, and immediately, another one began to grow in its place.

“It seems that the plants stop growing while they’re still on the vine. Once you harvest what you need, you can leave them there, and they’ll continue to stay fresh and ripe.”

That’s incredibly convenient. There’s no need to worry about damaging the soil or dealing with unnecessary complications.

“This is really delicious…”

Fresh, juicy, with a deep flavor. It’s sweet, but also has a perfect balance.

“What’s wrong, Master?”

Eve asked, noticing my subtle reaction.

“Well, I was wondering if my level would go up or something,” I explained.

I had suspected it might be a hidden effect of the Blessing…

“It’s just a tomato. We’re planting vegetables, so nothing special should happen.”

I could hear Eve stifling a giggle. Based on previous experiences, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something unexpected might happen…

“Well, I suppose that’s true.”

I’d been overly suspicious. Being able to harvest immediately after planting is revolutionary enough. Plus, I don’t need to gather unnecessarily since the plants stay fresh as long as they aren’t picked.

When I thought about it, this wasn’t just a normal Blessing.

“Now we can have fresh vegetables whenever we want.”

I bit into the tomato and muttered, “Maybe starting a farm wouldn’t be such a bad idea.”
