Chapter 305: Future People (2)

Smooch, Smooch, Smooch.

What seemed like it would end with a light kiss quickly escalated as the future Seira pressed herself even closer, revealing a pent-up intensity.

Panting slightly but now with a semblance of composure, she moved her tongue as if giving in to her desire.

Shiron, who had shared kisses and bodies with many women, handled Seira’s blind flirtation without any awkwardness.

However, he found it difficult to fully enjoy the moment.

‘Sigh…’

The poignant feeling that came at the end of the passionate kiss.

Despite telling her to stop crying, despite telling her not to cry, it seemed that even a great mage couldn’t hold back such overwhelming emotions.

A glimmering thread extended from her mouth, and the future Seira wiped her dripping tears, managing a small smile.

“Sorry. Did I surprise you?”

“…No, just a bit startled. You’re not the only one who’s surprised me with a sudden kiss… I’m used to it now.”

“Ahaha. Seems like this Shiron is quite popular~”

The future Seira hinted as she glanced towards Seira and Yoru. Though she couldn’t see, Shiron felt as if she was giving them both a sidelong look.

“You already have two women around you… Is that Seira and Yoru over there?”

With a cheeky grin, Yoru frowned, glancing at herself.

‘Following him around like a lover, do I really look like a mistress?’

Yet, no matter how she looked, all she saw was her leather armor. Besides, how could a blind woman even judge appearances?

“Sorry, but it’s not just two. Lucia is fighting this world’s Lucia in the Arwen Highlands.”

“Oh… You even brought Lucia along?”

Surprised by Shiron’s words, Seira looked astonished. Of course, she couldn’t imagine Shiron and Lucia traveling together…

-You’re not the only one who’s surprised me with a sudden kiss… I’m used to it now.

…An unimaginable situation.

‘Used to it, huh?’

The future Seira mulled over their previous conversation, trembling slightly with a sudden chill.

‘No way… That couldn’t possibly be…’

“Hey, what’s wrong? You’re shaking like you’re sick.”

Although Shiron asked with concern, the future Seira seemed oblivious. Or rather, it was more accurate to say she couldn’t have heard him.

‘No way… That’s Lucia and Shiron? The same Lucia who despised Shiron to the point of killing him?’

As she lost her vision, her other senses heightened: smell, touch, taste, hearing, and mana sensitivity.

And, as one of the qualities of a great mage… imagination!

“….”

That imagination brought so many vivid images to her mind.

“Hey.”

The future Seira took a few steps closer and grabbed Shiron’s shoulder.

“Can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“You mentioned… kissing many women earlier, right?”

“That’s right.”

“…Then…”

Gulp— the sound of swallowing was loud.

“Did you… kiss Lucia too?”

“Yes. I kissed Siriel and Victor as well. Oh, and Siriel couldn’t come because she’s currently pregnant.”

Thump, thump, thump— Seira and Yoru could hear the heartbeat pounding in their ears.

Though she’d initiated a passionate kiss herself, she couldn’t understand why she felt so embarrassed now.

“I’m sorry…!”

Just as she thought that, the future Seira clung to Shiron with a look of distress. Feeling awkward, Shiron opened his mouth.

“Why are you suddenly acting like this? Don’t tell me you feel guilty for kissing a man with ties to someone else. If so, don’t worry. I may not know how the ‘other me’ is, but I have a rather open attitude towards fidelity.”

“It’s not that.”

“Then what is it?”

After a brief hesitation, Seira steeled herself and gripped her chest tightly.

“I mean… I suddenly kissed you, a younger man, after you’ve already been with all those young and beautiful women. Isn’t it only natural you’d feel disgusted?”

“Who says you’re old?! I’m not old!”

“It’s fine. I wasn’t bothered by it at all, so don’t be upset.”

Ignoring Seira’s flustered reaction, Shiron patted the future Seira on the back.

“Wow… wherever Shiron ends up, he grows up to be such a gentleman~”

“Hey! Don’t ignore me!”

“Mind if I pat your head? Could you bend down a bit, disciple?”

“I can tell you have a lot of feelings to express. Go ahead, pat away.”

“Stop ignoring me!”

While Seira shouted in frustration, Shiron once again brushed her off, bending down. Immediately, a warm sensation enveloped his face.

Apparently, ‘patting’ was just a pretense, as the future Seira pulled Shiron’s face close to her chest, enveloping him completely.

“Ah… this feels so nice.”

Not satisfied, she buried her face in the crown of his head and took a deep breath. It sounded like she was inhaling some sort of intoxicating aroma.

“Ugh! Get off now!”

Unable to bear it any longer, Seira wedged herself between them. The future Seira frowned slightly at the sudden interruption.

“Why are you interfering? We were having a great moment.”

“Great moment, my foot! You said you’d only pat his head! What’s with the sniffing and everything?”

“Seira Romer.”

The future Seira’s face turned serious. Surprised by the sudden change, Seira flinched.

“Why so serious all of a sudden?”

“I get it now. You and Shiron aren’t in a romantic relationship. You’re just allies, right? Like back when you traveled with Kyrie.”

“So what?”

“You know… the dead don’t come back.”

Whoosh— A breeze suddenly blew, rustling her ash-colored hair.

Perhaps because of the mention of death, a melancholy seemed to emanate from the air, a sense of heaviness. Seira gazed at the future Seira through narrowed eyes.

“The me over there seems quite cunning.”

“Oh, did I give that impression?”

The future Seira laughed, covering her mouth. She then took a few steps back, spinning gracefully.

“Well, what I wanted to say is, cherish him while you can. You never know; you might fall for him one day.”

“…Don’t worry, that’ll never happen.”

“Is that so?”

The future Seira tilted her head slightly, a sly smile forming on her lips.

“Well, if you say so, it must be true.”

“I’m telling you, it’s nothing.”

“By the way, disciple. What brings you here? Did you perhaps come to see me?”

Ignoring Seira, the future Seira cheerfully clung to Shiron’s side.

“Sorry, but that’s not it.”

Shiron felt the weight pressing against his arm as he continued walking towards the inside of the academy.

“Is anyone still at the academy?”

“No. Right now, this place is practically my hideout.”

“That makes things easier.”

Shiron opened the door to the largest building within the academy grounds.

[Great Hall]

The academy’s protective barrier was radiating from this spot.

“After obtaining the [Key] in the basement here, I’ll head straight to Mount Makal.”

“As expected of my disciple! From planning to execution, you’re flawless~”

Yoru, watching the two walk together closely, glanced back at Seira.

“Shouldn’t you go with them?”

“Ugh… wait a second, something’s coming up from inside… ugh!”

Seira held onto a tree, retching as she felt nausea welling up.

‘The dead not coming back is nonsense. Knowing Lucia’s true nature…’

Yoru had to spend quite a while patting Seira’s back.

Meanwhile, in the now devastated Arwen Highlands, no more thunderous sounds could be heard.

“So, you’re telling me that guy is your comrade?”

With a twitch of her red eyebrow, rage burned in her golden eyes. The murderous aura was intense enough to make the grass and trees wither, but the girl facing her seemed unaffected.

“That’s right! Shiron is my comrade! And… he’s… um, a very… reliable comrade!”

“Reliable, my foot. He left his comrade behind in a fight and just took off on his own.”

Future Lucia chewed on her jerky, counting the black sheets of paper in her hand. Half of the teleportation scrolls she’d hidden in her locker had disappeared. There was no need to wonder who took them.

“He goes around grabbing other people’s stuff without permission. Sure, it may be a different past, but a person’s true nature doesn’t change!”

“Hey, he left half of them! Isn’t that enough?”

Lucia patted the future Lucia on the back. After fighting for half a day, they had reached a stalemate. Perhaps because of the bond from the fight or simply because they were both Lucia Prient, they had become fast friends.

“I need to go to the bathroom. Can we stop fighting?”

“Me too. Bathroom…”

Of course, there had been a lot that led up to the stalemate, but that had only strengthened their friendship.

“And the jerky you’re eating, Shiron made it. Doesn’t that make up for it?”

“…Hearing that makes me want to spit it out.”

“If you don’t want it, give it to me!”

Lucia snatched the jerky pouch from future Lucia’s hand and hugged it close.

For some reason, the Lucia of this world harbored intense resentment toward Shiron. Not that it was hard to understand why.

From the few stories she’d overheard, the way Shiron Prient was described made him sound like a downright villain.

She herself would probably have hated Shiron if her emotions from fifteen years ago at Dawn Castle had developed further.

But even so, she couldn’t have the still-living Shiron killed.

‘I have to protect Shiron!’

With a sense of duty, Lucia sat down in front of the future Lucia.

“What? Do you have something to say?”

“No choice. I’ll tell you why Shiron is such a good person.”

“Then I guess I’ll have to tell you why Shiron is such a scoundrel.”

“Hey! The Shiron you know and the Shiron I know are two different people!”

Lucia held up two fingers in front of her. The future Lucia momentarily thought she was going to get hit, but her worry was unfounded.

“First! Shiron is a great cook.”

“…This Shiron never cooked anything.”

“Second! Shiron is smart.”

“He’s smart, alright. Always popping up in my way and causing trouble.”

“…Third! Shiron is handsome.”

“He looked like a foppish pretty boy. His smile was so slimy and annoying, I felt like smacking him. Just thinking about it makes me want to hit him again.”

“That’s it! The Shiron you know smiled that way. But the Shiron I know has a refreshing, easygoing smile.”

“….”

Future Lucia clicked her tongue, sticking out her lips in irritation. It was her habit when she couldn’t refute something despite her dissatisfaction.

‘Almost there…’

She was likely close to winning her over. Just a moment ago, even hearing the mere syllable of “Shi-” from Shiron’s name would make her furious.

‘I need to seal the deal.’

Lucia took a deep breath, looking determined, while future Lucia looked at her through half-closed, skeptical eyes.

“What’s this? Are you finished?”

“No, I have plenty more, but I’ll just tell you the most important thing.”

“…What is it?”

“Shiron makes me happy.”

“What do you mean by that? Makes you happy?”

Future Lucia tilted her head, puzzled by the abstract statement.

“How should I put it? What kind of happiness do you think exists between a man and a woman?”

Lucia’s face flushed slightly as she folded her arms, wearing a mildly smug expression.

A sense of foreboding crept over the future Lucia as she observed her shy demeanor.

…Surely not.

“Shiron is, um, very… good in bed.”

“….”

“A-And he gives lots of compliments, too!”

Lucia’s face turned bright red as she rattled off praises for Shiron. Future Lucia’s face was flushed as well, almost as if her head might explode.

‘What is this nonsense? Why bring up… sex and then compliments…’

A torrent of bewildering thoughts flooded her mind, but future Lucia didn’t take long to figure things out.

“You see, I usually refrain, you know? Then Shiron compliments me, saying my reactions are so good when he… um, when he takes me.”

Despite the embarrassing nature of her words, she cupped her flushed cheeks, yet her unrestrained mouth kept running.

“Oh, but he doesn’t overdo the compliments. Once, I got so happy that I wet myself while sitting on top of him, and he said he had to punish the little dog who couldn’t control herself~”

Ah, she would never forget that blissful moment. Lucia’s expression softened, as if recalling one of the happiest times of her life.
