Chapter 103: fear

Everyone on Mount Olympus gathered, creating a loud commotion, and the sight before them was shocking. Zeus stood injured and covered in dirt, with Antares and Hera smiling and chatting beside him. Zeus, however, wore a frown. Aphrodite, Dionysus, Ares, and Athena all arrived, feeling strange. The thunder they'd heard had suggested that Zeus was in a fight—even Hades in the Underworld had heard it.

Athena rushed over to Antares.

"Athena: Antares, what happened here? What happened to the great father?"

Antares wore an odd expression: "Actually, Zeus and I had a sparring match; he said he hadn't had a good fight in a long time."

Athena's eyes widened as she smacked the back of Antares's neck: "Are you insane? What were you thinking?"

Zeus intervened: "It's alright, Athena. And take good care of him."

Athena bowed her head: "Forgive me, great father, for not training him well enough."

Zeus looked slightly annoyed, but Hera placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Hera: Forgiveness is important, after all. Everyone must bear the consequences of their actions."

Zeus shuddered: "Fine, I hold no grudge against Antares. Now, get out of my sight!"

Athena took Antares and left, while the other gods merely listened. Just as they were about to speak, Zeus dismissed them, indicating he did not wish to talk.

In the garden, Athena took Antares aside to speak.

"Athena: Are you crazy, Antares? What do you think you're doing? You challenged Zeus and didn't even get hurt! Who… what are you?"

Antares: "I had to do it for Heracles. I have Hera's word."

Athena touched her forehead: "Never do such a thing again. I have no one else I can truly trust."

Antares smiled: "Don't worry. Other than the primeval gods, none of them can harm me now."

Athena's face fell: "Actually, I have some bad news. The Fates have been angry with you for years, and what you did now might just make them want to kill you. And Aphrodite might join them to attack you."

For the first time, Antares looked worried; the Fates were difficult to handle, and he knew he couldn't escape unharmed if he clashed with them.

"Antares: Don't worry, Athena. Trust your friend."

Though Athena trusted him, she couldn't help but feel uneasy.

1.5 Years Later

Since Antares became Athena's servant, 1.5 years had passed, and he was now almost 15. His power had already surpassed that of the Olympian gods. During this time, he had watched over Athena and Jason from a distance. Heracles had married and had a child, looking happy. It seemed Hera was keeping her word and leaving him in peace, altering his fate for a happy life. As for the Twelve Labors, the gods offered them to him as a choice rather than a compulsion, and Heracles was taking his time completing them.

Jason, meanwhile, had found new companions: Asclepius, Peleus, and Caenis, all traveling with him. Naturally, Aphrodite had taken a liking to Jason and, today, planned to use Eros's arrow to make Medea fall in love with him. Although she initially approached Jason herself, he refused, remembering his promise to Antares. Thus, she decided to use Medea instead.

Antares decided to visit Jason today, who was on his ship. He had obtained permission from Athena and suddenly appeared on board. Everyone reached for their weapons, and Jason, surprised, called out to his friends.

"Jason: Friends, lower your weapons. This is my best friend!"

"Caenis: So, this is the Antares you spoke of?"

Asclepius was stunned: "You're the legendary Antares who fought Artemis? In our camp, you're a legend!"

Atalanta clicked her tongue.

Antares, scratching the back of his head: "I'm embarrassed. And besides, I've fought Zeus too—Artemis is no longer a challenge."

Atalanta's eyes widened; she knew Antares wasn't one to lie.

Jason stood up and hugged Antares, then checked him over.

"Jason: If you're alive, then you must have won the fight."

Antares: "Of course! What did you think?"

Jason laughed: "As expected from my friend!"

Then Antares grew serious: "Jason, go find the Golden Fleece already, or your entire kingdom will have to deal with me."

Jason shivered: "Don't worry, I'm close."

Antares: "I have important news. Aphrodite might get involved, so I appeared today to warn you. Aphrodite will soon feel the wrath of a dragon."

Everyone on the ship felt a chill.

"Antares: It was good seeing you. Now, go find it, or I won't hold back."

Jason: "Leave it to me. Let's drink together in memory of the old days."

Everyone gathered around the table for drinks, with Antares joining them. Atalanta seemed down, while Peleus looked amazed to see someone like Antares.

Antares turned to Peleus: "You must be Peleus. How's your son Achilles?"

Peleus's eyes widened: "He's well, growing up with his mother."

Antares felt relieved, knowing Achilles's mother wasn't Thetis, but a peaceful life. Whenever she dreamed, she saw Antares, yet often felt a lingering dread.

Caenis whispered into Jason's ear.

"Caenis: That handsome guy is your friend? Set me up with him."

She'd fallen for Antares at first sight; after all, he was exceptionally handsome. Antares, currently standing at 1.95 meters, with long black hair, two dragon horns on his head, and striking red eyes, had a deadly charisma. Half of his muscular body was visible, as he wore only a pair of venom-black pants—imitating Heracles's style.

Hearing Caenis, Antares glanced at her and smiled before turning back to Jason.

"Antares: I'll see you later. I have some business with Aphrodite."

He teleported to Aphrodite's temple, finding her waiting on the bed as if expecting someone.

Seeing him, Aphrodite smiled, knowing he would come. She rose from the bed, throwing herself into his arms.

"Aphrodite: So, handsome, would you like to join me?"

Antares looked disgusted, grabbing her arm as his symbiote bound her, draining her energy.

Aphrodite smiled: "So, you're a rough one."

Antares punched her face.

"Antares: I know your plan, you… You were planning to use Hecate's student, Medea, right?"

Aphrodite dropped the pretense: "What's it to you, lizard? What do you know of love? That boy matters to me!"

Just as Antares was about to strike again, Ares and Apollo entered, having come to meet with Aphrodite. It seemed she'd summoned them, knowing Antares would show up.

Seeing Aphrodite with Antares, Ares was about to explode in rage.

"Ares: Explain yourself, Athena's servant!"

Apollo laughed: "I didn't know you had such unusual tastes, Antares."

Antares turned to Ares: "She was going to harm my friend. Care to taste my fist if you object?"

Apollo stayed silent, observing.

Ares grinned: "With pleasure!"

He lunged at Antares, punching his face. Antares barely budged, turning his head back to face him.

Ares was stunned: "Fuck…"

Antares let go of Aphrodite, striking Ares hard enough to slam him into the ground, shaking Olympus. Ares slowly got up.

"Ares: You're strong."

Then he summoned his twin chained weapons, the Blades of Chaos.

Antares smirked, drawing the All-Black Necrosword. Both charged at each other. Antares swung his sword, and though Ares dodged, he pierced Antares's side with a blade. But Antares grabbed Ares by the shoulder, stopping him from escaping, and sliced off his right arm.

Ares screamed: "Ahhhh, damn it, that hurts!"

Before he could recover, Antares pulled out the blade of chaos and drove it into Ares's stomach. Ares spat blood as Antares's symbiote absorbed his energy and even took his weapons.

Aphrodite rushed to Ares.

"Aphrodite: You monster! What did you do?"

"Antares: Give me Eros's arrow, and I'll heal him."

Without hesitation, she handed it over—she'd planned to use it on Medea, but her plan was now ruined.

Aphrodite: "Hurry up and heal him!"

A green light appeared in Antares's hand, restoring Ares, though he still felt the pain of the blow. Now, Antares had absorbed the energy of all 12 Olympian gods, planning to combine it with his own to regain his Scarlet King aura in this world.

Ares reached out to touch Aphrodite's face.

Apollo hadn't interfered from the beginning; after all, he had a good sense of Antares's strength and kept watching from the sidelines. Antares and Apollo then left, with Antares having achieved what he wanted.

They arrived in a garden filled with flowers.

Apollo: "I hope it was worth it, Antares."

Antares: "That bitch would have indirectly harmed my friend. I think I did well to stop her."

Apollo: "I support you."

Antares then clicked his tongue and disappeared.

1.5 Years Later

Heracles had completed his 12 Labors, and his legend spread throughout Greece. Jason found the Golden Fleece and became a king, and this time, their fates had truly changed—but the Sisters of Fates were not happy about it.

Today marked the end of Antares's servitude to Athena, and she seemed sad.

Athena: "So, you're no longer my servant. You're not going to leave me, are you?"

Antares smiled: "You helped Jason throughout his journey and also helped me. You are one of my best friends."

Athena smiled and removed Antares's leash. The leash held no real significance—it was merely a mark of his servitude to her.

Athena: "I hope we can still stay friends."

Antares: "Don't worry; we'll always be friends."

For the first time, Athena smiled sincerely.

But then, something unexpected happened. Antares suddenly disappeared, leaving Athena in shock. It was clear he hadn't teleported himself; it seemed he was forcibly taken.

The place Antares was transported to was vast, and he recognized it immediately.

The Fates had forcibly brought him to their temple.

His aura was being suppressed, and he struggled even to stand. Now, he knelt before the three goddesses.
