Chapter 24: Currency Exchange
'Hah, what a good haul!' Xu Feng's expression was stoic on the surface, but inwardly, he was dancing in joy.
The money might not have been much, given he had dealt with much more in the past. However, with his current state, earning such a wealth could only be dreamed of by many others.
He was confident in clearing the Scorched Caverns, mainly because of his diligence and unwavering attitude.
Having studied most of the completed dungeons and analyzing how players were able to achieve such feats, he was filled with an abundance of knowledge.
"I'm glad that I didn't waste that time for naught. Maybe I should give thanks to the Reaver Guild for forcing me to study all of them." He snickered coldly.
Had it not been for them threatening to remove his position if he couldn't deliver a detailed report of each dungeon, along with the shortcuts and loopholes, he might have been a helpless lamb now.
After all, who would bother to spend so much time analyzing and investigating multiple beginner dungeons that had long been cleared by others?
The rewards were ridiculous and terrible once a player had surpassed the initial stage of a beginner and had ventured into higher-level locations.
To summarize, it was no different than having a level 100 player investigating a level 1 dungeon. The level 100 player could easily one-shot every single mob with no problem even if they gave in zero effort.
'Sigh, no point in remembering those things yet. When the time is ripe, I'll make them suffer the worst punishment ever.' Xu Feng fixed his glasses and decided to relax himself.
Now that things had progressed to this stage, all he needed to do was wait for the person who bought the potions to begin to follow his method.
He wasn't worried about the possibility of being exposed later on. After all, the ones he sold were inferior quality potions, meaning the duration of effect was diminished tremendously.
Thus, it would be impossible for them to actually succeed by the time they reached the finale. He had calculated this and was despicable in his demeanor to ensure no one else but he could enjoy the fruit of success.
"I should probably log out for now," he murmured, feeling the need to upgrade his real-world lifestyle.
Although he believed in the game's privacy to protect players' identities, Xu Feng still wanted to have double insurance. Living in the school dorm when he no longer had any intention of contributing to the school was pointless.
Of course, the main reason was that he didn't wish to spend his money to continue to live in the dorm when he could live comfortably elsewhere.
Having made up his mind, Xu Feng first linked up his bank account with the Divine World System and opened up the Exchange of Currency interface.
After pondering for a while, he decided to start with 50 silver coins to exchange with real-world currency.
In hindsight, 50 silver coins are equivalent to around 50,000 dollars, but thanks to the sudden appearance of the Fire Resistance Potion and the apparent lack of funds that most players are encountering. Xu Feng could rake in more than just 50,000 dollars.
By purposely listing each silver coin to be worth 1,500 dollars, and a batch of 5 silver coins to be 6,500 dollars, he was going to trap them into believing they were making a bargain, saving themselves 1,000 dollars.
Once he confirmed everything was listed correctly, Xu Feng published it and a few seconds later, the batch of 5 silver coins were quickly sold out.
'As expected, those wealthy players have already assigned people to camp in the Exchange of Currency and ordered them to grab as much in-game currency as they can.' Xu Feng was not a bit surprised by the outcome.
In the past, when he was still a low member of the Reaver Guild, he was assigned to such a job as well.
Thus, he knew fairly well of their internal methods and the price they were willing to take out.
What he offered was barely the limit of what they would be willing to afford.
After all, no matter how wealthy one person is, they wouldn't be foolish enough to overpay for something. And even if there was this kind of foolish person, they probably wouldn't last long either in the Divine World.
Money was indeed an important asset to succeed in a game, but it was not the most crucial one. The most crucial one was how they could maneuver in the game and adapt to the unexpected situation to benefit them.
"Seems like the money is just rolling in constantly." Xu Feng mumbled, having turned off the notification sounds that were constantly popping up to inform him of the exchange being done.
Among the 50 silver coins listed, he had already sold 27 of them in a matter of minutes.
Only 2 silver coins were purchased individually whereas the rest of the 25 silver coins were purchased in batches.
In total, Xu Feng earned 35,500 dollars. An amount that was many times higher than his previous life savings.
Who said video games can't make money?
Look at him right now!
The money he just made could be someone else's salary for the year, and that too in a short span of time.
'Yep, it's time to get a smartwatch to make things easier.' Xu Feng nodded his head. The Divine World could be connected to his phone, allowing him to access things like the Game Forum, Auction Market, and private messages.
However, it was rather inconvenient to use a phone for such a matter when a smartwatch was superior.
The reason being so was that the specific smartwatches he wanted were designed to integrate with the Divine World game, providing a cohesive gaming experience.
By connecting his smartwatch to the game, he could enjoy enhanced functionality and smoother interactions, enhancing his overall gaming experience.
'Time to log out.' Xu Feng thought and exited out of the Divine World.
