Chapter 464: Descend
Upon the revelation of another underground layer, everyone felt gloomy rather than joyous.
"Are large-scale raids similar to this kind?" Carmen couldn't help but ask Xu Feng with a baffled tone.

Much to her relief though, Xu Feng shook his head in response. "No, not all large-scale raids are like this, but only the prominent ones."
"Prominent ones?"
"Mhmm, just like how there are different drop loot from monsters despite their similar difficulty, the loot rarity was dependent on the type of monster."
"So just like the Ironhide Behemoth and the Skyrazor Harbinger?" Carmen clasped her hands and exclaimed.
"Yep, just like those two that we had fought before." Xu Feng chuckled softly.
Sometime later, Xu Feng began to inspect the beneath and realized it didn't use any stairs for a player to descend, but rather wind currents.
Given the Divine World would continuously expand for the players once they reached a certain milestone, there would naturally be more gadgets available for them.
One of them was a common gadget known as a glider.
With a glider, one could easily jump off from a high place without the need to worry about taking fall damage or dying from it.
Of course, in their current state, nobody had a glider, but that didn't mean they were stuck and incapable of advancing forward.
"Do you feel the wind currents coming up once in a while?" Xu Feng turned to the group and asked. "What we'll do is jump down at the right time to land on the underground layer."
He then explained how the wind current was an autonomous feature, meaning it would constantly create wind current after a certain interval.
By calculating the interval time, one could determine when it was the correct time to jump down. That way, once they were about to land, the wind currents would lift them up, but they wouldn't use it to fly up. Instead, they would scoot to the side and land at an acceptable altitude.
"Um, what happens if we still miss the timing?" Veronica, with a slightly exhausted expression hanging on her face, raised a question.
Naturally, she was skeptical of her ability to manage the correct time and jump down.
"Don't worry, Lunar Wraith will hold on to you." Xu Feng responded and continued, "And if there happen to be some elites in my team that miss the jump and take fall damage. I'll just heal them while kindly reminding them from time to time about just how elite they are."
The atmosphere quickly turned solemn after Xu Feng's statement. His indirect meaning was equivalent to saying you're trash and would have your deed reminded constantly if they were to fail.
"I'll head down first." Iceheart offered to go first, clearly trying to prove a point.
Shortly after, Iceheart truly leaped down amidst everyone's gaze. As she began free-falling downward without the wind current, Iceheart's drop started to accelerate.
"She's going to make it right?" SilentWhisper's mouth was agape, her eyes fixated on Iceheart's fall. Just one miscalculation and she would have fallen flat straight down and taken massive damage.
However, that wasn't even the problem when it was about the horrifying feeling of jumping from a tall height without any safety gear.
Contrary to their fear, Iceheart's eyes were filled with determination.
'The wind current should be coming up now.' She gazed at the mechanism and noticed some wind stream churning.
Sure enough, before Iceheart completely fell down to the ground, the wind current emerged and sent her flying upward briefly.
Utilizing the wind current, Iceheart then got out of the wind current and did a 180-degree backflip before safely landing on the ground.
If she was a sports competitor participating in some gymnastics match, then her score would have been a perfect 10 out of 10.
Her expression remained to be cold, but a small grin could be seen on her face as she glanced upward.
Without a doubt, everyone was capable of discerning her gaze being directed at none other than Xu Feng.
As if he didn't spot the gaze, Xu Feng casually walked forward, dropping straight down. With zero fancy movement whatsoever, the wind current activated precisely just a millimeter off from him landing straight to the ground.
With the wind current that pushed him upward slightly, Xu Feng was capable of just striding off the wind current and landing slowly on the ground without much trouble. His movement might not have been fancy like Iceheart's, but without a doubt, his smooth mannerism was totally unmatched.
"Tsk," Iceheart clicked her tongue, clearly knowing she had lost this farce completely.
Amidst her frustration, she heard Xu Feng yawning slightly.
"An easy descending but forced to waste so much extra movement and stamina. One can really never underestimate an elite, right?" He muttered and moved slightly away from the wind current to wait for more to drop down.
Humiliated!
Iceheart pursed her lips and stepped briefly to the side as well, keeping a solemn expression.
She had thought a Cleric like Xu Feng wouldn't be able to keep up with her momentum and style, but her action backfired completely.
Time slowly passed by, and everyone managed to descend lower without any troubles.
"It's so dark here." Ardent Lance commented, finding his visibility to be at an all-time low.
"No worries, SilentWhisper can just use one of her illumination spells to brighten up the area." Xu Feng commanded.
SilentWhisper did as told, but regretted her action almost instantaneously.
Previously, the area was dark so they couldn't spot anything, but now that the area had been illuminated, she was able to see themselves surrounded by Stone Gargoyles with their menacing red eyes glowing.
"Ahhh!" SilentWhisper shrieked in horror as she didn't expect such a jumpscare. Not to mention her, even the others who didn't expect to be dropped in the center of the Stone Gargoyles were startled.
"No need to panic and don't move around randomly." Xu Feng's calm and collected tone resounded them once again.
"They are Cursed Gargoyles and unless we're within their activation range, they would remain perfectly still like stone."
