Chapter 325
Heavenly Realm
“No way!”
Namgung Myeong generated a vibrant defensive barrier using the Royal Sword Technique, but Jin So-cheong leaped right through it as if it were nothing. It felt like being torn apart, but Jin So-cheong spread his Three Steps again, effortlessly evading all of Namgung Myeong’s attacks.
In a desperation move, Namgung Myeong lashed out once more, yet Jin So-cheong matched his speed, feeding off Namgung Myeong’s attempts like a seasoned pro. The intensity in Jin So-cheong’s eyes sharpened like a tiger’s as he spotted Namgung Myeong’s futile attack.
Puhak!
“Gaaah!”
Exactly three seconds!
Jin So-cheong used that precious time to slip through Namgung Myeong’s defences and sprang forward, delivering a fist straight to the Sword King’s face. The nearby guards, having already been smacked by Jin So-cheong’s fists, fainted on the spot.
Staggering from the blow, Namgung Myeong bled from his nose as Jin So-cheong seized him by the collar and tossed him against a pillar.
Gwoong!
“Huff…!”
As Namgung Myeong’s head slammed into the pillar, causing his lower body to buckle, Jin So-cheong leisurely approached and raised his hand once more to slap him.
Slap!
“Why raise your child like that?”
“W-what…?”
“You’re not just a bad parent; you’re a dog of a father, breeding a dog of a son!”
Puhak!
When Jin So-cheong’s fist slammed into Namgung Myeong’s abdomen, his eyes bulged wide with shock.
“Huff!”
Puhak!
“Graaah!”
Namgung Myeong continued shrieking in agony as he was relentlessly pummeled by Jin So-cheong. A top-tier martial artist, yet he was evident in his desperate attempts to escape from Jin So-cheong’s clutches. It was clear he was trying to unleash all his techniques and skills to break free, but Jin So-cheong seemed to perceive every single one of those attacks, dodging them with ease. This beating encapsulated the peak level of martial arts.
Yanking Namgung Myeong up by the tattered collar, Jin So-cheong growled, his eyes flashing with sincere rage.
“Why are you so cruel to the weak?”
Namgung Myeong mumbled weakly, “S-So-cheong… why are you doing this… your master and I… we’re friends…”
“Friends? My master wouldn’t associate with a scumbag like you, so don’t worry.”
“N-no…”
“Take this!”
With that, Jin So-cheong resumed delivering punches to Namgung Myeong with no hesitation, focusing solely on the beating without any lingering words.
Puhak!
The silent beating continued. As Namgung Myeong bled out and went unconscious, Jin So-cheong injected energy back into him through his blood vessels and mercilessly kept pummeling him, resembling a furious demon.
Thump!
Thump!
I stood back, dumbfounded, putting my knife back into its sheath. I surveyed the scene, realizing that only Jin So-cheong and I were left standing. The surrounding warriors from the Namgung Clan were all knocked out cold. It seemed like there was no sign of reinforcements arriving either.
“……”
It was hard to believe, but it was the reality.
Jin So-cheong had decimated the Namgung Clan bare-handed without even using his spear.
I hurriedly told Jin So-cheong to stop.
“You’re going too far. You might kill him.”
“Ah, sorry. I got a bit too excited there.”
Jin So-cheong tossed Namgung Myeong aside like a piece of straw. It appeared he’d need quite some time to regain consciousness from that state. I felt the urge to comment but decided to put it aside; capturing Namgung Myeong could be useful in many ways.
“Let’s go rescue the women.”
We entered deeper into the Namgung Clan’s inner chamber. There, a mix of guards and women were surprised to see us. Among them stood a stunning woman in her twenties, pointing a sword at us, raising her voice sharply.
“Who are you to invade the family estate?!”
Jin So-cheong glanced at her and replied,
“Namgung Min, the Young Master.”
“J-Jin So-cheong?”
The woman known as Namgung Min seemed astonished. After a moment, she gathered her composure and said,
“My father and the elders went out to repel outsiders. You can’t be…?”
“Yes, I subdued them.”
“Ahh!”
The Namgung Clan members surrounding her murmured loudly. The older women fidgeted nervously, and those with weaker martial arts looked terrified. Jin So-cheong glared coldly at Namgung Min and said,
“Today, no one has died yet. But if I find anyone assisting in wicked deeds, I, Jin So-cheong, will not let that slide!”
“What do you mean by wicked? The family has never acted dishonorably in the martial world!”
“Is that what you think? However, you’re unaware that the Namgung Clan’s crimes have reached a level that even heaven cannot overlook.”
Calmly, Jin So-cheong glanced at me and signaled.
“Baek Woong, let’s go. These people know nothing.”
“Hmm.”
I let out a low sound.
‘It would be more annoying to pretend they don’t know about Namgung Hwan’s actions, after all.’
Perhaps Jin So-cheong believed that yelling at those unsuspecting clan members would be pointless. Most likely, only the higher-ups like Namgung Hwan or the Eight Swords of Namgung were aware of the situation; information likely hadn’t trickled down to the rest. Thus, arguing would be meaningless.
Moving together with Jin So-cheong, we infiltrated the innermost section of the Namgung Clan. There stood seven splendid structures belonging to Namgung Hwan, the Young Master. Based on the information we obtained from the torturing, we entered the inner four-story building and activated the mechanism to open a secret door.
Krugugugug…
As we stepped inside the mechanism, a few warriors were startled and lunged at us.
“Who are you?”
“Kill them!”
Immediately pulling out their weapons, they bore the distinct style of the Namgung Clan. Watching this happen, Jin So-cheong’s expression darkened, seemingly rising in fury as he unleashed his fists into the mouths of the three men.
Puhak!
Their front teeth flew out in a gruesome spectacle.
“Ugh…”
“Gah!”
A brutal move, even from the perspective of a martial artist, but Jin So-cheong didn’t kill them—merely showing mercy since they’d likely enjoyed abusing the women.
Seizing one of the bleeding men by the collar, he deliberately left his teeth intact.
“Where are the women? Are they unharmed?”
“Huff… uh… that’s…”
“Namgung Hwan is in our hands. Your lives depend on me.”
“Geh!”
The man trembled in fear.
“They are inside. They’ve been kept well in case the Young Master returns.”
“Twenty-five in total, correct?”
“W-well…”
“Speak.”
The man gulped down nervously.
“One defiant girl… we had to… dispose of three…”
“Dispose?”
“Uh, that is…”
Crack!
Jin So-cheong snapped all four of the man’s fingers in an instant. His left hand became a bloody mess, and the immense pain caused him to faint without even screaming. Jin So-cheong gritted his teeth.
“Baek Woong…”
“Understood. We’ll even keep these guys alive.”
Simply killing them would be too easy. I decided we could use these men later as objects of frustration. As Jin So-cheong and I pressed on deeper into the mechanism, we finally uncovered the appalling scene of the women confined.
“……!!”
The women were completely naked and had been “managed” like beasts. In one corner of the storage room, racks of various outfits were laid out, seemingly tailored to satisfy sick desires. In many corners, instruments for depraved fetishes were scattered about. The women lay lifelessly like dead fish, their eyes vacant, strewn about a cage set up for beasts. Filth and the stench of decay wafted in the air, revealing the inhumane treatment they had endured.
What hardened my features was the “disposal” site—an isolated area behind the building that housed a cremation facility. The sight of bones strewn about was sheer horror. How could humans do such things?
I felt my teeth grind with anger.
‘If Namgung Hwan returned alive to the Namgung Clan, he would’ve engaged in such atrocities for decades.’
He was also responsible for leaking information about Moyong Yeon and her situation. His confession revealed that unlike other minor clans’ women, Moyong Yeon had stood high and mighty, rejecting his advances with ease.
Thus, he orchestrated a situation that forced her into a corner, crafting a scenario where he could manipulate her body and heart. However, factions within the clan that disliked Namgung Hwan had bribed the Sky Team, delaying any interventions, nearly leading to his demise.
It was filthy. I had just begun to grasp what it meant to be insidious.
Shaking off the gross feeling, Jin So-cheong looked up toward the sky and said,
“Baek Woong, allow me one more unreasonable request.”
“Is it about obliterating the Namgung Clan?”
I replied quizzically as Jin So-cheong cast his gaze upon me. I leaned back, folding my arms, and replied,
“If that’s the case, count me in!”
Overjoyed, Jin So-cheong trembled in excitement.
“Thank you.”
These kinds of beings could never be forgiven.
Together, Jin So-cheong and I rescued the women one by one, providing them with the garments I had prepared inside my pouch. We emerged through the front of the Namgung Clan, and the members there gasped in astonishment.
“No…!”
“Who are those women?”
Sensing the timing, I retrieved both Namgung Hwan and Namgung Myeong from the pouch, both in a near-death state. The sight left the Namgung Clan members in shock.
“Lord! Young Master!”
“Those bastards…!!”
Disregarding their fury, I shouted with authority,
“Silence! These are the trash who’ve forgotten their humanity! The proof lies here with these abused women!”
“W-What?!”
Namgung Min stammered, struggling to find words. I grabbed Namgung Hwan‘s collar and pushed him forward.
“This Namgung Hwan kidnapped the women of minor clans to satisfy his lust and imprisoned them here for years. These women are witnesses, and so are the wicked subordinates keeping watch.”
“Ahh…!!”
When I cast the subordinates down, gasps erupted among the crowd; it seemed they recognized the faces of these men too. As the rumbling whispers grew louder, I raised my voice even more,
“Even though he is the Young Master of the Namgung Clan, could he have been carrying out these actions alone? Surely Namgung Myeong and the Eight Swords were aware of it!”
“……”
Gradually, the Eight Swords of Namgung, who had come back, now supported one another, their faces stone-cold as they regained their senses. One elder with a long white beard blurted out in a furious tone,
“I don’t know! Such women are unknown to us! Don’t bring strange harlots to frame the Young Master!”
“What?”
“They are unknown to us! Neither the lord nor the Young Master has done such despicable acts! How dare you barge into our family estate and attempt to slander our honor!?”
“……”
The women standing behind me all registered their anger, and one of the beauty among them cried out bitterly,
“Don’t make me laugh! You and Namgung’s family are likely in cahoots! You’ve tormented us in every way imaginable and can still shamelessly speak?!”
It seemed the Eight Swords of Namgung and Namgung Myeong had previously visited that place.
“Who’s going to behead that harlot?”
Puhak!
As one elder of the Eight Swords raged, Jin So-cheong swiftly drew a dagger and threw it. The knife flew with unbelievable speed, burying itself in the man’s forehead. A peak master fell in an instant, and the atmosphere amongst the crowd grew chill.
“Anyone can make mistakes.”
Jin So-cheong let his gaze sweep over the throng.
“But you’ve not only rejected your faults but also insulted the victims. If we hadn’t intervened, this crime would’ve remained hidden, allowing further abuse and humiliation to continue. Such conduct is inexcusable for martial artists, and more so, indescribable for human beings.”
After taking a deep breath, Jin So-cheong suddenly brandished his spear. It was the first time he had drawn it since breaching the Namgung Clan.
Schwa!
Like a flash, Jin So-cheong shot into the sky and moments later, unleashed a devastating spear strike into the ground. The sheer force crushed the earth, creating ripples that stretched for over twenty paces. As he hung in the air, unleashing chaos with his final move, he landed, leaving a thunderous impact.
Boom!
Without needing to look, I understood the meaning of that formidable strike.
Non-Humans
The Namgung Clan was deemed beneath humanity.
Though some peak masters stood in support, realization dawned on their faces, yet they were powerless to intervene because Jin So-cheong had the ability to eradicate all present in an instant.
“You are unworthy of being called human (非人)!”
“W-What do you mean…?”
“From this day forth, if anyone from the Namgung Clan dares to act in the system of Namgung or wander the martial world, I will hunt them down mercilessly. Abandon your surname and leave this land!”
“Don’t be ridiculous! That’s not possible!!”
The members of the Namgung Clan screamed in outrage, but I, watching intently, could no longer contain my irritation.
“I’ll count to ten! Anyone still standing here by then will be dealt with!”
“Gah!”
“Ten… nine… eight…!!”
Crash!
Amidst the ongoing count, the crowd bolted from the room in panic. It was like thunder had struck them, and their instinct for survival kicked in. As I reached the final count, I confirmed that no one remained inside the hall.
“Jin So-cheong, I can’t promise I’ll do this for you again next time.”
We had partially decimated the Namgung Clan. A bit more attention and they would fall completely, but that wasn’t part of my immediate goals. Engaging with gigantic entities, gods, and ancient rulers didn’t allow me to deal with every bit of their wickedness along the way.
Jin So-cheong let out a sigh, gazing at the sky, as if understanding the deeper meanings of my words.
“I know. I merely aimed to steady my heart.”
“Is everything sorted out?”
“Yes, Indeed. From now on, I’ll proceed without hesitation to assist you forward, no matter what lies at the end of this path!”
I felt a sense of pride swelling within me.
“Got it.”
I was certain now.
Jin So-cheong would never betray me again.
