REM0TE

Chapter 8: CH 7 - professor

As they drove , Kai turned to Taylor with a questioning expression. "Can we really trust this guy?" he asked.

Taylor nodded, a confident smile on her face. "Yeah, we can. He's my friend, and he's a professor. He has a possibility of knowing something about the powers of the remote control."

Kai raised an eyebrow. "A professor? What does he teach?"

Taylor chuckled. "He teaches ancient history and mythology. He's an expert in the field, and he's been studying the supernatural for years."

Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "The supernatural? You mean like ghosts and demons?"

Taylor nodded. "Yes, exactly. He's written several books on the subject, and he's well-respected in the academic community."

Kai thought about this for a moment. He wasn't sure if he believed in the supernatural, but he was willing to keep an open mind. After all, he had seen some pretty strange things since he found the remote control.

As they drove, Taylor told Kai more about Professor Lee. She explained that he was a kind and gentle man, with a passion for learning and a quick mind. She said that he was always eager to help others, and that he would do his best to help them understand the powers of the remote control.

After a few minutes of driving, Taylor pulled up in front of a small, unassuming building. The sign above the door read "Antiquities and Curios," and the windows were filled with a jumble of strange and exotic items.

"We're here," Taylor said, turning off the engine. "Let's go inside and meet Professor Lee."

As they entered the shop, Kai was struck by the sheer amount of strange and exotic items on display. There were ancient-looking artifacts, rare books, and even what appeared to be a taxidermied dragon's head.

Taylor led Kai to the back of the shop, where Professor Lee was hunched over a desk, surrounded by piles of books and papers. He looked up as they approached, and his eyes widened behind his glasses.

"Ah, Taylor! I see you've brought a friend," he said, his voice dripping with curiosity.

"Professor Lee, do you know about the Emi Stone?" Kai asked, his eyes fixed on the professor.

Professor Lee's expression changed, and he looked at Kai with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "How do you know about it?" he asked, his voice low and cautious.

Taylor and Kai exchanged a glance, and then Taylor spoke up. "We've been researching it."

Professor Lee leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "As much as my knowledge goes, the Emi Stone was made in ancient periods using the magic of mages, wizards, and sages from all over the world. The stone is said to be powerful, capable of traveling through worlds and dimensions."

Professor Lee hesitated, as if choosing his words carefully. "The Emi Stone is said to have mysterious powers and curses. It's rumored to be able to manipulate reality itself, bending the laws of physics and time. But it's also said to be extremely dangerous, capable of unleashing untold destruction and chaos."

Taylor leaned forward, her eyes fixed intently on Professor Lee. "How did you come to know about it?" she asked.

Professor Lee smiled wryly. "I stumbled upon an ancient text inside a cave in California. It was an obscure reference, but it sparked my curiosity. I've been researching it ever since."

Kai's eyes lit up with excitement. "A cave in California? That's a long way from here. Do you think we might find some clues there?"

Professor Lee nodded. "It's possible. As far as we know, this much is true. You might find some more clues inside the cave. But I have to ask, why are you suddenly interested in the Emi Stone?"

Taylor hesitated, glancing at Kai before responding. "It's confidential, but we do have a remote that lets us travel through dimensions. And the only clue we have right now is that the Emi Stone is the one giving it the power to do it."

Professor Lee's eyes widened in shock as Kai pulled out the remote control and showed it to him. "You're serious, aren't you?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Kai nodded. "We are. And we think it might be connected to the recent monster sightings."

Professor Lee's expression turned grave. "So the news about monsters... it might be because of this?" he asked, his eyes fixed on the remote control.

Taylor nodded. "Yeah, and we need to stop it. We can't let it continue to cause harm and destruction."

Professor Lee took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving the remote control. "I think I can help you. But we need to be careful. We're dealing with forces beyond our understanding, and we don't know what kind of consequences our actions might have."

Kai couldn't shake off the feeling that someone was following them. He glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Taylor and Professor Lee were deep in conversation, oblivious to his concerns.

Kai couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being followed, and he wondered who could be watching them.

Professor Lee turned to them and said, "If we want to know more about the Emi Stone and the remote control, I think it's better if we go to the cave where I found the ancient writings."

Taylor's eyes lit up with interest. "The cave in California?" she asked.

Professor Lee nodded. "Yes, that's the one. I've been studying the ancient texts, and I believe that the cave holds many secrets about the Emi Stone and its power. If we want to understand what's going on, we need to go there and see for ourselves."

Kai felt a surge of excitement mixed with fear. He had a feeling that going to the cave would be a turning point in their journey, but he was also scared of what they might find. "Are you sure that's a good idea?" he asked.

Professor Lee nodded. "I'm positive. We need to know more about the Emi Stone and its power. And the cave is the only place where we can find the answers we're looking for."

Taylor nodded, a determined look on her face. "I can make the arrangements in a few hours. We can fly to California and head to the cave from there."

Professor Lee nodded, then turned to Kai. "Kai, if you want, we can go to the library in the meantime. We might be able to find something there that can help us prepare for our trip to the cave."

Kai thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, that's a good idea. I'd like to learn more about the Emi Stone and its history before we head to the cave."

Taylor smiled. "I'll make the arrangements while you two do some research. Let's meet back here in a few hours and we can head to the airport."

Professor Lee nodded, and the three of them parted ways, each with their own task to complete before embarking on their journey to the cave.
