Chapter 10 - Four professors, one cook, and a homeroom teacher for one class... The cause of death is overwork

Bang──!!!

“Why is that woman here?!”

Liana, who had left the auditorium after the suddenly ended entrance ceremony and entered an empty bathroom, shouted sharply while slamming the sink.

But that alone wasn’t enough to calm her mind, which was so shocked that it had even turned to anger.

“I thought she was just an adventurer at best… but a professor?!”

The human woman who had blocked her carriage three days ago and brought shame to her, a princess. She never even imagined that this human woman would be a professor at Lua Academy.

At Lua Academy, students are all equal regardless of their status. And above these students, in the superior position, are the professors.

To explain in more detail, Liana’s resolve to make her pay for insulting the Elf race had become meaningless.

Rather, now she might have to pray not to face retaliation from Aria, who was a professor…

“No, that won’t happen.”

Liana trembled for a moment at the unfortunate future that came to mind, but soon she clasped her shaking hands together and exhaled deeply from the depths of her lungs.

“Anyway, except for general classes, I’ll be taking archery and martial arts classes, so I won’t have any reason to meet her, who’s a swordsmanship professor.”

The classes divided by each class are general classes where they learn exploratory knowledge and practical classes where they directly move their bodies.
And since the practical classes Liana was taking were archery and martial arts, not swordsmanship, there was no reason to meet Aria, the swordsmanship professor, except for running into her in the hallway.

But even this chance of meeting in the hallway could be avoided by hearing about it in advance, given Liana’s Elven characteristics, so it could be said that there was virtually no chance of meeting Aria.

Having calmed and reassured herself with such reasonable logic, Liana turned on the faucet and washed her face.

“Phew…”

After washing her face with cold water, she finally felt her head clearing up a bit. Liana raised her head and faced her reflection in the mirror.

“I am Liana Sel Moonsgarde, princess of the Elves. Even if she’s a professor, avoiding one human woman is as easy as eating cold porridge.”

She was Liana Sel Moonsgarde. She never failed in what she had resolved to do, nor did she ever give up.
Therefore, Liana left the bathroom, determined that she would definitely make her pay for the humiliation she had set aside for now, once she graduated from this academy.

“As you saw at the entrance ceremony earlier, but I’ll introduce myself again. I’m Aria, who will be in charge of your class 1-A from now on.”

I think I’m screwed.

The auditorium after the entrance ceremony ended and all the students had left. The professors had long since left as well, so the only people remaining were me and Dean Mira.

I stayed behind because Mira asked me to, saying she had something to tell me, but after what just happened, I couldn’t help but feel suspicious.

And Mira seemed to notice my suspicious gaze, as she smiled awkwardly and pulled out a neatly folded piece of paper from her sleeve and handed it to me.

“This time, I really didn’t ask you to stay to tease you, but because I had something to tell you, okay?”
“What’s this?”
“It’s a paper with the class and location I’d like Aria to be in charge of.”
“Class… you say?”

I tilted my head at the word ‘class’. My job was clearly supposed to be a swordsmanship professor, so why was she talking as if I should be a homeroom teacher?

To this question of mine, Mira quickly provided an answer.

“Originally, the previous swordsmanship professor was supposed to be in charge of that class, but it changed suddenly. While your sisters will probably only be in charge of their respective practical classes, it seems Aria will have to double as the homeroom teacher for Class A.”
“Ah, I see.”

Come to think of it, in the game, the swordsmanship teacher was also the homeroom teacher for Class 1-A. I had forgotten for a moment, but if that was originally the case, then it’s right for me to take charge.

As long as my other bodies weren’t also teaching, there shouldn’t be a problem, so it should be fine to add one more position as a homeroom teacher.

It would be quite troublesome, but since Class 1-A was where many of the representative characters gathered, it was worth going despite the hassle.

I nodded at Mira’s words and received the paper from her, then left the auditorium with a light farewell greeting.

If I’m going to be a homeroom teacher, I should hurry to the classroom. The students who had already left the auditorium would all be gathered in their classrooms, so I hurried my steps as well.

“Let’s see… the location is on the third floor of the main building.”

Looking at the friendly hand-drawn map that seemed to have been drawn by Mira herself, I roughly grasped the location and walked quickly, pushing past the students who were walking to the main building in groups of three or five.

In between, I could hear some students pointing at me and chattering about something, but it’s okay. I had already experienced all of this at the temple.

“Hmm.”

Leaving behind the gazes I had become accustomed to, I quickly arrived at the classroom of Class 1-A. Listening carefully, I could sense the presence of students sitting inside.

For some reason, I couldn’t hear any voices, but it was probably because of some students. There were several representative characters in this class alone, so the others were probably overwhelmed by their presence and unable to speak.

But that shouldn’t be the case. I can’t let those few dominate the class that I, none other than myself, am in charge of.

Screech── Bang!

I roughly pushed open the door and entered the classroom.

“Hic?!”

Someone seemed to have hiccupped in surprise, but ignoring it, I walked to the teacher’s podium, folded my arms, and looked around at the students sitting in the classroom.

Every seat in the classroom was filled, despite quite a few students having been outside earlier.

Glancing around, the most noticeable ones were Arin, Liana, Shati, and Kana, the four I had seen in the auditorium. And the rest of them also seemed to have faces full of determination.

Feeling somewhat elated as if I could feel the enthusiasm of everyone who had entered the academy in this living, breathing game classroom, I called out boldly.

“As you saw at the entrance ceremony earlier, but I’ll introduce myself again. I’m Aria, who will be in charge of your class 1-A from now on.”

The children froze like stones at my shout. Somehow feeling like I knew why, I smiled.

Probably, they had just entered the academy and were already overwhelmed by the presence of Arin, Liana, and Shati, and now with me added on top, they couldn’t even breathe. I understood it well, as it was the same in the game.

However, if they thought I would be considerate and handle these children gently, they were mistaken.

I pointed at Kana, the representative character for cooks, who was sitting at the very front, at the end, and raised my voice.

“You there! What’s your name?”
“Y-Yes, yes, sir! It’s K-Kana!”

Kana answered, stiffening her body at my sudden call. I looked at Kana once, then at the rest of the children once, and shouted again.

“I won’t say much else. In this class that I’m in charge of, there are only three problems that you shouldn’t cause if you don’t want to clash with me.”
“First, don’t be late. Second, knock three times before entering my office, and if there’s no answer, don’t come in. Third, any act of violence against me is strictly prohibited.”

At my words, sounds of relief erupted here and there, thinking these were natural things that they wouldn’t worry about breaking.

But it seemed that the Elf princess sitting in the back seat didn’t think so, so I intentionally fixed my gaze on her and spoke, partly because I was still annoyed by her behavior three days ago.

“You might think these are all easy to keep, but there was already one stupid student who broke the third rule outside the academy, so I hope you’ll all be careful.”
“Eh? That’s a lie!”
“Did someone really attack a professor?”
“That’s impossible.”

Students saying they can’t believe my words. It seemed that everyone had relaxed a little bit.

Of course, only Liana was trembling with a red face more than anyone else in the relaxed atmosphere.

Feeling like she might really cry if I teased her any more, I turned around and walked back to the teacher’s podium.

And then.

Hmm…

…What should I do now?

Honestly, it’s my first time being a teacher for a class, and Mira only told me that this time was just for a simple introduction, so I had no idea what to do for the remaining 45 minutes.

Should I tell them some interesting story? Even if I’m told to teach, I’m not teaching general classes, I’m just a homeroom teacher. Besides, it would be cruel to start classes right from the first period after the entrance ceremony.

“Well…”

In the end, unable to come up with a suitable method, I decided to use the go-to line I had seen teachers use many times before.

“If you have any questions, ask anything. I’ll answer.”
