Chapter 3 - Fuck, Goddess, you didn't say anything like this (3)
“Wow, I barely survived. I really almost died.”
Only after running for a while, putting some distance between myself and Liana and Helia who I had been facing off against just moments ago, did I lean against a tree in the dense forest and let out a sigh of relief.
Thanks to this body’s correction, there were no sudden collapses or instances of being looked down upon, but since my heart was still pounding as if about to burst from tension, I leaned against the tree and barely managed to calm my wildly beating heart.
I was very curious about why on earth Goddess Iriel had put such a correction on this body, but since that was beyond my control, I put it aside. Fortunately, this correction seemed to activate only when people were around.
Now that I was separated from those two, my thoughts came out straight without being filtered. Of course, it seemed to activate again immediately if someone was nearby, but I felt for the first time today how comfortable my original way of speaking was.
“Still, it’s fortunate that I was able to escape somehow.”
As some time passed and I felt my heartbeat starting to stabilize, I looked down at my transformed body.
The confrontation with those two just now was truly the worst possible scenario thanks to this damn correction, but at the same time, in exchange for the worst situation, I was able to learn important information including the time period I had fallen into.
Apart from finding out the current time period, there were two important pieces of information I discovered.
The first of these is that I can instinctively know how to use this body.
The moment I saw the arrow shot at me earlier, as soon as I thought I should deflect it, the boundary that seemed to separate myself and the game character Aria disappeared.
As if inserting and turning a key, the locked boundary vanished permanently.
The arrow’s speed would have been too fast to even see with my original body, but this body, entering combat mode with the mental boundary lifted, allowed me to observe the incoming arrow very leisurely.
As if it were my original skill, time stretched out as soon as I entered combat.
And in that slowed time, as soon as I thought about deflecting the arrow, I was able to immediately draw my sword and accurately cut the incoming arrow right in the middle.
It was truly miraculous physical ability and swordsmanship. And this sensation still remained. No, is the expression “remained” not accurate?
To explain more precisely, I came to know everything about swordsmanship as if I had originally been Aria, and became able to transfer it to my body. A feeling like I naturally know how to use this body, as if it’s now mine.
Perhaps this is the effect of that blessing or whatever that Goddess Iriel gave me. If what I saw before losing consciousness is accurate.
[Thank you for your kind heart, and I, Goddess Iriel, enclose my blessing.]
[I bestow upon you the characters you’ve raised with your efforts as avatars.]
[I, Goddess Iriel, will dwell within you so that your heart does not crumble.]
That’s what it said. I’m not sure exactly what that blessing is, but I had to think that this sudden familiarity with the body was included in that blessing. If I had remained my original self, there’s no doubt I would have died 100% in that situation just now.
Anyway, that’s the explanation for the first point, and now for the second.
The second important information I discovered is that ‘Liana Sel Moonsgard’, the representative NPC character of the ‘Archer job class’, appeared before my eyes.
Why is this important information, you ask? Let me explain, so listen carefully!
I think it’s similar for most MMORPG games, but for each job class of the character you create, there’s usually one character that serves as the foundation.
Those that appear as basic illustrations or NPCs of other job classes that appear in the game’s story when intertwining with different job classes.
And such a representative character, moreover the representative character of the archer job class I had raised, Liana Sel Moonsgard, appeared right in front of me.
This might suggest that all the representative NPCs of each job class in Kaleidoscope will gather at Lua Academy, where all job classes come together.
And to confirm this more accurately, I muttered towards the air as written in the explanation Iriel had sent earlier.
“Avatar.”
Ding──
As I called out “Avatar,” a translucent hologram window, now becoming familiar, appeared in front of me.
And among the four characters standing on that window, just like in the game I always saw, I touched the character with short white hair with my hand.
[Do you want to select Archer – Kama?]
“Select.”
She was the character of the archer job class I had raised, and in the story, she held the position of Liana Sel Moonsgard, the third princess of the Elf Kingdom.
If this clearly changes my appearance, it would be one of the proofs that my guess is correct.
I answered the question window that appeared without hesitation, and then my body, which had been Aria’s body, was enveloped in light and began to change gradually.
Perhaps because it was my first character change, the light felt somewhat awkward and ticklish, but in less than a second, I smiled slightly as I confirmed my changed body.
“Ah, ahaha…!”
Although I couldn’t exactly check my face, when I pulled my hair a bit to see, it was shoulder-length pure white hair, and instead of Aria’s ash-colored cloth armor, I was wearing a green dress that looked as if it was made by carving large leaves.
Although I had used a cash item to make the elf ears look like human ears, when I opened the ‘Status Window’ and removed the cash item, I could clearly feel the elongated elf ears.
I put the item back on to change the ears to human ones again, and looking at my appearance as my character, Kama, I burst into a truly joyful laugh.
“Wahahaha!! Awesome!! This really seems like it might be the right answer?! It’s almost certain, isn’t it?!”
There was a tremendous imbalance in letting out a man’s laughter in the body of such a beautiful elf woman, but such a thing couldn’t stop my laughter right now.
Although I can’t be certain yet, to be honest, I had a belief close to certainty.
That truly all the representative characters of every job in Kaleidoscope will gather at Lua Academy.
From the beginning, considering that there was a scene where all representative characters gathered at the time of the Human-Demon War, that must have been the original story, but I couldn’t properly realize it as I was in the player’s position.
The character I played was only one. Only one character that I directly moved and raised.
However, the expectation of being able to see this with my own eyes, and at the same time, the solution to the Human-Demon War that started to unfold as all job classes gather, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
If I am Princess Liana and she is also Princess Liana, it means the characters I raised and the representative characters here are treated separately. This means that the original representative characters of my other characters – Aria, Meiel, Yujia, and Yeonhwa – will also come to Lua Academy.
Then, there’s only one thing I need to do from now on.
“Let’s go to the Kingdom of Phara!”
There, I’ll nurture the seeds gathered at the academy and cultivate slaves for the future!
“I’m sorry, but without a pass, you cannot enter the Kingdom of Phara. Please get a proper pass issued in another village.”
Fuck.
It seems I’ve hit a roadblock right from the start.
