Chapter 30: 30 The Seed of Sayoran
Dorothy wasn't as pretentious as those noble young ladies. Even small matters like drinking water and wiping sweat, she did them herself.
In fact, even among other noble young ladies, even those with maids, they weren't cared for meticulously like Nanali was by Lane.
Dorothy said she was envious with ulterior motives, but other noble young ladies were truly jealous!
Quite a few noble young ladies had already started scolding their attendants.
Look at Instructor Lane. He's not only erudite but also so good at taking care of people. Look at you. You can't even take care of me properly!
Those attendants were also on the verge of tears.
How would I know that taking care of a young lady needs to be to such an extent? I've always taken care of you like this!
It's all that Lane's fault. Why is he so meticulous in taking care of people? He's broken the rules!
Over here, Lane had already led his horse out of the stable and taken Nanali home.
When passing by the market, the entrance of the market wasn't as bustling as in the morning. Only a wooden platform full of dried blood remained, informing passers-by of the bloody scene that had occurred here.
Nanali curiously glanced over there, and Lane quietly placed his hand on Nanali's head:
"Oh, it should be that the performance in the morning went wrong? A bunch of rotten fruits were thrown by the audience."
Looking at Lane's desperate attempt to cover up, Nanali couldn't help but find it somewhat amusing.
As a noble young lady, although Nanali was only nine years old, she had witnessed such bloody scenes before.
However, Lane still treated her as a child who had never seen any scene like this.
But Nanali didn't dislike Lane's treatment like this. Instead, she quite enjoyed it.
After daydreaming for a while, Nanali suddenly reacted and reached out to slap away Lane's palm on her head:
"I've said not to touch my head randomly!"
After passing the market and riding for a while, Lane and Nanali came to the flower shop where Lane bought flowers yesterday. Looking at that flower shop, Lane thought for a moment and lowered his head, saying to Nanali:
"The Sayoran I gave you yesterday, did you like it?"
"It's okay. It's quite pretty, but unfortunately, it has withered."
Nanali answered duplicitously. In fact, in Nanali's eyes, Sayoran was the most beautiful flower she had ever seen.
Unfortunately, after only one night, the flower had already withered.
"Let's buy a pack of seeds?"
Lane smiled and said, "Let's plant them ourselves. Then it won't wither so easily."
"Plant them ourselves?"
Nanali's eyes lit up first, then she asked doubtfully, "But isn't Sayoran only able to grow at the border?"
"We can use magic."
Lane smiled and replied, "I'll teach you a magic that can bestow vitality to plants. With this magic, we can plant Sayoran at home."
Hearing this, Nanali happily nodded. After all, being able to plant Sayoran at home and learn new magic was naturally something very delightful.
Last time, because Rowling was there, Lane felt at ease letting Nanali wait outside when buying flowers.
But this time, there were only Lane and Nanali. Lane naturally wasn't very reassured. After parking the horse properly, he led Nanali into the flower shop.
Lane wasn't worried about that horse. Despite being so thin, it was from the battlefield after all. Ordinary people really couldn't tame it. Anyone who dared to steal it might get a transparent hole kicked in their chest by its hoof.
After buying the seeds and flowerpots, Lane put them all into his magic space and then continued riding the horse back to the mansion.
"Miss, welcome back. The bath water is ready."
As soon as they returned to the mansion, Darrie walked towards them, slightly bowing to the two.
Because she had served Nanali for a long time, Darrie naturally knew that Nanali had swordsmanship classes every afternoon. Preparing the bath water for Nanali when she was about to return every day had become a habit for Darrie.
Nanali nodded and went to take a bath.
After Nanali left, Darrie and Lane looked at each other, then Darrie winked at Lane:
"Mr. Lane, I went to the market this morning. That scene was really terrifying. How could you let me see such a thing?"
Although she said so, there was a charming smile on Darrie's face.
Darrie wasn't afraid of such a scene. Watching the knight captain being executed by slow slicing, all Darrie felt was relief. She even stopped there to watch for a while and didn't leave until the knight captain died completely.
"This matter is over. There's nothing to talk about. It's time to cook. You and Daisy must be hungry too?"
"Well, I do feel a little hungry."
Darrie nodded and smiled: "And Daisy was clamoring for the dishes made by Mr. Lane just after lunch."
Speaking of this, Darrie sighed: "I clearly cooked according to Mr. Lane's methods, but Daisy still prefers the dishes you make."
"You're so smart. Sooner or later, you'll do better than me." Saying that, Lane walked into the kitchen.
"Humph~ Mr. Lane is really good at pleasing girls."
Darrie narrowed her eyes and smiled, then followed Lane into the kitchen.
Daisy prepared a new set of changeable clothes for Nanali and took the clothes Nanali changed out to wash.
The clothes included Nanali's underwear and such, which naturally wasn't for Lane to wash.
But Lane's underwear and such were also washed by Daisy...
Lane and Darrie were preparing the afternoon meal in the kitchen and also took the spare time to wash the lunch box clean. When the afternoon meal was served on the table, Nanali also finished taking a bath and came out.
With her wet blonde hair, Nanali sat on the small chair she usually sat on in the morning.
Lane wiped his hands and began to blow-dry Nanali's hair.
As Nanali's blonde hair became smooth and soft again, Lane couldn't resist reaching out and rubbing it twice: "Alright, it's time to eat."
Nanali snorted. Those two rubs just now weren't for drying the hair. Clearly, you were touching my head randomly again...
After finishing the afternoon meal, Nanali let out a sigh of relief, as if releasing all the fatigue of the whole day.
Then, Nanali looked up at Lane: "Lane, shall we practice swordsmanship next?"
Although Nanali said it casually, in Nanali's eyes, Lane saw unwavering trust.
But Lane shook his head:
"We just finished eating. It's not good to do vigorous exercise. Let's plant the seeds of Sayoran first? I'll teach you magic."
