Reverend Insanity: The Gacha System

Chapter 87: Aptitude Increase, Slave Acquired

Next, after receiving the rewards, he opened the system and noticed the info button pop up, detailing the mechanics of the gacha tickets and how to obtain them.

[System Notification: Gacha Tickets can be earned through Kill Points (KP). For every 10 KP, 1 gacha ticket is rewarded. KP is accumulated by defeating enemies or completing system-assigned tasks based on their difficulty and rank.]

The system continued:

[Each Gacha Banner corresponds to the user's current cultivation rank.]

Rank 1: Requires 100 KP for 10 gacha tickets.

Rank 2: Requires 1,000 KP for 10 gacha tickets.

Rank 3: Requires 10,000 KP for 10 gacha tickets.

Rank 4 and beyond: KP requirements will continue to scale exponentially.

Fang Yuan nodded as he absorbed the information, already calculating efficient ways to farm KP. (If you know, you know 😈)

Fang Yuan looked outside and saw the starry night sky, with insects chirping softly in the distance. Realizing that it wasn't the right time to venture out, he lay down to rest. Despite his high mental fortitude, it didn't mean he had high physical strength—his body was still weak. Although his 500 years of experience allowed him to defeat people of his age or slightly older using advanced fighting techniques, he was still only a week into his rebirth.

It had been just six days since he awakened, during which he managed to refine the Moon Blade Gu successfully, thanks to the assistance of the Spring Autumn Cicada. However, he had no immediate way to increase his strength significantly, so for now, rest was essential.

As he thought over his plans for tomorrow, Fang Yuan drifted into a peaceful sleep, his breathing steady as the night deepened.

The next morning, Fang Yuan woke up early, knowing he needed to get stronger quickly. His memories provided him with crucial knowledge of the events that would soon unfold, including the need to face Rank 5 Gu Masters—one of whom was his ancestor, the founder of the clan, and the other, his ancestor's sworn brother from the Immortal Crane Sect. This urgency pushed him to make the most of the incredible items he had obtained. But before he could truly advance, he first needed to increase his aptitude, and by extension, the capacity of his aperture.

Sitting cross-legged, he observed the faint light of dawn creeping through the night's darkness. Fang Yuan retrieved the Aptitude Increase Gu, a key item capable of improving his cultivation potential by nearly 40%. With this, his aptitude would jump to 83%, a low A-grade—a significant improvement over the B-grade aptitude he had in his previous life.

He held the Gu carefully, fully aware of its value. "With this upgrade, the path to power will be far smoother than before," he thought, channeling his primeval essence and activating the Gu, ready to take another step toward his grand ambitions.

The Gu's energy flowed into his aperture, causing it to tremble violently, as if an earthquake had erupted within. Slowly but steadily, the primeval essence within the aperture expanded, reflecting the 83% increase from the enhanced aptitude.

Next, Fang Yuan activated the Green Copper Relic Gu. As the Gu dissolved into his body, a wave of energy surged through him, triggering a smooth breakthrough as his cultivation progressed from the Initial Stage to the Middle Stage. The shift was seamless, and Fang Yuan could feel the difference almost immediately as his primeval essence became into Pale Green essence.

After that, Fang Yuan relaxed for a minute and then went out of the hut, making his way toward the forest. Although it was still early morning, several people in the clan were already awake, and many noticed Fang Yuan heading out.

Once inside the forest, the scent of dew-covered leaves filled the air, and the soft sounds of rustling trees accompanied him as he walked deeper. He had a goal in mind—finding a wild boar. With his extensive knowledge from 500 years of his previous life experiences, he knew the boar's habitat and behavior, making the search relatively simple.

After an hour of tracking hoof prints and disturbed vegetation, Fang Yuan finally spotted the creature—a large, aggressive boar with sharp tusks, grazing near a stream. Observing it for a moment, he formulated a plan. The Moon Blade Gu, his main offensive tool, he have for now, would play a key role.

He didn't rush in blindly. Instead, he waited for the right opportunity as the boar lowered its head to drink. Fang Yuan activated the Moon Blade Gu, forming a crescent-shaped energy blade in his hand. In a swift, calculated movement, he launched the Moon Blade toward the boar's legs. The sharp energy slashed across its front limb, forcing the boar to stagger and let out a furious roar.

The injured animal charged toward him, but Fang Yuan remained calm, retreating strategically while luring it into uneven terrain. When the boar stumbled over a root, Fang Yuan took the chance to strike again, aiming another Moon Blade at its side. Blood trickled from its wounds, and its movements slowed. Yet, instead of killing it, Fang Yuan activated the Geass Eyes.

Locking eyes with the boar, the glowing sigil of control projected outward, seizing the boar's will. The creature's resistance crumbled within seconds, and its rage subsided as it stood motionless under Fang Yuan's command.

"You are mine now," Fang Yuan muttered, watching the Geass sigil fade from his eyes. The wild boar knelt submissively before him.

He approached the boar and began bandaging its wounds with strips of cloth torn from his robe, preventing further bleeding. Despite his lack of medical tools, his precision was effective enough to stabilize the creature.

"You will heal quickly," he said, tying the final knot. Placing a hand on its head, he issued a new command. "You will massacre this forest, hunt the beasts within, and grow stronger along the way. Try to store all the beasts in a cave and make sure no blood comes out, I will get you some help."

The boar snorted, as if acknowledging the command, before turning and disappearing into the dense foliage. Fang Yuan watched its departure with a cold, calculating gaze, already anticipating the amount of dead living beings the beast would bring him.

Even though beasts cannot understand human language, the power of the Geass allowed the boar to comprehend Fang Yuan's commands through mental transmission.
