Re:Zero - Reincarnated on a Co-op Route

Chapter 43: The Toast Under the Stars (2/2) [End of Arc 2]

A/N: Hello everyone, the author here! Or should I say... the narrator of this tale :) ? I hope everyone is well.

With the closing of Arc 2, we have crossed a threshold.

Have you ever thought about how memory distorts what we believe to be true? How can a story change depending on the way we look at it?

But the funny thing about a story is that sometimes, the most important pieces are not at the end, but in the places we overlook. And when the time comes, you may find that what you ignored... was always staring back at you.

See you in the next update.

In Lunara!

"That's too bad!" protested Lucas, pouting exaggeratedly which elicited laughter from the other boys.

Before Kaoru could continue, he felt someone tugging on his shirt sleeves. When he looked down, he saw Petra, who was looking at him with sparkling eyes.

"Kaoru-kun, look at this! I made a bunny," she said, pointing to a small snow figure she had carefully molded.

Kaoru looked at the bunny. It was small and simple, but it had an adorable air about it that made him smile.

"It's cute, isn't it?" asked Petra, with a mixture of pride and shyness in her voice.

"Of course it is," Kaoru replied, kneeling down next to the figure. "If you want, let me make it a little better." Without waiting for a reply, Kaoru picked up some small leaves and some fruit she found nearby. Carefully, he added little ears, eyes, and some additional details that made the bunny look even cuter.

When he was finished, Petra looked at him with her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Aaahh, it's so cute! A snow bunny!" She exclaimed, rubbing her cheek against the little figure.

Kaoru couldn't help but smile at seeing her so happy, but then he noticed Petra looking at him out of the corner of her eye. Her face blushed quickly, and she averted her gaze awkwardly, which piqued Kaoru's curiosity. "Does she... like me?" he wondered internally, watching her with slight confusion.

"S-see you later, Kaoru-kun," Petra said hurriedly before rushing off with her snow bunny in her arms.

Kaoru stayed in place, scratching the back of his neck as he watched her walk away. "Wow... that was unexpected," he muttered to himself before continuing his jury duty.

Meanwhile, Subaru was still scrolling through the sculptures, amazed at the creativity of the participants. "They all look great," he commented, pleased with the progress of the festival.

"Subaru-kun, look at this, please!" called Rem, raising an arm to catch his attention.

Subaru quickly approached, curious. "What's the matter, Rem? Are you participating too?"

"It's what Nee-sama and I made together," Rem explained with a smile, pointing to a large figure covered with a blanket.

"Rem and Ram are also participating?" Subaru cocked his head to the side, surprised. "It's odd for Ram to participate with her low tolerance for cold," he commented, glancing at the older sister.

Ram, folding her arms, looked at him with disdain. "Rem and the others are having fun outside; how could I stay cooped up inside?"

"You just didn't want to be alone," Subaru replied, with a smirk.

"I wanted to be with Nee-sama, so I talked her into it," Rem explained, with a quiet smile.

"Isn't it terrible to make your sister do this, Nee-sama?" asked Subaru, feigning indignation.

"Our love as sisters is passionate. You should be jealous," Ram replied, with a haughty expression.

Subaru shook his head with a sarcastic laugh. "Yeah, sure, whatever you say."

Finally, Subaru pointed to the covered sculpture. "And what's that?" he asked, curious.

Ram smiled proudly as Rem prepared to remove the blanket. "It's a masterpiece we created by combining our powers as sisters"

"Its name is... Subarashiki Subawaal-sama," Rem stated, removing the blanket with a dramatic gesture.

What appeared underneath made Subaru go blank. The sculpture was a combination of him and Roswaal, as if someone had decided to merge their features. It was basically Subaru dressed in Roswaal's clothes and hairstyle. But... the result was, to put it mildly, hideous. It looked more like a joke than a work of art.

"Nee-sama wanted to make Roswaal-sama, and I wanted to make you," Rem explained sweetly.

"As a result, this combination came about," Ram added, with a satisfied smile.

Subaru put a hand to his face, trying to contain himself.

"This... this sucks," he finally said bluntly.

"It's unique, don't you think?" replied Ram.

Subaru sighed deeply. "I don't know if I should laugh, cry, or just pretend I never saw this..." he muttered, as the sisters continued to stare at the work with pride.

Roswaal approached, watching with a mixture of amusement and surprise.

"Well, well, what are you two doing here? And what is this?" He commented, his eyes fixed on the sculpture depicting a strange fusion of himself and Subaru.

"Ah, Roswaal-sama," Ram began, her tone somewhat embarrassed. "It's embarrassing, but please look at this."

"It's our masterpiece," Rem added, smiling proudly as she pointed to the snow figure.

"Please give us your honest opinion," Ram requested, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.

A palpable silence filled the air as the twins eagerly awaited Roswaal's scores. The tension was almost palpable; both of their hearts pounded with excitement.

"It's a shame, but... 5 points," Subaru commented, with a tone that mixed sincerity and a touch of humor.

Ram, hearing this, spun around in a dramatic gesture as if she were an idol girl, her hands moving gracefully.

"'More!" she exclaimed, with an expression of disbelief.

"I won't change it. That's the one!" replied Subaru, raising his hands in defense. "I'm sorry, but that level of beauty is lower than I expected."

Ram suffered a visual shock; his eyes widened in disbelief. "I-it can't be... impossible!" She protested, clearly devastated.

"So, Roswaal-sama..." said Rem, looking intently at the mage, eagerly awaiting his assessment.

Roswaal gestured as if to give a high score, which caused, for a moment, both sisters to glow with excitement. But that spark crumbled when Roswaal only showed 4 points with a sigh.

"4 points?!" thought Ram, feeling defeated falling to the floor.

"The maximum points are 30; each of us can give 10. Only Kaoru is missing to complete the score for this," Roswaal muttered, trying to soften the blow.

"It wasn't too bad though... I just don't like the combination."

Frustrated, Ram pounded the snowy ground with clenched fists, eyes closed in a mixture of anger and discouragement.

"I didn't get anything wrong. Surely it was because Barusu's construction got in the way!" she said, her voice filled with indignation.

"It's impossible! It's so strange that what we both wished for was lost," Rem added, feeling dejected.

It was then that Emilia approached Subaru from behind, her cheerful voice interrupting the tense atmosphere. "Oh, Emilia-tan," Subaru said, turning to greet her.

"My sculpture is almost ready. Beatrice is working hard, too. It's not finished, but if you want, you can come and see," Emilia explained, until her gaze fell on the figure in front of her.

"Oh, what is this?" she asked in surprise.

"It's cool, though, very bizarre," Emilia said, looking at the sculpture with a twinkle in her eye.

"Isn't it?" replied Subaru.

Suddenly, Lucas appeared from behind Subaru, hugging him enthusiastically. "Subaru!" he called, catching his attention as he grabbed him by the arm. "Come see!" he said animatedly, as Cain and Mild followed close behind.

"Come see what we did!" they shouted, pushing and pulling Subaru, pulling him with them towards their own sculpture.

Subaru, feeling pulled by the children's energy, couldn't help but smile. "Okay, okay! I'm coming!" he exclaimed, feeling the festive atmosphere of the festival fill him with energy.

[Time Skip]

Kaoru had finished scoring most of the sculptures at the festival and was leisurely strolling among the last few works, evaluating each one with a light smile. It was then that, in the distance, he spotted a petite, familiar figure. Beatrice was standing next to a sculpture, her cheeks slightly pink from the cold, as she put the finishing touches on her creation.

"Beako... I didn't think you were participating as well," Kaoru commented with a friendly smile as she approached. His tone was somewhat playful; the kind of tone he knew irritated Beatrice slightly.

Beatrice turned her head towards him, a haughty expression on her face. "Why wouldn't I? I'm not useless like you, Kashira," she replied, placing her small hands on her hips. Then she pointed proudly at her sculpture. "It's clearly Puckie. It's not obvious, Kashira."

Kaoru bowed slightly, observing the figure closely. The sculpture, though clearly made with effort, had a curious detail: the features of Puck were somewhat... deformed.

"Well..." he thought as he tried to hold back a chuckle. "I suppose it could be him... if he had a flattened face."

"What are you mumbling about, dummy?" asked Beatrice, frowning.

Kaoru straightened up with an innocent smile. "Nothing, nothing. It's an interesting play," he commented as he crossed his arms. "Have the others rated you yet?"

Beatrice snorted, turning her face away in indignation.

"Yes, those fools don't know how to rate real art. How could they possibly give me only 7 points? Clearly this deserves a 10 out of 10 from every juror!" She exclaimed, her tone filled with frustration.

"Ah, I see," Kaoru replied, scratching the back of his neck as he tried not to laugh.

"It's pretty cute, but I guess I don't know how to value art either. So... I'll give you 7 points too," he said with a quiet smile.

"Excuse me?" Beatrice turned to him, her blue eyes with butterfly pupils glittering with indignation. She stepped closer, placing her hands on her hips and looking him straight in the eye. "Do you think this only deserves 7 points?" she asked, her tone now challenging him.

"Uh... yes indeed," Kaoru replied with a bluntness that only served to infuriate her more.

Beatrice stomped the snow hard, her small foot barely leaving a mark on the ground. "Hey! I'd like to see you try to do better before you say that, you fool. kashira!"

Kaoru shrugged, clearly enjoying Beatrice's reaction. "I was thinking of doing a sculpt as soon as I finish scoring everyone. I think I know who to portray."

Beatrice blinked, now curious. "Who?" she asked, leaning slightly towards him.

Kaoru smiled but didn't respond. Instead, he began to slowly walk away.

"Wait!" exclaimed Beatrice, her tone changing to a softer one. "Can you raise it, Kashira?"

Kaoru paused and turned his head slightly towards her. "Noooooope," he replied, lengthening the word with a playful tone.

"Please," Beatrice insisted, her tone now somewhat less defiant.

Kaoru gave her a sidelong glance, with a smile that indicated he was about to have even more fun. "Mmm... if you ask me more tenderly, perhaps."

Beatrice blushed immediately, backing up a step as she looked at him in disbelief.

"No way, pervert!" She retorted, crossing her arms and looking away.

"So, that's the score," Kaoru said calmly, turning around again.

"Ugh..." Beatrice clenched her fists, clearly debating between her pride and her desire to get a better score. Finally, she let out a sigh and muttered, "Okay, I'll do it, silly."

Kaoru turned around with an expression of feigned surprise. "Oh, really? I hear you," he said, leaning slightly towards her.

Beatrice took a deep breath, closed her eyes and, in a tone so sweet and tender it sounded like something out of a dream "Kaoru-kun, can you raise my score, pretty please with a cherry on top?~"

Kaoru was silent for a moment, amazed at how adorable Beatrice looked in that instant.

"This... this will be stuck in my mind forever"

"Hmmmm..." Kaoru put a hand to his chin, closing his eyes as if he were seriously considering the request. Finally, he opened one eye and smiled. "7.5."

Beatrice blinked. "What, only 0.5 more!!!?" She cried, her small frame quivering with indignation.

"I never said I'd give you a 10, only that I'd raise the score a little if you asked tenderly. Well, see ya!" said Kaoru, hurrying away before Beatrice could process what had just happened.

Beatrice, completely red with shame and fury, shouted, "You...you...you fucking idiot! You fool! Lolicon!" as she watched him disappear into the crowd.

Finally, she snorted and crossed her arms, looking at her sculpture. "Tsk. All in vain," she muttered, still feeling the heat in her cheeks.

Rem watched Kaoru in the distance. Her usual smile brightened as she watched him approach, while Ram stood with her arms folded, a defeated expression painted on her face.

"Look, nee-sama. It's Kaoru-kun," Rem said, pointing eagerly at the young men.

"It's no use, Rem," Ram replied, sighing deeply. "I don't think he'll give us a 10 to make up for it. I've already seen him laugh at the other sculpts."

Rem shook her head, maintaining her optimism. "Kaoru-kun will value what our wills wanted to create, nee-sama. I'm sure of it." Then, wasting no time, she waved her hand to get his attention.

"Kaoru-kun! Come this way!"

Kaoru, who was finishing punctuating another sculpt, turned in the direction of Rem's voice. Seeing them, he sketched a friendly smile and walked towards them. "Rem, Ram. I didn't know you were participating," he said, tilting his head slightly, curious as to what they would have done. "In that case, what do you have to show me?"

Rem leaned slightly toward his work, a gleam of pride in her eyes. "It is our masterpiece. The fruit of our combined efforts as sisters," she explained, gesturing toward the covered sculpture.

Ram, though less enthusiastic, interjected with a more neutral tone. "It's called Subarashiki Suba-"

"Okay, you don't have to say the full name," Kaoru interrupted, raising a hand as he squinted, clearly suspecting that something strange was hiding under the blanket. "Let me see it."

Rem nodded and, with a delicate gesture, removed the blanket covering the sculpture, revealing the sisters' creation.

Kaoru blinked several times. In front of him was... something. A strange, almost disturbing amalgam: the top part looked like Subaru, but with Roswaal's signature clothing and hairstyle. The combination was so jarring that it was difficult to process. Kaoru tilted his head slightly, examining it closely.

"Is this...?" he murmured, moving a little closer. For a moment, his face looked serious, as if he was really evaluating the "artwork".

Ram, noticing his apparent interest, sensed there was a small spark of hope. She took a step forward, trying to sound more confident. "Kaoru, I know you can see the true beauty behind this. Even if I don't think much of you, I know that y—"

"This is just..." Kaoru paused intentionally, his face neutral as he looked at them. But then a mischievous smile appeared on his lips, and his shoulders began to shake slightly.

"Very bizarre. I like it. Quite."

Ram blinked, confused for a moment, until Kaoru finally let out a laugh.

"Oh, my. How disgusting... hahaha!" Kaoru couldn't hold back any longer, laughing as he pointed at the sculpture. "It's so ridiculous, I can't stop looking at it."

Rem, though a bit disappointed, couldn't help but smile at Kaoru's sincere reaction. "Kaoru-kun, what's your score?" she asked, leaning slightly towards him, still with hope in her tone.

Kaoru put a hand to his chin, as if seriously considering the question. Then he held up a hand, showing five fingers.

"Five points!!!?" exclaimed Ram, feeling another direct blow to her pride. "That's ridiculously low!"

"I'm sorry," Kaoru replied sincerely, though with a smile still playing on his lips. "But I think it's only fair."

Ram clenched her fists, clearly frustrated. But she wasn't about to give up so easily. She took a dramatic turn, raising his arms as if he were on stage.

"'More!" she exclaimed, with an expression that was intended to be charming.

Kaoru raised an eyebrow, amused.

"Mmmm... only if you ask nicely," he replied, crossing his arms and waiting.

Ram clicked his tongue.

"Please, more?" she said, trying to sound convincing.

Kaoru shook his head, feigning a serious expression.

"You fool, I asked you nicely!" protested Ram, clearly irritated.

"You misunderstood me," Kaoru said serenely, turning away as if about to leave.

"Well, I think they're calling me somewhere else. See you girls."

"Wait!" exclaimed Ram, stopping him before he could walk away. Kaoru turned slightly, arching an eyebrow curiously.

Ram took a deep breath, clearly debating between her pride and what she was about to do. Finally, she took a step towards him.

"Ugh... you're such a dick, Kaoru," she muttered before leaning over and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. To add more impact, she intertwined one of her hands with his, her fingers gently brushing his.

Kaoru stood still, blinking in surprise as he felt the warmth of her hand and the gentle touch on his cheek.

"I know you like it when pretty girls get really close to you like this~," Ram whispered, standing on tiptoe to get close to her ear. Her tone was soft, but there was a hint of teasing in her voice.

"Well, was that what you wanted?" asked Ram silkily, pulling away slightly and crossing her arms, a triumphant smile on her face.

Kaoru cleared his throat, regaining his composure. "I think an 8 would be fine," he finally said, looking at the sculpture again.

"After all, it's not so bad looking at it with different eyes."

Ram smiled in satisfaction at hearing this but said nothing. Kaoru, still somewhat flush, gave them one last smile before walking away again.

"Well, girls, see you later. I think I'm going to start my own piece."

Ram watched him walk away, his smile morphing into a small sneer. "Mens"

Rem looked at her curiously. "Nee-sama, are you all right?"

"Perfectly, Rem," Ram replied, looking at her sister with a smile. "Just that Kaoru-kun is easier to manipulate than I thought."

The snow festival was in full swing. Laughter and hustle and bustle filled the air as villagers and visitors alike enjoyed the event. The whole village looked like a scene out of a winter fairy tale, with snow sculptures decorating every corner and the joy of the people brightening up the cold evening.

Subaru stood near a sculpture the children had made in his honor. The figure was an exaggerated caricature of him, with bizarre proportions and a comically deformed face.

"Do they really think my nose is that big?" commented Subaru, feigning indignation. Emilia and Puck, at his side, couldn't contain their laughter.

"It's adorable, Subaru!" said Emilia with a chuckle as Puck hovered near her shoulder, holding his belly as if he were laughing too.

"Adorable, yes, but what did I do to them to deserve this?" replied Subaru, pointing to the sculpture dramatically. However, he couldn't help but join in the laughter.

A few feet away, Rem and Ram were strolling leisurely, observing the other sculptures. Rem, with a serene smile, admired the villagers' efforts, while Ram, though more reserved, showed curiosity in her expression.

Roswaal, meanwhile, was surrounded by villagers congratulating him on the success of the festival. "Oh hoho, don't thank me," Roswaal said in his characteristic theatrical tone. "The one who came up with the idea to do this was none other than our dear Subaru-kun."

Meanwhile, in a quieter corner of the festival, Kaoru was working on his own sculpture. With a clear idea in mind, he was molding the snow with care and dedication. His expression was full of concentration, as if every detail was crucial. As he was finishing, he felt a petite presence approaching.

"Let's see the silly sculpture you made, Kashira," Beatrice said, with her arms crossed and a slight tone of mockery in her voice. "So much you love to criticize the works of others. This is sure to be a disaster."

However, when her eyes landed on the snow figure, Beatrice was completely speechless. The sculpture Kaoru had made was hers... but not in the way she normally dresses. Instead of her distinctive dress, the snow figure was wearing clothes inspired by a cozy, comfortable style, something she had never worn before.

Beatrice, in snow, wore a nightgown along with a plush-looking, open-front sweater with a striped design. Lace shorts adorned her figure, and her iconic long tights with a pattern of horizontal stripes reached up to her thighs. The sculpture's expression, despite being made of snow, conveyed warmth and gentleness. Every detail was made with such care that it looked like a work of art.

"You... did you do this?" asked Beatrice, her voice softer than usual, as her eyes remained fixed on the sculpture.

"I told you I had something in mind," Kaoru replied with a quiet smile as he wiped the snow off his hands.

There was a short silence before Kaoru broke the tension with a question. "But the real question is... what's my score?"

Beatrice didn't answer right away. Her cheeks were slightly flushed as she looked at the sculpture. Finally, she mumbled, almost reluctantly: "It's... a 10."

"I'm glad you like it," Kaoru said, smiling broadly. "I put a lot of effort into it, after all."

Beatrice, still looking at the sculpture, mumbled something Kaoru couldn't hear. "Did you say something?" she asked, leaning toward her.

"Why did you make me?" asked Beatrice, looking up at him. Her voice held a slight hint of curiosity, but also something else... something even she couldn't quite identify.

Kaoru scratched the back of his neck, as if the answer was somewhat obvious. "Well, I just felt I wanted to do you. I figured you'd like it,"

Beatrice was silent, her thoughts fluttering like snowflakes around her. "I don't understand...why him? Is it possible that he is... " For a moment, her mind was filled with doubts, but she quickly shook them away, shaking her head. "No, impossible. he can't be him. "

"Is something wrong, Beako?" asked Kaoru, cocking his head to the side as he noticed her distant expression.

"No... N-nothing," Beatrice replied quickly, looking away.

Before Kaoru could say anything else, a voice called out to him from across the garden. "Kaoru!" shouted Lucas, running towards him excitedly. "Wow! You did that?" asked the boy, pointing at the sculpture with eyes sparkling with excitement.

Petra also came running up behind Lucas. "It's very pretty, Kaoru-kun!" she exclaimed, looking at the sculpture in admiration.

The other children began to surround the sculpture, murmuring among themselves about how amazing it was. Even Subaru and Emilia approached, curious about the commotion.

"So you made Beako," Subaru said with a smirk as he crossed his arms. "I expected nothing less from you, Kaoru. I didn't expect you to like loli."

"That's impressive, Kaoru," Emilia interrupted, her voice full of genuine surprise. "You really captured her essence... although, why did you dress her up like that?"

Kaoru scratched his head, chuckling a little. "Well, I thought it would be interesting to try something different. Besides, I think she looks more... relaxed like that, don't you think, Beako?"

Beatrice, who had remained silent while everyone admired the sculpture, looked away, her face completely red. "D-dummy, why would you ask something like that?" She murmured, hugging herself.

"Kaoru, you should show us how you made something so cool!" said Lucas, tugging on Kaoru's sleeve.

"Yes, Kaoru-kun, give us some tips!" added another boy.

"Better yet, make a sculpture of me," Subaru joked, raising an eyebrow as he pointed to his own face. "Please make sure it's better looking than that thing the kids made, though."

"Subaru, the sculpture they made of you is adorable," Emilia said, trying to contain her laughter.

"That's not helping, Emilia-tan!" replied Subaru, pretending to be hurt.

"Okay, well, if you want advice, you'll have to wait until the next festival," Kaoru said, laughing as the children continued to insist. "For now, I think I deserve a break."

As the group continued to joke and laugh, Beatrice looked at the sculpture again. "I don't understand," she thought, clenching her hands slightly. "Why do I feel this...? "

ᴬᶠᵗᵉʳ ᵃˡˡ, ᴵ ᵈⁱᵈ ᵃˡˡ ᵗʰⁱˢ ᶠᵒʳ ʸᵒᵘ.

Hours later, the sunset bathed the sky in warm tones, mixing orange, pink, and purple in a spectacle that only nature could offer. The snow glistened under the last rays of the sun, reflecting a soft, golden light that made the whole landscape look like something out of a dream. Night was slowly approaching, and the families of Arlam village were returning to their homes, some still laughing and talking about the snow festival.

Inside the mansion, Subaru, Kaoru, Rem, Ram, Roswaal, and Beatrice had long since returned. The warmth inside contrasted with the cold outside, and animated murmuring could be heard as they prepared a feast to close the day. Outside in the garden, however, Emilia stood beside Puck, observing the snow sculptures that still decorated the place.

"They really all look so pretty," Emilia said, with a wistful smile as her eyes roamed over each sculpture. "It's a shame they're going to melt tomorrow. What a waste."

Puck hovered near her, his front paws crossed and a relaxed look on his face. "That's the way snow is, Lia," he replied serenely. "It doesn't last forever. But that's why it's special, don't you think? Because we can only enjoy it for a moment."

Emilia nodded slightly, hugging herself as she felt the cold on her cheeks. "I guess you're right, Puck. But still, it's a little sad. So much effort..."

Puck spun in the air, changing the subject to cheer her up. "By the way, do you know who won the contest in the end?"

"Huh?" Emilia blinked and snapped out of her thoughts. "Who was it?"

"I think it was the dragon sculpture the kids made," Puck replied, his tone amused. "It wasn't bad at all, I must admit. Those little guys have talent."

"Oh, yes, the dragon was very cute," Emilia said, remembering the sculpture. "Do you know what the prize was for the winner?"

Puck cocked his head to one side, thoughtfully. "Something from Subaru, I think...something made of potatoes? Or something like that."

[POV from the kids]

On the way back to Arlam Village, Petra walked ahead of the other children, holding a bag of potato snacks in her hands. Her eyes sparkled as she pulled out a piece and tasted it. "Mmmm, this tastes delicious," she said with a satisfied smile, as she followed the adults.

"Petra, give me some!" exclaimed Lucas, quickly approaching her.

"And me, me!" requested Mild, holding out his hands, as other children also joined in the chorus.

Petra, though initially hesitant, ended up sharing with a smile. "All right, but don't eat it all, eh? It's mine."

One by one, the children sampled the snacks, and soon their voices joined in chorus. "Mmmm, this tastes yummy!" they said in unison, with childlike glee filling the air. The bag was passed from hand to hand as their laughter echoed down the snowy road.

---

While the children were enjoying their prize in the village, back at the mansion, Subaru stepped out onto the third or fourth floor balcony. The cold wind caressed his face, but he didn't mind. From there, he spotted Emilia in the garden, still contemplating the sculptures. He raised his hand and waved it vigorously.

"The banquet is about to begin!" exclaimed Subaru, his voice full of enthusiasm.

Emilia, looking up, saw him and returned his greeting with a warm smile.

"Yes! I'm coming," she replied, her voice clear and cheerful.

Puck, hovering near her shoulder, yawned, stretching as if he were really tired. "Mmm, I think I'm going to sleep," he announced, his tone lazy. Then he looked at Emilia and gave her a soft smile.

"See you tomorrow, Lia."

"Good night, Puck. Get some rest," Emilia said, gently stroking the crystal of her necklace as Puck faded into it.

As she stepped into the crystal, Puck watched her for a moment longer, his thoughts returning to times past.

"Lia... I haven't seen you smile like that in a long time" he thought wistfully before disappearing completely into the glow of the necklace.

Emilia stood alone for a moment longer, watching the sculptures and the sky that was beginning to darken. Her thoughts wandered, remembering the laughter and moments shared during the festival. Finally, she let out a sigh, her breath forming into a small white cloud in the air.

"I guess it's time to go inside," she muttered to herself, turning towards the mansion. As she walked towards the entrance, she could see the warm lights filtering through the windows, and the sounds of voices inside gave her a comforting feeling.

Night had fallen completely, and a blanket of stars shone in the dark sky, illuminating the snowy landscape with an almost magical glow. The winter chill didn't seem to matter as the group gathered around a long table, decorated with a feast worthy of a celebration. Dishes were overflowing with delicacies: juicy meats, freshly baked breads, colorful garnishes, and desserts that gave off a sweet aroma. Bottles of drinks, courtesy of Roswaal's reserves, adorned the table, along with goblets reflecting the warm candlelight.

Everyone stood, holding their glasses in hand, ready for a toast to close the day filled with laughter and memories. Kaoru, Rem, Ram, and Roswaal had wine or liquor in their glasses, while Emilia, Subaru, and Beatrice held juice, probably because of their preference or, in Beatrice's case, because she didn't care for "disgusting adult alcohol.".

Subaru, predictably, took the initiative. He cleared his throat dramatically, catching everyone's attention as he raised his glass. "Well...thank you all for participating in the Roswaal snow festival," he began, with a broad, sincere smile. His tone was light, but genuine excitement shone in his eyes.

"Everyone did a great job. I had a lot of fun," he continued, looking at everyone present, as if he really wanted to include them all in his words. "Next year, if Puck has a Hatsumaki, then there will be another snow festival—and we'll make it even crazier!" His enthusiasm was infectious, and several soft chuckles echoed around the table.

Kaoru, who had been listening intently, stepped forward, placing herself next to Subaru. He raised his glass slightly, drawing everyone's gazes. "I would also like to say a few words," he announced, his voice calm but with a tinge of seriousness that was unusual for him.

ₜₕₐₜ ᵢ ₗₒᵥₑ yₒᵤ ₛₒ ₘᵤcₕ... ₛₒ ₘᵤcₕ ₜₕₐₜ ₕᵤᵣₜₛ

The murmurs stopped as the group looked at him curiously. Kaoru took a deep breath before speaking. "Even with the short time we have been living together, I am happy to have spent these moments with you," he began, his gaze slowly sweeping over everyone present. "I hope we can spend more moments like this in the future. I may get attached fast, but that's not a problem if it's with the right people, right?"

Roswaal, with a slight smile on his face, took the opportunity to interject. "Oh, Kaoru-kun, do you think we're the right people?" He asked, his tone playful and curious.

Kaoru looked at him and, for a second, considered his answer. "Obviously you don't... but I'll deal with you later," he thought, though he quickly dismissed the thought and simply smiled.

"I'm glad to hear you think so, Kaoru," Rem said, with a warm smile that made Kaoru look away slightly, uncomfortable at how genuine her expression was.

"Well, well," Subaru interjected, raising his glass higher. "Here's to more moments like this, to being alive, and, of course, to the snow festival—let's make a toast!"

With that call, everyone raised their glasses in unison, their voices echoing in perfect synchrony. "Cheers!"

The glasses clinked softly, and the crystalline sound mingled with the laughter and warm atmosphere of celebration. Everyone took a sip of their drink.

"This wine is quite good, don't you think?" commented Roswaal, his tone melodious as he swirled the glass in his hand.

"I must admit I had this saved for a special occasion...but I suppose this festival is worthy of it."

"It is," Ram affirmed, taking a sip from her glass gracefully. "Although, I must say, I didn't expect Subaru to come up with something like this; I was kind of expecting nonsense."

"Hey, I'm the heart and soul of this group!" protested Subaru, pointing at Ram as he leaned forward. "If it weren't for me, this festival wouldn't have been so much fun. Let's face it, Ram."

"Yeah, right," Ram replied, rolling her eyes as she took another sip.

"Subaru-kun really worked hard," Rem commented, with a small smile as he looked at Subaru. "I'm sure we all appreciate it."

Subaru, hearing the praise, straightened up proudly, puffing out his chest. "You see, Ram! Someone here knows how to appreciate my greatness."

"Greatness, he says..." muttered Ram, though a small smile formed on his lips.

Kaoru watched the dynamic with a light smile, enjoying the exchange. Beatrice, on the other hand, remained silent, holding her cup of juice in both hands. Her gaze was lost for a moment, as if she were pondering. Finally, she spoke.

"I guess... that wasn't so bad," she said, her tone trying to sound disinterested, but her slightly flushed cheeks gave her away.

"Is that a compliment, Beako?" asked Kaoru, arching an eyebrow as she smirked.

"Shut up, you silly!" retorted Beatrice, looking away. "I was simply saying that it wasn't that horrible. That's all."

Emilia laughed softly, holding a hand to her cheek. "I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed the day," she commented. "It really was something special, don't you think?"

"That's true," Kaoru replied, raising his glass slightly. "I think this is one of those days I'll remember for a long time."

Under the starry sky, the group continued to enjoy the night, celebrating not only the festival but also the bonds that united them.

The warm lights of the chandeliers created a contrast to the darkness outside, and laughter and conversation filled the room. In the midst of it all, Roswaal, with that enigmatic smile he always carried with him, raised his glass gracefully, drawing everyone's attention.

"By the way, I forgot to say..." began Roswaal, leaving a small pause to maintain the suspense. "We were invited."

"Invited?" asked Kaoru, arching an eyebrow as he took a sip from his second glass of wine.

"That's right," Roswaal continued, his tone melodious. "I have contacts with important people, and they've extended an invitation to Lunara. They want Emilia—along with other candidates—to deliver a short speech to open this year's festival."

"A speech?" Emilia blinked in surprise. "I didn't know you were planning something like that, Roswaal."

Roswaal sketched a broader smile and nodded. "It's an excellent opportunity, Emilia-sama. It will be a perfect way to boost your candidacy and gain more support. I'm sure you'll stand out among the others."

"Lunara..." muttered Subaru, holding a hand to his chin as he tried to remember. "Isn't that that place you mentioned to me this morning, Kaoru?"

Kaoru, who had been listening quietly until now, couldn't hold back a wide smile that lit up her face. "Yes, I can't believe it—we're going to Lunara!" His excitement was palpable, and his lips curled into a smile that went from ear to ear.

Beatrice, who was sitting next to Kaoru, couldn't help but look at him curiously. "So Lunara, huh..." she commented, feigning disinterest, though her eyes showed a slight glint of intrigue. "I guess it's an important place, Kashira."

ᵢ cₐₙ'ₜ wₐᵢₜ

Roswaal, seeing the general curiosity of the group, decided to explain. "For those who don't know, the annual Lunara Festival will begin in two days and last for five days. I have already made reservations for where we will be staying during that time. The opening event will be at noon, when the candidates will give their speeches. After that, it will be a festival full of celebrations, markets, shows, and many more things."

"And what will we do for the rest of the days?" asked Subaru, crossing his arms.

"Ah, that's up to you," Roswaal replied with a wink. "I'll be busy settling some matters with certain important guests. But you guys can enjoy the festival at your leisure. We'll return to the mansion at the end of the event."

"This... this calls for a celebration!" exclaimed Kaoru, raising his glass enthusiastically before taking another sip. It was her second glass of wine, and her face was already showing a slight blush. Next to her, Ram was on his fourth glass, but his expression showed not the slightest sign of affectation.

"Lunara... I wonder what it's like," Subaru murmured, resting a hand on his chin as he imagined the place.

Rem, who had been watching Subaru from across the table, stood up and approached him with his characteristic soft smile. "Good job on making all this possible, Subaru-kun," he said, his voice laden with sincerity.

"Good job, Rem," Subaru replied, returning her smile. "It must have been a pain in the ass for you to help me so much. It's a favor I owe you."

Rem shook his head softly, still smiling. "All right. In return... I want you to fulfill my wishes tonight."

For a moment, there was silence between the two. Subaru stared at her, trying to process what she had just said, while Rem kept her expression calm.

"Huh? Did you just say something strange?" asked Subaru, tilting his head in confusion.

"No, Subaru-kun. I didn't say anything strange," Rem replied, with an innocent smile that did nothing to help calm Subaru's growing discomfort.

Roswaal, who had been watching with amusement, held up two bottles of liquor with his fingers, attracting Subaru's attention. "Subaru-kun, do you want some alcohol? Just feeling it makes me... blush," he said with an exaggerated expression and a closed eye, while mumbling flirtatiously, "Tonight... I don't want to go home~"

"I mean things like that," Roswaal added with a dramatic tone, as everyone at the table exchanged glances between incredulous and amused.

"This attitude... and those words..." Subaru frowned, holding a hand to his forehead. "It seems the rumors about you are true." Then he shook his head quickly. "And besides, I've never drank alcohol."

"You've never drank alcohol?" asked Roswaal, feigning surprise. "Wow, Subaru-kun, I thought with your personality you would have tried alcohol at least once by now."

"Come on, Subaru," Kaoru interjected, his cheeks slightly flushed as he smiled broadly and took another swig from his glass. "Give yourself a drink. I want to hear you talk more nonsense than usual."

"This tastes soooo gooood~," Kaoru added, savoring the wine with obvious enjoyment.

Subaru narrowed his eyes, watching Kaoru closely. "Are you getting to the point, Kaoru? Because you seem to be... too happy."

"Point? I'm just starting to get happy!" replied Kaoru, laughing as he took another sip. "I'm a long way from hitting the sweet spot."

"Kids shouldn't drink alcohol, Subaru," Emilia commented from her seat with an amused smile. "Don't be like Kaoru. Otherwise, you won't grow up."

Kaoru raised an eyebrow at the comment. "I'll be 18 in a couple of months," he said with a slightly defensive tone before taking another sip.

"Just so we're clear, I want you to know that I'm not a kid," Subaru interjected, pointing a thumb at himself. "I'm turning 18 this year, no more, no less! I'm an adult."

"I guess adults don't yell that much," Emilia commented.

"Wait... so you're 17?" asked Emilia, tilting her head slightly. "I wasn't expecting that."

"How old did you think I was?" asked Subaru, curious.

"From... 13 to 11?" replied Emilia truthfully.

"He would be younger than Felt!" exclaimed Subaru, indignant. "And more importantly, Emilia-Tan, what about you?"

"I'm not 13," Emilia replied, rolling her eyes. "I haven't drunk alcohol, but I'm old enough to do so."

"Still, I don't think that's the problem," Subaru muttered.

"And if you were 13... I'd be a criminal," Subaru added, blushing as he looked at Emilia.

"Why would you be a criminal?" asked Emilia, confused.

"That's because you're so beautiful that I could commit a crime," Subaru replied, closing his eyes dramatically.

"So, if it comes to alcohol, Puck says I shouldn't drink it."

"You pretend you didn't hear?!" exclaimed Subaru.

"Well, nothing bad is going to happen today, is it?" said Roswaal with a mischievous grin as he poured some alcohol into a glass, ready to offer it to Emilia.

"Since we found this alcohol, let's drink some," he added, raising his glass eagerly.

"Hehehehe~," he blurted out, feeling a little lighter.

"Hey, guys..." began Kaoru, looking around.

"Guys?" he repeated, as if surprised by the absence of his friends.

Roswaal was already gone, as was Beatrice, and Ram was nowhere to be seen. "Did I really stay talk ing tp myself for so lomg?" muttered Kaoru, feeling a little ridiculous.

On the floor, Subaru was lying, his face flushed as he struggled to stay awake.

"What. a nighht, eh, Subaru? Gahaha," Kaoru said, laughing at his state.

"Subaru... answer meee," Emilia insisted, touching Subaru's cheek repeatedly, a silly grin on her face. "Hehe, what a weird face you make, Subaru."

Rem, completely drunk, had found a comfortable spot and was asleep on Subaru's thigh, oblivious to the conversation.

"Enilia, it's no use. Subari id in wonderland with Alic. e and tthe Cheshire cat," Kaoru commented, laughing at the situation.

"Laoru? Subaru is in W. ondrrland? I want to gO there toi!" exclaimed Emilia, excited.

"Who's Alice, wherw's Alice?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"You hsve To look fir the rabbItt hole to get there," Kaoru joked, laughing as he settled on the floor.

"Kaoru, kaoru, kaoru.,. have you alwats had such long hair?" Emilia staggered as she tried to touch Kaoru's hair, falling on it and bringing it to the ground.

"Mmmmm, well, let's all hug!" said Emilia, hugging Kaoru tightly.

"Emilia, your... they're pressing, so soft... not yhat I'm complaining, but I'm weak at heart... I don't wabt to be a bad friend," Kaoru stammered, feeling a bit overwhelmed.

"Kaoru... dO you likee my... what you sau?"asked Emilia, with a mixture of confusion and amusement in her voice.

"Forget it... I thunk I already forgot," Kaoru replied, trying to deflect the conversation.

"Qhat did you say?" asked Emilia, leaning toward him.

"That I like you," Kaoru stammered, his face even redder.

"What did you say?" Emilia leaned closer, intrigued.

"I want to kiss you and grope you, but I doon't want to ruin evetything," Kaoru muttered, feeling increasingly embarrassed.

"You want to kkiss me, but you don't want to whay?" Emilia could understand that last one.

"Aaaaaaaagh! I'm going to pee or whatever," Kaoru stammered, standing up.

"Kaoru, wait..." stammered Emilia, unintentionally squeezing Kaoru's bulge as he stood up.

"What's rgat?" asked Emilia, surprised.

"What I usse for peeing," Kaoru replied, trying to keep his composure.

"Can I taake iy out?" asked Emilia, innocently curious.

"Mm... eehh, yes... I mean no... I mean yes... I mean nooo... aaaaahhhg, I'm going to pee," said Kaoru, feeling increasingly confused.

At that moment, Emilia fell asleep, her head falling on Kaoru's shoulder, and he laid her down on the floor and put a pillow he found nearby.

Kaoru, staggering, left the room with uncertain steps. "Fuck, the hangover's going to hurt," he muttered as he tried to get closer to the bathroom, feeling like the night had been more than he bargained for.

ᵀʰᵃᵗ'ˢ ʷʰʸ ᴵ ᵍᵃᵛᵉ ʸᵒᵘ ᵐʸ ᵈⁱᵃʳʸ

"...mooɿʜƚɒd ɘʜƚ ,ʏ||ɒᴎiꟻ" muttered Kaoru as he pushed open the door, his body wobbling slightly. He felt like the alcohol had crept up on him more than he expected, but the urgency of his need kept him focused on his goal.

He rushed inside and the first thing he did was lean over the sink, turning on the faucet awkwardly. The cold water hit his face, and he let out a relieved sigh as he washed his face copiously. The droplets slid down his skin as he tried to clear his head a bit.

"What a mess..." he sighed, resting his hands on the edge of the sink, letting the water run for a few more seconds. His head was still spinning, but at least the cold was helping him come to his senses a bit.

However, something in the atmosphere seemed strange to him. He sensed a presence behind him, and as he turned around, he noticed that he was not alone. Sitting on the toilet, with one hand resting on her temple and a slight blush on her cheeks, was Ram. The scene left him transfixed for a second.

"Ram?" asked Kaoru, puzzled.

She looked up slowly, her eyes narrowed from the obvious dizziness that was also affecting her. Her tone of voice was dry, but slightly slurred from the alcohol.

"You... pervert. Can't you s.ee thete's a girl in the bathroom?"

Kaoru blinked a couple of times, trying to process the accusation. "Oh... sorry. It's just that I wss goiNg to per..."

...

"Are you...taking a shir?"

Ram glared at him, clearly offended by the question. "No, assjole. Even the lid's not up," she replied, crossing her arms with an annoyed expression.

"I just sat here for a while after washingg my face. Thr dizziness is horrible."

Kaoru let out a sigh of relief and nodded slowly. "Ah... so that's it..." he said, feeling a little less embarrassed about the situation.

Silence settled in for a few seconds, only interrupted by the dripping of the tap that was still running. Kaoru, in his somewhat inebriated state, couldn't help but let out a nervous laugh. "And ti think we'd be alobe in a bathroom... you and I. Hahaha."

Ram narrowed her eyes, her irritation evident. "Spare me the comments, Gooner-kun," she replied sarcastically, though her tone had a tinge of weariness in it.

"Nuh huh." Kaoru shook his head, still smiling. As he looked at her, he noticed the slight blush on her cheeks, probably caused by both the alcohol and the awkwardness of the situation. "What a cute little blushing face... it looks kind of funny."

Ram reacted immediately, lifting her head and returning the comment without hesitation. "Yours is a mess."

---

"Hey, Ram, the sitiation mau not be right, but..." began Kaoru, smiling more openly as he looked into her eyes.

"I already knew you had s-something kinky in mInd, like tge perverted fool you are," Ram replied, with a blush on her cheeks that betrayed her alcoholic state.

"You know, this kiss you gave me this afternoon, I quite liked it," Kaoru confessed, leaning a little closer. "I want more like that."

"You foooil, you won't do anytthing," Ram said, though her voice sounded less convincing than she intended.

Kaoru, with an impish grin, lifted Ram's chin, looking at her intently. "You're so cute. I want tp have yiu all to myself. Is that a sin?" he asked, his tone playful.

"Did the alcohol makke youu horny or something? Cut the shit," Ram replied, though her look betrayed a mixture of curiosity and defiance.

"Come on, don't be a killjoy..." insisted Kaoru, moving a little closer. "Just one kiss... maybe two... maybe three,.. maybe someyhimg more..."

Without a second thought, Kaoru leaned in and kissed Ram softly on the lips, grabbing her chin gently.

Ram was surprised by the kiss, and though she tried weakly to push it away, she couldn't help but let herself be carried away. "You...you stupid horny sog. Leave me aline..." she murmured, but her voice lacked the firmness she was trying to convey.

Despite her words, Ram melted into the kiss, feeling the tension between them melt away. "I...love Roswaal-"

"I can be your Roswaal. I'll drrss Up as a clown and say ptetrntious and cryptic things," Kaoru teased as he kissed her again, this time with more intensity.

Sssmch Mmm...

"Insolemt. Do.n't mock Mr. Roswaal..." replied Ram.

"Your lips are so soft. I feel like melting on them," Kaoru said, enjoying the moment.

"Huh?"

Kaoru blinked in confusion for a second, he thought he heard something.

The warmth of Ram's skin beneath his fingers sent a pleasant shiver down Kaoru's spine as he pressed his body closer to Ram's. The smell of alcohol hung heavily in the air, causing both of them to giggle softly before their lips met once again in a passionate kiss.

Kaoru's hands roamed over Ram's curves, tracing patterns on her dress as he savored the taste of her lips. Ram moaned into the kiss, her heart racing from the feel of Kaoru's rough hands on her body. She could feel his warm breath against her neck, sending tingles down her spine.

Despite the intoxication, Ram could feel herself becoming aroused by Kaoru's touch. His hands moved lower, exploring the curves of her hips and thighs. Ram tried to push him away, but her resistance was weak. "S top it, Kaoru," she murmured, her voice thick with desire.

Kaoru smirked, her eyes flashing with mischief. "You think you can tell me what to do?" he teased. "Youur 're just a maid aftedr all." Despite his words, he couldn't help but enjoy the feeling of Ram's soft, warm skin under his fingertips.

As their kisses deepened, Ram found herself unable to resist Kaoru's touch any longer. His hands moved higher, tracing the contours of her breasts through the fabric of her dress. His touch was both bold and enticing, causing her to shiver with anticipation.

"You r eally are somethinh else," Ram murmured, her eyes locked on Kaoru's. Despite her reluctance, she couldn't help but lean into Kaoru's touch, her body craving more.

While Kaoru is still sitting on the top of the toilet with Ram in his lap, he leans in and passionately kisses her. After a moment, they separate, and their lips linger, connected by wispy strands of saliva.

As Kaoru tries to pull down his pants, he continues to touch Ram. Ram, in turn, starts to explore more, reaching down to touch Kaoru's lower abdomen.

Kaoru's bulge grows more pronounced against Ram's pussy as she squirms slightly.

"Ugh... uour disgusting thing is pressinG against me" Ram uttered in disgust.

"Oh, but it won't be so Dosgusting when yo. y suck it" Kaoru replied with a lascivious smile, his eyes fixed on Ram's neck as he kissed it, eliciting soft moans from his companion.

"Ah! Not There..." Ram couldn't help but groan as Ram's probing touch found a sensitive spot.

"Found your sweet spot, huh?" Kaoru chuckled before biting playfully at Ram's earlobe, causing more involuntary gasps.

Ram responded by squeezing harder on Kaoru's bulge, wincing slightly at the strange yet somehow enticing sensation.

Kaoru winced as well from both pain and arousal, his breath coming in shallow gasps. Ram, taking advantage of the situation, began to ruthlessly tease and stroke Kaoru's growing arousal with practiced movements of her hands.

Meanwhile, Kaoru manages to pull down his boxers, revealing his semi-erect member pressed against Ram's thigh.

Ram kneeled in front of Kaoru, gazing at his impressive erection. It towered over her, its size and girth intimidating but also intriguing. She'd never seen anything like it before.

"What's the matter, scared?" Kaoru chuckled, a playful smile forming on his lips.

"Scared? Ha, please," Ram replied, trying to sound confident. "Ot's jus.t, I've never seen anything so...big before."

Taking a deep breath, she slowly wrapped her hand around the base of Kaoru's shaft, feeling its weight and heat in her palm. With trembling fingers, she began to stroke him.

Biting her lip nervously, Ram parted her lips and took Kaoru's cock into her mouth. She started by sucking gently, learning the rhythm of his breathing as he moaned in pleasure. Her tongue darted out to tease the sensitive head of his penis, sending shockwaves of delight through his body.

"Mmmm, just like tgat..." Kaoru sighed, leaning back against the toilet and running a hand through Ram's hair. He relished the sensation of her warm, wet mouth engulfing him and the gentle massage of her hand on his balls.

As the intensity of Ram's oral pleasure increased, so did his desire for more. He gently pushed her head down further, urging her to take him deeper into her throat. She obeyed, taking more of his length into her mouth each time.

Kaoru ran his hand through Ram's cheek, enjoying the intimacy of their interaction. As she deepened her blowjob, her cheeks hollowed out, and her lips stretched around his girth. Saliva dripped from her lips, adding a slick wetness to the shaft of his cock.

"Mmmm, y ou're really good at this," Kaoru murmured, his voice thick with desire. "you might justt make me fall. in love with you". He couldn't help but feel his orgasm building with each slide of her tongue and suck of her lips.

Ram's arms wrapped around Kaoru's toned thighs, holding on tightly as she took him deeper into her throat. Her face flushed with embarrassment, but she didn't stop. The warmth of her mouth combined with the rhythmic pressure of her tongue sent shockwaves of pleasure through his body.

Kaoru's breathing became ragged, his hips starting to thrust involuntarily into Ram's hungry mouth.

Slurpt slurppp suck

As the intensity built, Kaoru gasped and grabbed a fistful of Ram's hair, pulling her off just enough to watch her face. Her eyes were half closed, her lips slightly sealed around his throbing cock, and a thin line of saliva dripped down her chin.

Ram had already nodded off, exhausted from their intense encounter. Chuckling softly, Kaoru scooped her up into his arms and carried her to her room.

---

"Uhhh... I guess I should see if I can help those three fools and get them to their rooms," Kaoru muttered to himself, as he got up from the floor.

He was still feeling slightly dizzy after the drunkenness of the night. He made his way to the cluttered room where the banquet had been held.

Upon entering, he found Subaru, Rem and Emilia, all asleep on the floor, as if the feast had trapped them in a deep sleep. "Let's make this quick... or I'll end up asleep here too," he said to himself, feeling the exhaustion take hold of him.

Kaoru approached Emilia first, lifted her gently and began to carry her to her room. As he walked, Emilia murmured in her sleep.

"MMMM... Kaoru?" she said, her voice soft and sleepy.

"Are you awake?" asked Kaoru, looking towards her curiously.

Receiving no answer, Kaoru continued walking, but suddenly, Emilia uttered something that stopped him in his tracks.

"You said you wanted to kiss me, but you didn't want to do something, I think you said..." Her voice was mixed with sleep.

"... oh I was drunk, I don't know what you're talking about," Kaoru replied quickly.

"Liar..." replied Emilia, pouting adorably, which made Kaoru laugh softly.

Finally, she reached Emilia's room and gently set her down on the edge of the bed. "Thank you," she said in a soft voice. "I guess good night, Kaoru-kun."

"Sweet dreams."

After making sure Emilia was comfortable, Kaoru headed off to find Rem and Subaru. One by one, he led them to their respective rooms, feeling the exhaustion begin to weigh on him.

"Whew..." he let out a long yawn as he tried to stay alert. "I'm going to pass out..." W̵̼̹̹̖̣̜̻̗͉̒͐h̶͔͙̠̳̺͊̓̿̓ạ̴̧̠͓̮̫͇͐̂̍̂͛̎̽ͅt̶͖̮͍͐̅̎̈́̀̅͘̚'̴̧̧͓̭̬̰͙͉̖́̍ś̸̨̳̼̪͎͙͋̅̓͐̊͑͝ ̴̟͎̹̳̮͓̖̈͂̔͘ġ̵̙͇͍̣͖̪͓̀͊̽́ǫ̵̱͚͕̭͍̦̋͆̽̿̚i̷̛̝̺͔̱̩̞̲̱̦ń̴̨͔̖͚̳͉̖̤̋̂̌͗g̷̤̝̠͍͉̝̝͇̏ ̴̜̳̼̼̼̰̣̭͓͌̇͛̓̍̒͝ͅŏ̴̖̫ń̶͈̝͍̝̦͚̗͑̅̅̓͑̊̕?̴̨̧̬̠̣͎̗̮̖͈͌͂́̾͆̎̃͂͝͠ he muttered, staggering a little. He knew he had only one last effort left.

With a faltering step, he made his way towards some guest room, but exhaustion suddenly caught up with him. He stopped in the hallway, feeling his legs turn to lead. "Just a moment longer..."

Finally, he could no longer and fell to the floor, leaning back against the door. Exhaustion overcame him.

Thin arms wrap around Kaoru's waist. Platinum hair brushes his shoulders.
