Chapter 211: Regrets. Guilt. Pain.
Shock rippled through the commander's nerves, his eyes wide spreading. He had thought only him and the girl knew she was winding back time.
But why? What had made him arrogantly dispatch the possibility that Seiya—who has shown great capabilities up till this point wouldn't catch on?
All his mistakes and oversights since the beginning; the results of his careless actions were finally catching up to him—making his nerves pulse with searing heat.
As Seiya clenched tight the girl's mouth, looming over her and suffocating her, the commander's mind reeled for what he would do to her.
"Sei," he whispered in a shallow breath, and just as the words left his mouth, the girl's face shattered like a mere piece of glass.
Seiya had clenched it so tight, he crushed the girl's face. Blood splattered across the commander's shell-shocked face, the girl's face disfigured.
The girl crumpled to the ground, blood pooling from her smashed face. Her thick blood mixed with particles of her bones and flesh drenched Seiya's hand, dripping onto the already messed ground beneath him.
Once again, the commander was met with an horrific sight of losing one of his people in a ruthless way.
Rage mixed with sorrow seared through the Humanity Saviors already heading toward Seiya, most of them clenching their jaws with biting edge.
Fueled by anger, the male captain with the long hair launched forward, his sword raised and ready to cleave Seiya down the moment he closes the distance.
Before the captain could near Seiya, however, the command cut in front of him, blocking his path, and causing him to abruptly halt mid-flight.
Now, the captain had concluded within him then and there that if this was the commander stopping him again for the nth time like he's been doing, he wouldn't listen.
All hell be damned on the reason he was stopping them from fighting Seiya. Things weren't looking as before. And to them, Seiya has committed a heinous crime worthy of death.
If ever there was a more serious punishment other than ending him, then that was what the captain thought Seiya deserved.
But before he could protest, the commander's voice sounded, thick with emotions, and heavy with authority.
"Do nothing."
The captain wanted to protest, as did the other humanity saviors who stood behind him. But a mere look at the commander's gaze that was covered with a mixture of anger, and pain, the captain couldn't utter a word.
After all, thinking about it, the girl Seiya had just killed was one able to manipulate time. Who knows what the commander had seen?
Moreover, Seiya leaving them that encircled him to the girl able to manipulate time, spoke a lot.
The captain was finally seeing that. But still, if the commander hadn't blocked his path, he was sure he would've gotten Seiya's head.
Preoccupied with stopping his men from doing anything further, drawing their attention to himself, the commander had yet again made another grave mistake.
From the corner of the commander's line of sight, Seiya's staff slid over the commander's shoulder, pressing gently against the captain that stood firm in front of the commander.
The commander's eyes widened, adrenaline surging through his veins as his hand shot up to grab the staff, attempting to voice out a warning.
But, with Seiya's eyes exposed to the world, with those eyes not hidden behind a blindfold, his speed couldn't be matched.
"Ruin," Seiya commanded coldly in a whisper, obliterating yet again, the captain's upper half.
Blood splattered across the commander's form, soaking him. The pieces of the captain splashed all over him.
Met with such a sight over and over again, the usual shocked expression couldn't be found on the commander's face. He was simply silent and blank.
Only the villagers chorused a muffled gasp. And the humanity saviors were ashen from the brutal sight—filled with dread anew.
The two remaining captain's eyes were bloodshot with rage they could barely contain. Their knuckles turned white from clenching too tight. Their hands and weapons trembled from anger.
But they didn't move. Not with their commander standing still like a statue, doing nothing. He had also passed on an order; 'do nothing.'
"Commander," the female captain called, but her raspy voice could barely come out above a whisper.
The commander said nothing, nor did he move. He was still, thinking things over in his head.
What exactly had made him think Seiya would stop just because he had asked his own men to stop? What gave him that confidence?
Yet again, another oversight from his part that has led to the death of two of his men. The commander's mind reeled with pain and regret.
He felt incompetent. But rather than wallow in regrets for how he was supposed to do things, he would rather find a solution to the problem.
He turned to face Seiya that was behind him, but as he turned, Seiya whisked past him like a wind, whispering past.
The commander turned swiftly to follow Seiya with his eyes, his heart pounding like never before. Seiya was headed straight for the two captains upfront.
As they saw him come, they naturally got into their fighting stance, ready for him. The humanity saviors at the back also got ready to join and aid in the fight.
As Seiya headed straight for the two captains, they lunged forward, aiming to intercept him mid-flight. As they closed the distance, both of them attempted to strike simultaneously with practiced precision.
But Seiya dipped, clearing them off the ground with a firm sweeping kick that landed them on the ground.
Instantly, he slammed the tip of his staff onto the female captain's chest, pressing it down firmly by his unyielding grip around the middle of the staff.
With his other hand, he wrapped the male captain's face in a clenching grip. The staff erupted the woman's upper half, while Seiya crushed the man's face—all in a single moment.
In a fit of rage, some of the humanity saviors rushed toward him, while the others who knew not to tread lightly after all they'd seen, stayed back—calculating the best move.
But whether or not they moved, mercy wasn't part of Seiya's agenda for them this day.
With effortless ease and graceful finesse, Seiya shared destruction among all of them, assuring it reached each and everyone of them without fail.
The commander watched in silent guilt and a rising fear at Seiya who stood nonchalantly amid the fresh carnage he had wrought—covered in fresh blood of his men that dropped steadily onto the ground.
