"95...96...97...98...99...Uff... Ugh!" Riser fell face-first to the ground, unable to endure any longer. His eyes were unfocused, and he felt like crying, probably due to the strain on his adolescent body. Little did he know that the strongest member of the Phenex clan was, in fact, his mother. This would explain a lot, considering his father had a power level of at most mid-Ultimate Class, if you really closed your eyes. Even Ruval and Ramon, his two older brothers, were now stronger than their father in demonic reserves.
Of course, reserves were important but not absolute. It had to be remembered that both Razer and Rumix were over 1000 years old. In other words, they had much more fighting experience than all the siblings combined. Maybe only Ruval, thanks to the Rating game, could begin to subvert this.
Riser thought about the history of the past. There was a siege at the Phenex house, and it was quite obvious why they would attack houses like Sitri or Phenex. Both houses had the most healers. So, without them as allies, it was better to eliminate them. During the civil war, during a week-long siege, the Phenex family resisted. During these days, the one who prevented the Phenex house from disappearing was Rumix Phenex, and yes, she was the heir to the Phenex house. And yes, she was the eldest daughter of the Phenex family.
Riser began to think about the strength of his mother, a possible low or mid-Satan. Of course, she wasn't stronger than Grayfia or Serafall, but a mid-Satan a thousand to five hundred years ago was quite respectable. ["To think that she married her younger brother. Really, the supernatural world is messed up!"] thought Riser, thinking that he and his brothers should have been born with two heads, six fingers, and four arms.
But if you think about it, in the beginning, the 72 Demon Pillars were all siblings. And they married each other. So...
"RISER! GET YOUR BUTT UP! OR DO YOU WANT ME TO COME THERE!" Rumix said. Riser couldn't help but curse in his mind. ["Where was your lovely and adorable mother? And why did he have to go through this ordeal?"]
Riser wore a suit with intricate runes that canceled the Phenex demonic magic, hindering its healing ability to very low levels. It also disabled strengthening through demonic energy. According to his brother, Ruval, this training would only happen when he was between 12 to 15 years old, but because he was so strong, he needed to strengthen his body and mind. The Phenexs needed to heal their bodies, but they felt all the pain of their injuries. Thus, Phenex training involved developing a certain tolerance to pain as well as strengthening their bodies.
Unlike human physiology, there was no atrophy occurring in demonic bodies, mainly because they could be healed anyway. But yes, because of their metamorphic constitution, demons could change their appearance, including their muscles and, well, you know, that between the legs. Cough... Cough...
"100...101...102...103...104..." Riser continued to do push-ups.
Riser remembered seeing his mother with a suit in her hands and telling him to put it on as soon as he returned from the Sitri house. Today, he wouldn't train with his brother but with his mother. What he didn't know was that his mother and an immortal witch would get along very well. (A/N: This outfit is very similar to the weighted clothing that Whis gave Goku and Vegeta for training.)
Even giving his all, being a newly ascended Ultimate Class, Riser couldn't withstand this training; he had been doing it for hours. He wasn't even counting anymore. His breathing started to hitch, black bubbles appeared, and for some reason, he couldn't breathe. Then, everything went black, and he passed out. (A/N: This shows that the MC really hadn't trained his body properly. Of course, he trained in secret. But using the background spell of body strengthening made it all kind of pointless. The MC hadn't developed any muscles yet, as is clear.)
Riser began to have an unpleasant dream about what happened at the Sitri house.
** (Sitri - Pajama Party) (previous night)
The night unfolded with laughter, jokes, and, of course, a Miracle Levia-Tan marathon. Serafall was determined to keep the atmosphere light-hearted as everyone watched TV show episodes. Riser, in turn, tried to integrate into the group, joining in conversations and laughing at jokes.
The sound of laughter, the glow of the television, and the aroma of delicious snacks filled the room. Serafall, with her lively personality, made sure everyone had maximum fun. After each episode, she commented on favorite moments and made jokes related to the plot.
["This is the typical pajama night I imagined... well, almost typical."] Riser reflected, trying to enjoy the moment despite the nervousness about the hostess. As the night progressed, he began to feel more at ease and even found himself genuinely laughing at the funny scenes in the show.
At a certain point, Serafall announced that it was time for a game session. She brought magical board games that challenged the minds and strategies of the participants. Sona, Seekvaira, and Latia were excited, while Riser tried to keep up.
["Okay, maybe this party isn't as bad as I thought."] Riser pondered, surprised at himself for having fun in that context. The relaxed atmosphere of the activities temporarily made him forget the initial tension.
During the games, Serafall continued to surprise Riser with her ability to turn even the simplest situations into something peculiar and captivating. Her charisma, combined with the party's fun atmosphere, ended up winning even the reluctant Phenex's heart.
But then everything turned to the worst when everyone decided to play chess. They wanted to show each other who was the best "King" through their strategy.
Sona and Riser beat all the other members in chess, but for some reason, Serafall didn't play. But she had a wide smile, almost as if she had planned for everyone to play with Sona, and she beat everyone.
But what she didn't expect was that while playing against Riser, victory couldn't be achieved.
"Checkmate."
"Again!"
"Checkmate."
"One more!"
"Checkmate."
"Urgh! From today on, you are my Rival!"
** Serafall's gentle and happy smile, thinking her plan was going smoothly, crumbled. The idea of leaving Sona with higher esteem was completely destroyed by this boy. So she decided to mess with this boy a little. For some reason, her Serafall staff cracked again.
These staffs nowadays are very fragile. Mou~*
** Riser sighed in relief, thinking he had gotten out of trouble. Big mistake! Little did the poor guy know that the game had just begun.
Serafall gave a mischievous little laugh and said, all sweetly:
"So-chan, Ris-chan, Rias-chan, Seek-chan, La-Chan, it's time for us to have some fun!"
She snapped her fingers, and - puff! - Riser, Sona, Rias, Seekvaira, and Latia's clothes turned into smoke, leaving him naked. Everyone turned as red as a pepper and tried to cover up, except Rias, who for some reason was completely normal, but it didn't matter. Serafall gave a muffled laugh, admiring the boy's anatomy.
"Kyaaa! Ris-chan and So-chan got shy! How cute!" - squealed Serafall.
With another snap of her fingers, magical girl clothes appeared on everyone. Twirly skirts, loose stockings, bow ties... Even a pink wand appeared in their hands!
"Ready! Now everyone is magical girls!" - announced Serafall, satisfied. Riser wanted to bury his head in the sand. It was humiliating! But Serafall didn't care.
The girls laughed and took pictures. Serafall adorned Riser's blonde hair with bows and ribbons. The boy was getting pissed off, but he held back. He didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone. At least he's not the only one being humiliated here.
"Can I just go to the bathroom for a minute?" - Riser pleaded, already at his limit.
Serafall, who realized that Riser wanted to escape, didn't let him leave so lightly. ["Do you think I'm going to let him go for a minute, Ris-Chan? Your shy face is so adorable. I'm going to intimidate you even more. I'm going to take the girls to bathe too!"] thought Serafall, nodding her head and making ["umu-umu"] in her head.
"Does anyone want to take a bath? After all, we played a lot, right? Taking a bath will help us relax." Serafall said, with eyes like crescent moons and a "sweet" and "gentle" smile.
"Yes! That would be great!" said Rias, who didn't mind others seeing her. Probably a manifestation of her devil sin. Vainglory.
"All right, I don't see any problem." said Seekvaira, trying to maintain her noble facade. For her, it wasn't really that important; it's not like anyone was going to touch her.
Sona just nodded her head shyly, as her sister always asked outrageous questions.
Latia accepted with indifferent acceptance.
Riser, who had been cornered, couldn't retreat except reluctantly. Somehow, Serafall turned the whole situation against him.
"C-Certainly!" Riser, who wanted to run away, couldn't relieve himself because he had almost managed to get a breather. He couldn't go into the bathroom and lock the door and escape. What a mess he had gotten himself into...
** (A/N: Next Chap... Let's skip ahead to his Devil pieces. As you can see, Riser is much closer to the main characters than in the normal story. We can even say that they are childhood friends. It was good to write these chapters, a bit slow, but let's start rushing for his Pariato. XD)
