Chapter 11: Transformation Technique

A/N: Since I was close to finishing writing this chapter, I put some effort to release it and not let you guys hanging, but I won't be able to write a whole chapter everyday, sorry everyone.

After several days of training, Yuuki finally began to understand Tsunade's methods.

Mastering medical ninjutsu wasn't just about having enough chakra—it demanded an extraordinary level of precision and control, something far beyond the brute force techniques he was used to.

Standing beside a small river cutting through the forest surrounding Konoha, Tsunade crossed her arms, watching him with a knowing look.

"You have no idea how vast the difference is between using chakra to destroy and using it to heal," she said.

She crouched, dipping a hand into the water, letting it ripple around her fingers. "When you punch someone, the damage isn't just what you see on the surface—scratches, bruises, a little blood. The body looks simple because it heals so quickly, but if you could see it on a microscopic level, you'd realize just how intricate life really is."

"So?" Yuuki asked, his tone skeptical, not fully grasping the significance of her words.

Tsunade chuckled, shaking her head. "You really don't get it, do you?" She crossed her arms and began to explain.

Tsunade smirked, flicking a droplet of water from her fingers. "Think about it. When you hit someone, you're not just damaging skin and muscle. Beneath the surface, there are nerves, blood vessels, and microscopic structures working together to keep the body running. A single blow can rupture countless cells, disrupt energy pathways, and create a chain reaction of internal damage."

Yuuki frowned, finally giving her words more thought.

Tsunade continued, "Healing isn't as simple as closing a wound. It requires rebuilding what was broken—cell by cell, tissue by tissue—without making a mistake. Even the slightest error in chakra control can accelerate cell death instead of recovery, making things worse. That's why most shinobi never learn medical ninjutsu. They don't have the patience or the precision for it."

She stood up, brushing the water off her hands. "If you want to learn this, you need to change the way you think about chakra. It's not just a weapon—it's an intricate tool that requires absolute precision."

Yuuki frowned, still unconvinced. "I don't get it. You keep making chakra control sound like some impossible art, but I don't see what makes it so complicated. If you don't show me, how am I supposed to understand?"

His tone carried more frustration than he intended, but Tsunade only smirked, clearly amused by his impatience.

"If you're so confident, then why don't you shatter one of these boulders with a single hit?" She gestured casually toward a nearby rock.

"What?" Yuuki blinked, incredulous. "Are you joking?"

"Why? Can't you?" Tsunade tilted her head, feigning innocence. "You do know that by properly gathering chakra in different parts of your body, you can greatly enhance your strength, right?"

Yuuki's expression darkened. "Of course I know that. But who are you trying to fool? If having a lot of chakra was all it took, I wouldn't need to train so hard every day. I could be like Kushina, sending people flying with a single punch."

Tsunade smirked. "Heh, that's just brute force. If raw chakra reserves were the answer to everything, my grandfather wouldn't have died." She cracked her knuckles before glancing at him. "You have the Byakugan, don't you? Turn it on and watch my fist."

Rolling his eyes, Yuuki activated his dōjutsu and focused.

Tsunade, now ignoring him, approached a massive boulder—at least three meters tall. She didn't take a stance or gather visible momentum. Instead, she simply drew back her fist and struck forward with what seemed like a casual motion.

Yuuki's vision sharpened, tracking her chakra flow in real-time.

At first, there was nothing unusual—her chakra circulated normally, undisturbed.

Then, time seemed to slow.

Why isn't she doing anything?

The moment her fist was just a fraction of a centimeter from the rock, her chakra flared violently, surging through her system with an almost supernatural speed.

It shot from her heart to her arm, condensed into her fist, and—just as she made contact—erupted outward with explosive force.

The reaction was staggering.

The energy released was far beyond anything Yuuki had expected. What looked like an effortless strike turned into a devastating shockwave.

The boulder didn't just crack—it exploded, sending debris flying in every direction.

Yuuki took a reflexive step back, his pale eyes widening.

Seeing Yuuki's astonished expression, Tsunade smirked inwardly, a flicker of pride swelling in her chest. 'That's more like it. This is how people should react to my technique.'

She was reminded of the day she first demonstrated it to Orochimaru—how he had merely observed with that blank, unreadable expression, his golden eyes devoid of any real interest.

Thinking about it now, she couldn't help but scoff internally. 'He's the abnormal one. Anyone else would be shocked after seeing that.'

"Can you think of a reason this happens?" Tsunade asked, her tone expectant.

Yuuki replayed the scene in his mind, analyzing every detail. He couldn't quite pinpoint the exact mechanism, but two things stood out—the precise timing of her chakra enhancement and the way she released it upon impact rather than keeping it in her fist.

"Is it… the compression of chakra right before impact that causes the force to explode outward?" he guessed.

Tsunade smirked, nodding in approval. "Not bad. Your eyes really are sharp."

She crossed her arms, glancing at the shattered remains of the boulder. "Chakra-enhanced strength works by mobilizing chakra directly from the heart in an instant. Not only does it have to travel to the fist at extreme speed, but it also needs to be released with pinpoint accuracy at the exact moment of impact. If there's more than a tenth of a second delay, the power is lost."

Yuuki absorbed her words, his mind racing to process the mechanics.

"As for why it creates such an explosive effect," Tsunade continued, "it has to do with how violently the chakra is manipulated at that moment. It's like an in-between state—chakra that hasn't undergone nature transformation yet but is right on the verge of it. That instability is what amplifies the force."

Hearing her explanation, Yuuki frowned, completely lost. Despite being from a clan, he was still too young to learn advanced ninjutsu—especially anything beyond the academy's curriculum. How was he supposed to grasp something this complex?

"I don't get it," he admitted.

Tsunade merely shrugged. "Doesn't matter. Even if you understood, your chakra control isn't anywhere near refined enough to pull it off."

Yuuki exhaled, already tired of the endless lectures. "Fine, fine. Then what's today's training?" Hoping to escape another long-winded explanation, he quickly changed the subject.

Tsunade smirked at his impatience. "Heh, this brat…"

She lifted a finger and pointed toward the river. "Take off your shirt and walk on the water. Your goal is to stand on it without sinking."

With a nod, Yuuki pulled off his shirt and let it fall to the ground. Stepping toward the riverbank, he glanced back at Tsunade.

"What now?"

"Same as tree climbing," she said, arms crossed. "Coat your feet with chakra and try walking on the water. But this time, I'm not giving you any tips. You've got one week to figure it out."

Yuuki blinked. "Huh? What do you mean?"

Tsunade rolled her eyes. "What else? You think I have time to stand here and watch you train every day? I'd rather be at the casino."

Without waiting for his response, she turned and strolled away, leaving Yuuki standing there, dumbfounded.

Letting out a sigh, he shook off his irritation and focused on the task ahead.

There was no point in complaining.

...

Time seemed to pass in the blink of an eye.

With training progressing smoothly, whether in Taijutsu or medical ninjutsu preparation, Yuuki, Duy, and Kushina had all improved by leaps and bounds.

For academy students like them, results were best reflected in their test scores.

"Look, look, Yuuki! I made the top 10!"

Kushina bounced excitedly beside him, fists raised in celebration.

Pinned to the classroom notice board, the most recent test results were displayed for all to see.

Kushina Uzumaki

Theoretical Subjects: 5

Taijutsu: 10

Survival: 10

Physical Education: 10

Practical Combat: 10

Yuuki smiled at her enthusiasm before sweeping his gaze over the board to find his own name. As always, his scores were perfect.

Hyuga Yuuki – 10 across the board.

And, right beside his name, tied for first place—

Namikaze Minato – 10 across the board.

Yuuki sighed inwardly. As much as he hated to admit it, Minato was ridiculously diligent. His progress was steady, relentless. No matter how much effort Yuuki put in, Minato kept pace every step of the way.

Still, some other names stood out as well—figures that would one day leave their mark on history.

Senju Nawaki, heir of the dwindling Senju Clan.

Nara Shikaku, the quiet genius with a habit of slacking off.

Yamanaka Inoichi, the gentleman of the class, effortlessly charming and always in the company of friends—especially the girls.

Akimichi Choza, who, unsurprisingly, was currently munching on a bag of chips.

Yuuki glanced over his shoulder, easily spotting them among the students.

And there, at the very back of the class, surrounded by a group of eager boys, was Senju Nawaki.

He wasn't around often. With the Senju Clan's elders personally overseeing his training, he rarely attended class unless there were new subjects being introduced—or when it was time for exams.

Okaru-sensei stood at the front of the classroom, his voice steady and authoritative.

"Alright, everyone, take your seats. Today, we will begin learning the 'Three Basic Ninjutsu'—a fundamental requirement for anyone hoping to graduate as a Genin."

A murmur of excitement passed through the students as they quickly settled into their places.

"Please open your textbook titled 'Ninjutsu in the Academy'."

Pages rustled as they obeyed, eyes turning toward their instructor as he continued.

"As you all know from our previous lessons, every living being possesses chakra to some extent. Chakra is a form of natural energy, generated as a byproduct of the intersection between one's physical and spiritual energies."

Okaru-sensei paced slightly as he spoke, his tone measured and precise.

"Physical energy comes from the body—your muscles, organs, and cells. A strong, well-trained body generates more physical energy."

He paused, allowing the information to settle before moving on.

"Spiritual energy, on the other hand, comes from the mind and soul. It is cultivated through experience, knowledge, meditation, and natural growth. Unlike physical energy, which fluctuates based on training and health, spiritual energy continues to grow steadily throughout a person's life—though at a much slower pace."

Okaru-sensei turned to the class, his sharp gaze scanning their faces.

"Mastering ninjutsu requires a deep understanding of this balance. The stronger your body and mind, the more chakra you can mold at any given moment."

He lifted his textbook, tapping a finger against the open page.

"Turn to page five and take a look at the diagram."

Yuuki flipped through the pages, his eyes landing on the illustration. It depicted a shinobi forming a hand seal, with two spheres—one red, one blue—merging below it.

The caption beneath read: "Chakra actively molded for the purpose of using ninjutsu."

Okaru-sensei gestured to the diagram as he continued.

"As you can see, a ninja doesn't continuously mold chakra. Unless there's a need, we rely on our natural reserves. Molding too much chakra drains both physical and spiritual energy, leaving us fatigued. This is a natural limit that no one can bypass."

Turning the page, he moved on to the first of the three fundamental ninjutsu they would be learning.

"Now, let's discuss the Transformation Technique. This is a basic but essential skill that allows you to alter your appearance and, in some cases, your physical attributes. It's primarily a Yang Release technique, as it taps into the body's natural ability to change its properties. However, because it doesn't require any Nature Transformation at all, we don't classify it as such."

Before he could continue, a student raised a hand.

"Sensei, what exactly is Nature Transformation?"

Okaru-sensei smiled at the question. "Good question. Nature Transformation refers to the process of altering the chakra's properties to perform specific techniques. If you wanted to use Lightning Release, for example, you would need to modify your chakra so it behaves like lightning. Each elemental release—Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Lightning—follows the same principle.

"As for Yang Release, it represents the power of life itself, enhancing physical abilities and manipulating the body's inherent properties."
