Chapter 25: Chapter 25: Price of loyalty
Built to be cunning
"Drag her in! The guard shouted, delivering another whip on the lady's back. Her lip was bruised, and her short brown hair disheveled. Her knees were red, as both her wrists were bound in chains that rattled as the guard dragged her on the floor leading to the meeting room.
Ramah had just stepped into the courtroom, her blue eyes nonchalantly fixed on the lady that was dragged along the tiled floor.
Ramah's hair was fixed up in a complicated bun with braids, with some strands of hair falling side by side on her face.
She was wearing a brown gown with long flared sleeves and a zip running from her chest up to her neck.
She had her lean fingers crossed in front of her elegantly as she reclined on the railings of the upper desk.
"Ahhh! Teri screamed as she was pushed violently in front of Ragaleon's throne.
Her fair skin was now smeared with dirt, and her arms and elbows were bruised.
There was murmuring in the court hall; there were high officials present in the room to witness how the king would dispense his judgement on a concubine that tried to kill Diego.
Ragaleon had his gaze fixed on the woman in front of him; he then shifted his gaze to Bransdon, who was standing at his left-hand side, giving him a signal to proceed.
Brandon bowed curtly before straightening up, his blonde hair and blue eyes giving him handsome features.
"Today we are all present to witness the dispersion of justice by his royal Highness, Ragaleon Clegane! Brandon started off with a high-pitched voice, and the hall fell into silence.
"The accused will now be brought forward for questioning, and if found guilty, will be punished accordingly." Brandon said, and Teri was dragged forward, her head hanging down.
But then one of the guards, with his capable hand, clenched her jaws firmly and made her raise her face to gaze at Brandon as he questioned her.
"Do you deny the allegations against you? Brandon asked with a strict countenance.
His hands crossed behind his back, and his chest out. His blonde hair was brushed to slip backwards, the pattern of the comb shown on his hair.
"I…I deny the allegations." Teri, she said, coughing out blood; her lips were seriously bruised. Immediately after she said those words, the crowd broke into murmuring.
"Silence! Ragaleon echoed, and the hall became as quiet as a graveyard.
"What did you have against Diego, to have tried to kill him?
"I just told you, I deny the allegations against me. Why then would I have anything to do with…with Diego! Teri raised her voice in anger, and a slap was struck against her face.
"Speak to the hand of the king with respect." The guard holding her whispered. Teri's eyes rolled as she felt her head spin, blood trickling from the corners of her lips.
"Please…please let me go." She begged, her breath etched as she tried to gasp for air.
"I am innocent; I have nothing to do with this." Teri said her eyes stung with tears.
"The crown and the council will decide whether or not you are innocent; for your convenience, answer the questions thrown at you." Brandon said without any sympathy in his voice. His blue eyes held a depth of mystery.
"Where were you on the day Diego arrived at the castle?
"I…I was in the concubine's harem, serving my mistress." Teri said frankly.
"I see." Brandon retorted sarcastically before clapping his hand twice.
Dina, the woman in charge of the concubines' harem, was led inside escorted by two guards. She kept a straight face as she was brought before the throne, standing in front of Ragaleon but facing Brandon.
Her short bob hardly moved as she turned.
Teri's eyes were filled with a glint of hope when she saw Dina, but Dina didn't even spare her a glance.
"You are the one in charge of the concubines' harem, right? Brandon asked, his gaze fixed on Dina.
"Yes, Lord hand." He was called Lord Hand because he was the hand of the king. Second in command if the king wasn't around.
"Do you know this lady? Brandon asked, referring to Teri.
Dina finally shifted her gaze to Teri, her face still not plastered with any concern.
"I do, Lord hand." She said, shifting her gaze back to him. Teri sighed in relief, blinking her eyes rapidly, trying to hold back any tears that were threatening to come.
"Was she with you on the day of Diego's arrival to the guest house? Brandon asked with a penetrating gaze. Dina was silent for a while, her eyes distant….
"No, Lord hand." She said, and the crowd broke into murmuring. Teri's face fell as tears flowed down her cheeks. She slowly gazed at Dina, the woman she has served faithfully all her life, and she broke into tears.
"You may go." Brandon said, and Dina was escorted out. As she was making her way out, a figure in a purple-colored gown arrived at the upper deck of the hallway inconspicuously.
She didn't take the main door; instead, she took the stairs leading to the upper deck, where royalty usually resided when in the court meeting.
Jazell's shoulder-length blonde hair was parted in two and brushed to fall side by side on her face. The purple gown she wore had three golden chains on the waistline. Her thick lashes gave a seductive look, and her blue eyes were magnetic.
Jazell gracefully stood erect, her hands crossed behind her back; it was then Dina locked gaze with her. Dina glared at Jazell with no void of emotions before finally retrieving her gaze as she was escorted out of the courtroom.
Ramah had traced Dina's gaze to Jazell; she scrutinized Jazell for a while, and the latter finally gazed at her, a fleeting glance, before returning her gaze to the scene in front of her.
At this point Teri didn't know what to say; if she could be denied by her own mistress, then who was going to save her? Her shoulders dropped as all the glint of hope disappeared.
"This poison was found in your possession after a thorough search by the royal guards. Do you deny this? Brandon said, bringing out a small bottle of liquid, he raised it in the air for everyone to see.
There was now clustered murmuring; someone from the crowd shouted.
"Murder!
"I do not know how it got there; I have nothing to do with that bottle of poison." Teri answered calmly.
All these questions were just formalities to make her look guilty; she has been accused falsely. She knew her end had come, but she would never agree to a thing she didn't do; that was where her integrity was.
"Yet it seems, though, that your face has become pale; all the evidence is before you. Yet you still chose to deny it." Brandon said calmly, then slowly turned to Ragaleon.
"Your Majesty, she has been found guilty." He said to Ragaleon, who was seated with his legs lazily crossed, his lean fingers drumming on the arm of the throne. He had a death glare.
"Ramah! Ragaleon calmly called out without even tilting his head towards the upper deck. He knew she had been standing there all this while.
Ramah was a bit stunned.
"Your majesty." Ramah answered gracefully, with her sonorous voice highlighted.
"Your parents are not here, and as such, you will be a representative of the house, Jerrah. Which punishment would it please you to be administered on this whore?" Ragaleon asked without mincing words.
Everyone now had their gaze fixed on Ramah; the latter's gaze was distant for a while.
"Death…death by hanging." Ramah said, and Teri trembled, her lips quivering.
"So be it, the court is dismissed." Ragaleon said, rising to his feet, and all those who had been seated slowly rose to their feet. Ramah slowly made her way out, but Jazell remained standing, her hands still crossed behind her back.
No other royal family except for Jazell's had been present to witness the dispersion of justice by the king.
"No…no! Please, I didn't do it, I swear! Teri cried out as the guards began to drag her away.
"There are hundreds of concubines! It could be them; I am innocent. Somebody stop this! She cries, struggling with the guards as she is dragged.
Suddenly Teri's eyes locked with Jazell's for some seconds. She was quiet, her eyes only filled with tears, before she was finally dragged away.
....
It was nightfall in the kingdom of Decreash. At the time, royal guards were already patrolling the castle armed with swords.
"Agh! Oh! Umm!
The moans escaped. Dina's lips moaned in ecstasy as she grabbed the blondie's hair that was doing things to her.
"Don't stop, oh! Shit!
Her eyes rolled as she pushed her wet, horny pussy down from the blondies to have more access.
"Aghhh! Oohhh! Uhhhm! Fuck me!
Dina pinched her nipples and threw her head backwards. The candles in the room glistened on the sweaty and smooched bodies.
"Drink it! Drink my honeyyyy! Ohh! She moaned, rocking her body back and forth as she smooched her breasts and pressed them firmly, her fingers pressing her nipples.
"Come here." She said, Removing the blondie's face from down there, her voice filled with desire.
She pressed her lips against hers as the blondie sat on her lap and encircled her hands around Dina's neck. They kissed for a while.
"Sweet, horny bitch! Dina moaned as her hand slowly slid under the blondie's thighs into her wet spot.
"Agh! Blondie starts jerking, breaking away from the kiss.
"Uhm! Oh! Go deeper! She moaned and started bouncing on Dina's hands as if they were a cock.
"Scream my name." Dina said things to her.
"Diana! Oh Dinaaa! Oh, oh! Agh! Blondie moaned, still rocking in Dina's lap.
This was the scene Jazell came to meet when she stepped into the room.
"Hhhm, Hhm! She cleared her throat as she slowly took off the cloak she had used to conceal her face.
"You both will rot in the deepest part of hell." Her voice cooed sinfully as she took a step into the room.
Dina's face was filled with sweat; she immediately pushed Blondie away from her lap to see who it was, and Blondie fell from the bed with a thud.
"You…" Dina's voice was laced with anger.
"Yes, me." Jazell said, holding a napkin up to her nose.
"What do you want from me? Oh, wait…" Dina scoffed.
"My life?! She questioned sarcastically, climbing down from the bed; her heavy boobs jingled. She reached out to a black robe and covered herself up. The Blondie walked out of the room.
"Don't be ridiculous, Dina; I am only here to apologize and make it up to you." Jazell said, still holding up the napkin to her nose, her sweet voice echoing in the night.
"You are like a cunning snake; you can't be trusted." Dina said, pouring herself a cup of wine from a jar on a desk in the room.
"But you trusted me…
"And I regret it! Dina got angry and threw the cup of wine at a wall opposite her.
"I only had one job, and that was to protect Teri. I swore to her mother that I would protect her; she was brought under my service for protection! Dina ravaged, sweeping the things on her desk on the floor, then she ran her hand through her thick, bulbous hair.
"We all have to make sacrifices, Dina… Jazell started off darkening her face.
"And we lose our loved ones on the way to attaining a better life." Jazell said, bringing out a bag filled with golden coins, she threw it at Dina, but it landed on the floor since the latter showed no interest in catching it midair.
"I don't need your money; it can't bring back Teri. And it can definitely not pay for her life; that girl served me for fifteen years! I don't think you have ever served anyone that faithfully for a long time." Dina clenched her fist as she took hold of an Indian hemp; she began to smoke.
Jazell tilted her head, then scoffed….
"If I were to give anyone my loyalty, I would lose everything. Take the money, Dina; you might just need it more than you think you do." Jazell said before turning around, she wore the black cloak and then walked out slyly.
Dina shook her head from side to side angrily before gazing at the money. She smoked the hemp as the candlelightradiated on her skin.
"You are so blinded by greediness, you don't see the storm that is brewing against you, Jazell!
