Chapter 1004 THE SECRET ACE
1004 THE SECRET ACE
"SIENNA, what should I do?"
"What?"
"I can't open the door to the other world," Manu confessed while looking at his hands. "My divine power is just passing through the door when it should be absorbing it."
Of course, the other world was just a Dead World.
Hence, it was possible for the Moon Priest like him to open and close a door leading to it.
After all, a Dead World was parallel world that had already come to its end.
[In this case, the Dead World where I sent Princess Neoma and her people is the world that her past self had destroyed herself.]
"Something must have gone wrong then," Sienna said casually. "It's Princess Neoma, after all. She probably did the very thing you asked her not to do."
Manu wanted to defend Princess Neoma since he was loyal to the Moon God.
However…
[Princess Neoma is someone who's hard to defend at times like this.]
After all, he agreed with Sienna's opinion.
Manu told Princess Neoma and the others to avoid direct contact with the people living in the Dead World.
To be honest, it didn't matter even if the Imperial Princess broke the rule.
The people in the Dead World would only stay "alive" as long as Princess Neoma and the others were there.
[Once they leave, the Dead World will return to its dead state.]
In short, it was already impossible to change the fate of the Dead World.
"Princess Neoma and the others probably made contact with their counterparts in the Dead World," Manu said, sighing. "I can correct it, but the damned door wouldn't open."
"Is it possible that something is blocking the door from the other side?" Sienna asked in a serious tone. "The world destroyed by a descendant carrying the blood of a de Moonasterio is a Dead World that you, the Moon Priest, has full authority over. But you've neglected the Dead World for quite some time. Perhaps somebody or something had the chance to secretly open the door without your knowledge?"
It was plausible.
However, what would one gain from entering the Dead World?
The only use it had was to serve as a training ground.
"Why are you still here, Lord Manu?"
Hmm?
Manu and Sienna were both surprised when Trevor Kesser suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
But it wasn't only his appearance that shocked the two of them.
Two hearts.
Trevor Kesser now possessed two hearts.
"Oh, you can tell?" Trevor asked playfully, putting a hand over his chest— pointing at the part where his heart should be. "Gods are known for having several organs, one of the reasons why it's hard to kill them. Sorcerers are arrogant enough to use the same technique to make sure that our Core will be big enough to contain our Mana."
Manu was already aware of that.
As a Moon Priest that served the Moon God faithfully, he wasn't offended.
It wasn't like the Sorcerers were mimicking gods.
They simply need an extra heart since Sorcerers usually have overflowing Mana that can't be contained by a single Core.
And that was really, really amazing.
"This is why Sorcerers are more powerful than the mages in this world," Manu said, impressed. "Mages are already known for their overflowing Mana. If the Sorcerers weren't hunted down, you would have been known as the 'Master of Mana' instead of the mages."
Trevor shrugged arrogantly. "I don't care about that title— I don't need it to prove I'm the strongest."
"Spoken like a true Princess Neoma's loyal follower."
The Sorcerer just laughed.
And then he turned serious right away.
"Why are you still here?" Trevor asked, repeating the same question he dropped earlier. "Don't tell me your divine power isn't enough for you to join Princess Neoma and the others to the other world?"
"It's true that I cannot open the door to the Dead World, but it's not because I lack divine power," Manu said defensively. He was insulted that Trevor Kesser even doubted the amount of divine power that he possessed as the Moon Priest. "We suspect that something is blocking the door from the other side."
Sienna nodded, deciding to finally chime in after watching Trevor Kesser in awe. "We think someone or something else had sneaked into the other side."
"Then why don't you just destroy the door?"
"Do you think it's that easy to—"
BANG!
That was the loud sound of the ridiculously large amount of Mana that came out of Trevor Kesser's palm— ultimately destroying half of the Imperial Shrine.
Yes, the Imperial Shrine that even Lord Yule was fond of.
Manu was already yelling at the top of his lungs before he even realized it. "You crazy bastard!"

TSK.
Nero suddenly felt annoyed for some reason.
He was in the middle of taking a break from sparring with the insolent Spirits of the male Rosehearts who challenged him when he felt it.
It's as if someone touched my belongings and destroyed it.
"Y-Your Imperial Majesty!"
Nero tried to calm down before he faced Dahlia who was running towards him in a hurry. "What is it?"
"I received a message from Sir Melvin Lucchesi," Dahlia said nervously when she stopped in front of him. "Apparently, Trevor Kesser destroyed half of the Imperial Shrine!"
The Imperial Shrine?
Ah, darn it.
Nero pinched the bridge of his nose. "Get ready, Dahlia— we're returning to the palace now."

TREVOR ran away from the Imperial Palace.
Melvin Lucchesi, the crybaby future Imperial Chamberlain of the Great Moonasterion Empire, had seen him destroy half of the Imperial Shrine.
[I'm sure he already reported it to Emperor Nero.]
He didn't have the time to deal with the young emperor's wrath, so he escaped.
And his location?
"I almost got bored waiting for you, Trevor Kesser."
Ah.
Regina Crowell, who was currently "locked up" inside a huge guest room in the Hazelden Kingdom's main palace, greeted Trevor while lying down on the sofa lazily.
[It's as if she's already expecting me.]
"You have two hearts now," Regina said excitedly, abruptly getting up. And then she laughed like the lunatic that she was. "Did you eat Dilan's heart?"
He was actually impressed that Regina Crowell could tell.
She wasn't a good fighter to begin with, but maybe she had keen senses.
[That probably kept her alive from the hell she was from.]
"I have no use of the little pervert now," Trevor said, raising an eyebrow at Regina Crowell. "Should we start negotiating with each other again?"
After all, Trevor still had a job to do as Princess Neoma's Contractor.
