For two consecutive days, Yuta had been sleeping like a baby without his mother waking him up. At midday, Yuta awoke with a huge yawn and used his left hand to touch his stomach.

So hungry!

With his hair all messy and his chick covered with dried saliva from all the snoring, he sat on his bed. He had severe pain in his head for a minute, as if it had been struck by a hammer.

How long was he asleep? He didn't know.

Before going downstairs, Yuta went to the bathroom to wash his face with warm water and brush his teeth. He staggered all the way downstairs, feeling as though the world was rapidly turning upside down.

Getting to the living room, he gazed at the world clock which was indicating 25 minutes after 2 and with that, Yuta screamed thinking of how long he had slept but he still doesn't know he had slept for a whole 2 days.

He went to the kitchen, got some food, microwaved it, and ate it all. When his hunger returned a few minutes later, he snatched up another dish and microwave, devouring it all in less than half an hour.

"Why am I so hungry?" He hummed to himself.

His stomach caught him off guard, but what's wrong with that? As the saying goes, "If you're hungry, you should eat." Therefore, that was perfectly acceptable.

He drank a lot of water and went to the living room as he turned on the tv and watched the news station for some while as he slumped off on the couch without knowing.

It was already in the evening when Yuta's mom came back from work and saw her son laying on the couch with his pajamas he wore the same day he got home late while the tv was still on.

"Hm..did this kid just sleep for a whole two days?" She hummed to herself when she saw the same pajamas on his body. She walked and drop her handbag on the couch and sat close to Yuta who was drooling like a madman.

His mother tapped him a couple of times to wake up but he refused to wake up. She stood up from the couch with veins on her forehead as she clenched her fist and kissed it.

Time for a fist of love!

"Wake up!!!"

She struck her fist against Yuta's forehead as he jolted off the couch.

"Oh…is it morning?!"

Huh?

His mom was confused as she imagined what kind of dream or paradise her son had gone to.

"Hm..oh, mom it's you…good afternoon."

"Hm? It is currently after seven, therefore it is most likely a pleasant evening.."

"Eh? How long did I sleep after my meal?"

"Look who's talking. You slept for a whole two days locked up in your room."

"Eh? Two whole days?"

How come?!

"Try asking yourself that question because I'm sure you know you probably done something you don't want to admit and that's why you slept for two days straight.."

"Did I really sleep that long?"

"You know what? Go get your ass washed up right now and come down here for dinner."

"Roger that mom."

When his mother most likely made a strange noise and covered her nose, Yuta grabbed his slack ass from the couch and turned to leave. "Stinky brat!"

"I heard you mom,,1-0."

"Shut the hell up and go get your lazy ass cleaned up before I'm done dishing the food."

"Tsk."

Yuta barged inside his bedroom and took off his pajamas and stared at himself in front of the mirror in his room.

"I've changed a lot." He noticed.

Whatever!!

He got inside the bathroom and turned on the hot water gushing out from the shower as he let out a low moan.

This feels good. Awww!

After washing his body thoroughly, he exited the bathroom and changed into his other pair of pajamas as he took the previous one he wore to the laundry.

He left them there as Yuta rushed to the dining table to get his dinner before going to bed.

So he had just spent a whole three days sleeping?

Wow!!

The next day, Yuta woke up feeling energized as the sun hung high in the sky as Yuta walked briskly alongside his mother through the bustling streets of downtown musutafu. It was a special day—one Yuta had anticipated for days.

At fifteen, he had finally convinced his mother that he was responsible enough for a brand-new cellphone, not just any hand-me-down. He received his first phone, which he had for two happy years until a few days ago, when he lost both his wallet and his phone.

His mother, a graceful woman with warm eyes and a determined stride, led the way into a sleek electronics store. The smell of fresh plastic and the hum of new technology filled the air. Rows of shiny devices glimmered under the bright lights, each more dazzling than the next. Yuta's eyes widened with excitement.

"Which one do you like?" His mother asked, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.

Yuta hesitated, overwhelmed by the endless options. "I… I don't know. They're all so cool!"

The store clerk approached, a young man with spiked hair and a friendly grin. "First phone, huh?" he asked.

Yuta nodded. "Not really; I'm receiving a brand-new one as my second because I misplaced the previous one.."

"Well, you want something that's fast, has a good camera, and plenty of storage for your games and photos, right?"

"Exactly!" Yuta said, his enthusiasm bubbling over.

They spent the next half hour examining different models, comparing screen sizes, camera quality, and battery life. Yuta's mother watched patiently, her eyes twinkling with pride as her son carefully weighed his options. Finally, he settled on a sleek black smartphone with a crisp display and a powerful processor.

"This one," Yuta declared, his eyes shining.

The clerk nodded. "Great choice! Let's get it set up."

As they waited for the phone to be activated, Yuta's mother turned to him with a thoughtful expression. "You know, getting a phone isn't just about having fun. It's about responsibility. You'll need to take care of it and use it wisely."

"I know, Mom," Yuta replied earnestly. "I'll be careful with it this time."

She smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I trust you."

With the transaction complete and the new phone snugly tucked into Yuta's pocket, they stepped back into the sunlight. Yuta felt a surge of pride, the weight of the phone a tangible reminder of his growing independence.

"Where to next?" His mother asked.

Yuta grinned. "Can we get something to eat? I'm starving."

They made their way to a cozy café on the corner, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries greeting them at the door. Yuta's eyes lit up when he saw the menu. "I'll have the strawberry parfait!"

His mother chuckled. "You always have a sweet tooth."

As they sat waiting for their order, a soft voice interrupted their conversation. "Yuta?"

He turned to see a familiar figure standing beside their table—Aiko, a girl from his class with long black hair and a shy smile. Yuta's heart skipped a beat. He had been observing Aiko for a while now but had never found the courage to talk to her outside of school.

"H-Hi, Aiko," he managed, feeling his cheeks flush.

"I didn't know you came here," she said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Yeah, it's kind of a special day," Yuta replied, glancing at his mother, who was watching the exchange with an amused smile.

"Special? Why?"

"I just got my second phone and also on a date with my lovely mother," Yuta said, holding it up proudly.

Aiko's eyes sparkled with interest. "That's awesome! What kind did you get?"

Yuta quickly showed her, explaining the features with newfound confidence. As they talked, the initial awkwardness melted away, replaced by an easy friendship.

When their order arrived, Yuta's mother cleared her throat gently. "Would you like to join us, Aiko?"

Aiko hesitated, glancing at the door where her friends were waiting. "I'd love to, but I don't want to intrude…"

"You're not intruding," Yuta said quickly. "Please stay."

She smiled. "Okay, just for a little while."

They spent the next hour laughing and sharing stories, the conversation flowing naturally. Yuta's mother watched with quiet satisfaction, her heart full as she witnessed her son stepping into a new chapter of his life.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, Aiko stood to leave. "Thanks for letting me sit with you. This was fun."

"Yeah, it was," Yuta agreed. "We should do it again sometime."

Aiko's cheeks turned a soft pink. "I'd like that and also..see you in school tomorrow."

After she left, Yuta turned to his mother, a grin spreading across his face. "Today was the best day ever."

She chuckled, ruffling his hair. "It's only the beginning, my boy. Only the beginning."
