Chapter 17: Radiance
Chapter 15
Dominic turned, eyes cold. "Get me a seer. A strong one. If she's still breathing, I'll find her. Even if I have to tear apart heaven and hell."

Dominic POV
The war room was silent.
I stood, my fists clenched over a map, jaw tight with frustration. Dozens of mercenaries, mages, and trackers lined the walls—waiting for my orders.
Then—
*a sudden hum.*
The candles flickered.
A wind swept through the sealed room.
And then—
*Light. Blinding. Divine. Terrifying.*
A portal of pure gold and violet flame cracked open mid-air, and out stepped *Nova*.
Not staggering.
Not confused.
But *glowing*. Skin like moonlight, eyes blazing Paraiba Tourmaline blue, her very presence bending shadows.
Everyone in the room backed away.
I stared, stunned, lips parting—but no words came.
She walked forward slowly, calm… powerful… and climbed *onto the war table* like she belonged there.
She looked down at me with a small, amused smirk.
*"Don't worry."*
*"I'll be okay."*
Silence.
Power pulsed from her skin like a heartbeat. Even the seer in the corner bowed instinctively.
I swallowed hard. "Nova…"
She tilted her head. "You were looking for me?"
I stared up at her. "You disappeared and I told you, you are mine."
She gave a soft laugh. "I ascended."
---
I still hadn't moved. I was frozen, jaw clenched, heart racing in a way he hated.
Nova stood above me on the war table like a queen addressing a court.
Then, gently—almost mockingly—she leaned down… and *patted his head.*
*"If my little sister gets hurt,"* she said, voice calm and deadly sweet,
*"you're getting hurt too."*
For a second, everything went still.
Then her aura cracked—
Her body shimmered—
And in the blink of an eye, she shifted.
*Demon form.*
Horns like obsidian, her wings etched in shadow and flame. Her eyes blazed red-gold, voice echoing with layered power.
A fiery portal tore open behind her.
Before I could reach for her—*say anything*—she stepped one foot inside, then looked back over her shoulder.
*"Tell Cayden not to worry."*
Then—*she vanished.*
The portal snapped shut behind her with a gust of wind and silence so heavy it hurt.
I just stared.
And for the first time in a long time—
*I had no idea what to do.*
---
I don't even know why I'm feeling this way, She is just a servant I bought ------that's why, I don't want to let my money go to waste, I think. I'm just confused.
---
The war room was still heavy with the scent of scorched air and leftover magic.
I hadn't moved. My jaw was tight, my hands clenched, my mind *reeling*.
Then—*slam*—the door burst open.
*Cayden, the leader of the Wolves.*
He stormed in, coat flaring, eyes already scanning the room. "Where is she?! I felt her power spike—where—"
He stopped cold.
The energy still lingered. That unmistakable divine-demonic pressure.Even I couldn't handle it's pressure when she first appeared.
His eyes locked on me.
"…You saw her," Cayden said flatly.
I didn't blink. "She walked in glowing like a goddess."
Cayden stepped closer, wary. "And?"
My expression didn't change. "She patted my head, threatened me, transformed into a demon, and disappeared into a flaming portal."
Cayden blinked. "Wait, *what*?"
I turned to face him, voice cold. "Oh—and she said, *'Tell Cayden not to worry.'*"
Cayden stared. "That sounds… like her."
I nodded slowly. "Yeah. It does."
We stood there in silence for a moment.
Then Cayden muttered, "We're in so much trouble."
I smirked faintly. "Now you get it."
