SCP: A TRUE ANOMALY

Chapter 43: Development

After the ceremony was over, A'malther went back to work on the laboratory, working in improving his own version of SCP-914, with better settings, more options, more functions, and more as he had planned.

Meanwhile, A'habbat sent A'tellif, to obtain the documents and files of SCP-914 from the Foundation. And so, A'tellif opened a portal with her hand daggers, and went through. The portal was barely visible, as it had the same properties as A'tellif herself in camouflage.

After a moment, A'tellif recollected the map from the containment room where SCP-105 was with Raziel, as finally she accepted him, but was still hard for her. Then, A'tellif went through all Floor 1 and more inside Site-19, until finding where all files were saved, and then stealing all files and documents about SCP-914 and each experiment and result.

Without no one, neither the cameras noticing, A'tellif successfully retrieved everything she got to A'habbat, but she told A'tell if to directly give them to A'malther, and so she did.

When A'tellif went to the laboratory and told A'malther about giving him all documents and files about SCP-914, and the map of Site-19, A'malther stopped working, got up, and the first thing he did was hug A'tellif and kissing her forehead, before grabbing everything, and organizing them. A'tellif did blush very slightly, but she rejected the idea instantly, she was only satisfying her god, as she was in the past to her king, her father, the Scarlet King, with whatever she was asked to do.

Thanks to the files and documents, A'malther got able to reach almost finishing what would be the improved version of SCP-914, but it was requiring one thing, what was making SCP-914 as anomalous as it is. And such is something unknown, and so, after some thinking, A'malther got an idea. "If the files and documents are all the information gathered from experiments done using SCP-914, what if the files and documents themselves were used in SCP-914? Would the files reveal secret information? Would be possible to obtain the true and secret reveal of the anomalous properties of each SCP?"

After a moment, A'malther opened a portal, and along A'tellif, observed SCP-914, but for really know if the plan would work, they had try and fail, until making progress. A'tellif placed a file of documents inside the left chamber of SCP-914, and then selected the settings A'malther told her, 'Very Fine'. The results were chaotic, as the files were near destroyed, as they were completely changed by useless results.

They tried again, this time with 'Fine' settings, this time, the file with documents became a diary. Still some sort of file with documents by a way, but not the same though. A'malther decided to give it to A'tellif, for in case she could give it a better use.

In the third try, A'malther told A'tellif to select 'Very Fine' again, but this time, adding a drop of determination to the file before the attempt. A'malther opened a portal and went to his void, grabbing a syringe, and then coming back.

The cameras easily spotted both in SCP-914 since time ago, but obviously, no one in the Facility was really capable of doing anything to A'malther or A'tellif, so all the O5 Council did, was observe, frustrated as how A'malther could have got files, and more angered for seeing them be used as experiment, losing all the important data in them.

After placing the file, and injecting himself the syringe directly in his soul, and extract some liquid, he dropped the liquid on the file, and then, started the process. SCP-914 started having problems from the beginning, as weak red light appeared from inside SCP-914, while also it was doing sounds as it was being complicated. But after a moment of waiting, SCP-914 finished. A'tellif instantly went to check, and grabbed something, instantly giving it to A'malther.

It was red files with the logo of the Foundation, but all the data was completely encrypted very strangely, but A'tellif kind of recognized the language.

A'tellif: "A'malther, my god. This language is encrypted in one of the diverse ancient languages. It does have extremely important data and information on it. This documents are directly related to this machine, but I do not can translate, or fully understand, pardon me my god."

Informative Report: A'malther's Experimentation with SCP-914

Report Compiled by the O5 Council and Foundation Analysts

Incident Overview

The following details summarize the events observed through surveillance as A'malther and A'tellif conducted experiments with SCP-914:

Initial Experiment (Settings: Very Fine):

A'tellif placed a file of documents in SCP-914, per A'malther's instructions. The settings were adjusted to Very Fine.

Outcome: The documents were rendered chaotic and nearly destroyed, producing results that appeared entirely useless and unrelated to the original contents.

Second Experiment (Settings: Fine):

A'tellif adjusted the settings to Fine and repeated the process.

Outcome: The file of documents transformed into a diary, retaining some semblance of the original concept but fundamentally altered.

Action: A'malther handed the resulting diary to A'tellif, believing she might find use for it.

Third Experiment (Settings: Very Fine, with Determination):

A'malther instructed A'tellif to prepare the Very Fine setting once again but added a crucial step: incorporating determination into the process.

Preparation: A'malther opened a portal to his void, retrieved a syringe, and extracted a portion of determination directly from his soul.

Procedure: A small amount of determination was added to the file before placing it into SCP-914.

Outcome: SCP-914 emitted weak red light, coupled with irregular and straining sounds, indicating the process was causing significant internal difficulty. Upon completion, the file was retrieved by A'tellif, who presented it to A'malther.

Final Product

The file emerged transformed into red documents bearing the Foundation logo, but their contents were encrypted in an unfamiliar and ancient language.

Observations on the Output:

Encryption: The data within the files was fully encrypted in a language recognized by A'tellif as one of several ancient scripts.

Data Importance: A'tellif confirmed the contents carried significant and highly sensitive information, including details directly related to SCP-914's functionality.

Translation Limitations: While A'tellif recognized the language, she was unable to fully translate or understand its meaning.

O5 Council's Analysis and Thoughts

1. A'malther's Objectives and Methods

O5-1: "This is a blatant abuse of Foundation property, but we must acknowledge the creativity and resourcefulness in A'malther's experimentation. His use of determination as a catalyst indicates an understanding of SCP-914 that surpasses our own. The implications of his ability to manipulate its output with external factors are alarming."

O5-2: "A'malther's actions appear deliberate and calculated, not driven by mere curiosity. The intent seems to be unlocking secrets within SCP-914 that even we have not discovered. The encrypted language suggests he may now possess insights into its deeper workings—insights we may never fully recover."

O5-4: "The application of determination is both genius and reckless. SCP-914 struggled to process the material, and its internal systems were clearly strained. This poses a long-term risk to the machine's operability. If A'malther pushes it further, we may lose SCP-914 entirely."

2. Implications of the Encrypted Files

O5-1: "The red Foundation-branded files are deeply concerning. Their contents—encrypted in ancient script—hint at a connection between SCP-914 and something older, perhaps pre-dating the Foundation itself. If A'malther can decode these files, he may gain knowledge that shifts the balance of power entirely."

O5-2: "This confirms our suspicion that SCP-914 holds secrets far beyond what we've discovered. It's possible the machine has deeper ties to anomalous phenomena or ancient entities—connections A'malther is uniquely positioned to exploit."

O5-4: "The language of encryption is key here. If A'tellif recognized it, she likely has some connection to the civilization or knowledge system that created it. We need to determine whether A'malther's experiments are uncovering lost technologies or simply hijacking them for his own agenda."

3. A'tellif's Role

O5-1: "A'tellif's expertise in recognizing the script indicates her knowledge extends well beyond what we've previously understood. Her role as A'malther's assistant—and her complete submission to him—grants him access to resources we cannot match. Her loyalty is absolute, and her utility to A'malther is undeniable."

O5-4: "Her inability to fully translate the files is both a limitation and a possible safeguard. For now, A'malther lacks the means to fully decipher the data. However, it is only a matter of time before he finds a way to do so—whether through A'tellif or another method."

4. Frustration Over Lost Foundation Data

O5-1: "The files used as experimentation material were likely critical to Foundation operations. Their loss—especially the data they contained—represents a significant blow to our knowledge base. However, we must balance this frustration against the potential value of observing A'malther's methods."

O5-2: "The loss is regrettable but inevitable. A'malther operates beyond our control, and any attempt to intervene directly would escalate the situation. We must focus on extracting any insight we can from his actions while minimizing further damage."

O5-4: "The encryption of the files indicates that the information may not be entirely lost. If we can obtain access to the translated data, we may recover or even surpass what we initially lost. This, however, depends on A'malther's willingness to cooperate—or our ability to outmaneuver him."

Conclusions and Recommendations

Enhanced Monitoring of SCP-914:

SCP-914's stability and operability are now under threat due to A'malther's experiments. Immediate efforts must be made to reinforce the machine's internal mechanisms and assess any long-term damage.

Decrypting the Red Files:

Understanding the contents of the red encrypted files is paramount. Steps must be taken to determine whether the Foundation has records or technology capable of translating the ancient script.

Strategic Engagement with A'malther:

While his actions are beyond direct control, the Foundation must maintain its diplomatic approach. Building trust and leveraging his interest in human traditions may provide opportunities to access critical information.

Research into Determination's Effects on SCP-914:

A'malther's use of determination raises questions about SCP-914's potential capabilities and vulnerabilities. Further research into this interaction is required to understand and potentially replicate the effects.

Final Thoughts:

The O5 Council recognizes that A'malther's experiments with SCP-914 have set a precedent for unprecedented advancements and risks. While the immediate impact is concerning, the long-term implications of his discoveries could redefine our understanding of SCP-914 and its connection to anomalous phenomena. Careful observation and strategic action are essential moving forward.
