Seven Days Before the End

Chapter 5: Day Two (Part-4) The Price of Survival

As Arya entered the room, he took a few steps forward when suddenly the door slammed shut. The lights flickered off, swallowing the room in darkness.

'Doctor, are you there?' Arya called out, his voice echoing in the emptiness.

Before he could react, something struck him from behind. A sharp pain exploded in his head as he collapsed onto the cold floor. His vision blurred. When he tried to open his eyes, a blinding flashlight made it difficult to see. Blinking rapidly, he finally managed to focus. Someone stood in front of him, gripping a bloodstained stick.

Blood trickled down Arya's neck. He tried to move, but his body felt heavy. He strained to see the figure's face, but shadows hid their features.

'Who… who are you?' Arya whispered.

The figure stepped closer, but the darkness still concealed their identity.

"I told you before.I will have my revenge," the voice sneered.

Arya's chest tightened. That voice... it sounded familiar.

'No… it can't be.'

The figure chuckled. "Yes, it's me, Arya. You rich kids think you're untouchable, don't you?"

Arya tried to move, but his wrists were bound tightly. He glanced around nothing but silence. No one else was there. Just him… and his captor.

'Where is the doctor?' Arya struggled against the restraints.

The rich kid smirked. "You still don't get it, do you? This was all a trap. For you."

'The nurse… she was part of this?'

"But the nurse sent me here," Arya said, his voice hoarse.

"That nurse? I sent her. She led you straight into my hands."

'Why…? Why is he doing this?'

The captor let out a low laugh. "Because you wanted to play hero back then. And now, look at you." His smirk deepened. "People like you don't exist in my world. This is the end of your story."

Raising the bloodied stick high above his head, the rich kid prepared to strike again.

Arya gritted his teeth. 'I can't die here!'

Summoning all his strength, he kicked his captor's leg with full force. The rich kid howled in pain, dropping the stick as he collapsed onto the floor, clutching his leg.

'Now's my chance!'

Arya struggled against the restraints, forcing himself free. His head spun, but he pushed through the pain.

The rich kid writhed on the ground, gripping his injured leg.

Arya didn't hesitate. He sprinted towards the door, his heart pounding. He reached for the handle.

The doctor and nurse rushed out of the office, their footsteps echoing down the hospital hallway. Just as they stepped outside, Hina mother appeared in front of them.

"What happened? Why are you running?" she asked, concern in her voice. "Is there an emergency?"

"Yes!" the doctor replied hastily before running past her.

Hina Mother watched them go, then turned towards the hospital entrance, her curiosity growing.

Meanwhile, the doctor and nurse hurried to Arya's room. Outside the door, they found Riya standing there. Without hesitation, the doctor pushed the door open and scanned the room. Arya was gone.

"Where is Arya?" the doctor demanded, turning to Riya. "Tell me, fast!"

Riya hesitated, biting her lip.

"Speak, or I'll have your license revoked!" the doctor warned, his patience running thin.

"I'm sorry, doctor…" Riya's voice trembled. "He… he told me to do it."

The doctor narrowed his eyes. "Where is he?"

"The… the fourth floor," she admitted.

Without wasting another second, the doctor turned to the nurse. "Bring Riya with us!"

They ran to the fourth floor. When they arrived, they found a long hallway lined with doors all locked.

"Which room is it?" the doctor asked urgently.

"I—I don't know exactly," Riya stammered. "I just know it's on this floor."

Nurse, we need to find him before it's too late,' the doctor said. 'The rich kid is angry. He could do anything. We need to stop him,' the doctor thought

The doctor clenched his fists. "Then we check them all. Hurry!

Okay, doctor,' the nurse replied."

The team split up, opening doors one by one. Time was running out.

As Arya struggled to open the door, the ground beneath him started shaking violently. The tremors grew stronger—an earthquake. Objects crashed to the floor, and Arya could barely keep his balance.

Downstairs, the hospital staff and nurses were guiding patients toward the emergency exits.

"This way! Hurry!" a nurse shouted, directing people to safety.

Back in the room, Arya kept trying to force the door open, but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly, a heavy locker tipped over, falling straight toward the rich kid, who was still on the ground.

Without thinking, Arya lunged forward, grabbing the rich kid and pulling him away just in time. The locker crashed to the floor with a deafening bang.

The rich kid, panting, looked up at Arya in disbelief. "Why… why did you save me?"

"No time for that," Arya said. The tremors were getting worse, the walls cracking around them.

Outside, the nurses and doctors hesitated.

"We have to go!" a nurse urged.

But the doctor shook his head. "We can't leave them behind."

Riya, panicked, ran away without a word. The doctor and nurse remained, their eyes fixed on Arya's door.

Inside, Arya glanced at the rich kid. "Now's not the time to talk! We need to get out of here!"

"The door won't open! What do we do?"

Before Arya could answer, the wall near them cracked, dust and debris filling the air. Without hesitation, Arya kicked the door—again and again.

Outside, the nurse heard a faint banging. "Doctor! Someone's knocking from inside!"

"Where?" the doctor asked urgently.

The nurse pointed. "There!"

The doctor rushed over. "Arya! Are you in there?"

Arya heard his voice and shouted back, "Doctor! The door won't open!"

The doctor and nurse pushed and pulled at the door, but it wouldn't move.

"Arya, step back!" Arya shouted.

"I'm kicking the door, please move!" he said to the docter and nurse.

Arya, be careful, the walls are cracking!' Nurse warned. She quickly moved away from the door and grabbed the railing.

Arya took a deep breath, then with all his strength, delivered one final powerful kick. The door burst open just as pieces of the ceiling started falling.

The doctor grabbed the rich kid, supporting him as he struggled to walk.

"We have to move! The building could collapse any second!" the doctor urged.

They rushed toward the stairs. As they reached the lower floors, Arya suddenly stopped.

"Hina…" he muttered.

"What?" the doctor asked.

"I didn't see Hina. Where is she? And her mother?" Arya's eyes darted around frantically.

The doctor's face paled. "Her mother left earlier… but Hina"

"She's still inside," the nurse realized.

A chill ran down Arya's spine.

"We need to help her!" a nurse called out.

But before anyone could react, Arya sprinted back into the collapsing building.

"Arya, stop! It's too dangerous!" the doctor yelled.

But Arya didn't listen. He dodged falling debris, leaping over broken furniture as dust and rubble filled the air. The stairs were blocked, but he scanned the area, looking for another way up.

Then he saw it—a collapsed wall from the first floor. It was slightly higher, but climbable.

Taking a deep breath, Arya steadied himself. The building trembled violently, but he ran forward, dodging falling chunks of the ceiling. He jumped, gripping the edge of the broken wall and pulling himself up.

At last, he reached Hina's room. The door was closed.

"Hina! Are you there? Say something!" he called out.

A faint voice replied, weak and barely audible.

Without hesitation, Arya kicked the door open. A thick cloud of dust filled the room, making it hard to see. He stepped inside and saw her Hina was lying on the floor, blood trickling from her head.

Arya rushed to her side. "Hina! Are you okay?"

She didn't respond.

Without wasting another second, Arya carefully lifted her into his arms. "Don't worry, I'll get you out of here."

The building groaned, the walls crumbling around them.

Outside, the doctor, nurse, and others waited anxiously. The building was on the verge of collapse.

Then, through the thick dust and smoke, a shadow appeared.

Arya emerged, carrying Hina in his arms.

The doctor let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God, you're safe!"

The nurse rushed to Arya's side, guiding him as he gently laid Hina down.

Arya, breathing heavily, looked at her anxiously. "She hasn't opened her eyes…"

The nurse quickly checked her pulse, then smiled reassuringly. "She's fine."

From behind, a voice cried out. "Hina!"

Her mother ran toward them, tears streaming down her face. She knelt beside her daughter. "Is she okay? Tell me she's okay!"

The nurse nodded. "She just needs rest."

Her mother sobbed. "It's my fault… I shouldn't have left her alone."

The doctor turned to Arya. "Don't ever take a risk like that again."

Arya didn't answer he was just glad Hina was safe.

Despite the chaos, despite the injuries, no one had died. They had made it out alive.
