As a native of the Inheritance world, the Pope didn't understand what these runes represented, but he could feel just how extraordinary the rune in front of him was.

Moreover, he could feel that something was awakening inside his body as if it had a will of its own.

Indeed, the next second, the Pope felt that something had awakened inside his Divine Power.

He instantly realized that this was the power he had just absorbed, the power of his previous life.

"How is this possible?", he couldn't help but exclaim.

Under his stunned eyes, a strip of black, chaotic energy emerged from his body and rushed toward the complicated rune in the distance.

Closing the prompt, she raised her head and looked at the Pope, and feeling his fluctuating aura, she chose to take advantage of his weakness.

With a thought of her mind, the rune that represented the Good and Evil Authority shook violently, before two tentacles flew out of it.

One of these tentacles was golden and surrounded by holy light, while the other one was black, and dripping with a strange gray liquid.

Regardless of their appearance though, these tentacles moved in unison and flew towards the Pope in the distance.

Their speed was actually extremely fast, and as if they had teleported, they arrived in front of him.

The Pope, who had not yet recovered from the previous backlash, saw that the two tentacles had unknowingly appeared before him and immediately reacted.

He instinctively urged his Divine Power to defend, but he was shocked to discover that he had lost control of it.

It seemed as if these two tentacles had a strange suppressive power that acted on him, making it impossible for him to use his physical strength and his Divine Power.

Even with his high realm and his experience, he was unable to break free of this power.

However, not only did Chu Wuyao not care about his predicament, but she even chose to take advantage of his situation.

With her thoughts, she controlled the tentacles to attack him.

"Swoosh!"

The moment the tentacles landed on the Pope's body, there was no resistance at all and they easily pierced through him.

Then, like hungry beasts that had smelled blood, the suction cups on the tentacles' surface shook and they started sucking everything around them.

This was not only true for material things like the Pope's blood, but also for conceptual things like his Divine Power.

The two tentacles violently squirmed inside the Pope's body, swallowing everything about him, and throughout this whole process, the Pope didn't show any signs of resistance.

Only a shocked look remained on his face, and soon, his eyes had completely lost their vitality.

In the end, only an empty shell remained where the Pope originally stood, and without the power to keep it floating, it fell to the ground.

When Chu Wuyao saw this scene, she was shocked.

Having witnessed the Pope's previous show of strength, she never expected that he would die so easily.

"Is this a Supreme-Grade Authority?", she whispered and had a hunch that with this rune, she would be able to kill even the strongest Awakening Realm cultivators.

"Crack!"

Unfortunately, just when Chu Wuyao was full of confidence and was dreaming about her bright future, the sound of cracking rang in her ears and woke her up.

When she raised her head, she saw that countless cracks had formed on the surface of the rune representing the Good and Evil Authority.

"Bang!"

The next moment, under her eyes, the rune broke into countless tiny pieces.

In its place, three familiar runes appeared, one red, one orange, and one golden and they rushed towards her, before drilling into her body.

Feeling the return of her Authorities, Chu Wuyao felt whole again, but she couldn't be happy about it.
