Chapter 162: Great Purge
Two months later.
"We can't allow that woman to act like this!"
"That's right! Who does she think she is?"
"Duke Tulip, you have to help us!"
In a well-hidden building located near the capital of the Sun Kingdom, about twenty people had gathered and were sitting around a long table.
If anyone familiar with high-level members of the Sun Kingdom were here, they would realize that these people were all famous nobles and ministers.
Among them, the one with the highest status was a middle-aged man, who had a well-trimmed beard and wore red metal armor.
There was a red tulip engraved on the left side of this armor, which was the crest of one of the most famous noble families of the Sun Kingdom, the Tulip family.
This crest betrayed this middle-aged man's identity:
Duke Tulip, a powerful Great Warrior.
When he heard the words of the nobles around him, a slight smile flashed on Duke Tulip's face, and he spoke up:
"Everyone! With all of us working together, I'm sure that we'll be able to get rid of that damn woman and regain control over our kingdom."
Saying this, Duke Tulip paused for a brief second, and he turned to look at a young man who sat on the opposite side of the table.
This young man was wearing luxurious golden clothes and had a golden crown on his head, but his temperament was very weak and he looked very frail.
"Isn't that right, 'Your Majesty'?", Duke Tulip seemed to be asking this young man, but his tone when he spoke was filled with clear disdain.
When the Sixth Prince heard his words, he immediately shook his head and waved his hands: "No, no! You're right."
His tone was very weak, which caused the disdain that the Duke Tulip felt to increase even further.
Without paying any attention to the young man anymore, Duke Tulip turned around and continued communicating with the other nobles as if he wasn't there.
Facing his contempt, the Sixth Prince remained silent, but he was secretly a little angry.
Unfortunately, he knew that he was powerless.
Subconsciously, he couldn't help but recall that day two months ago, when the Saint of the Holy Church visited the imperial palace and accused his father of conspiring with the Demon Cult to murder the First Sun King.
Then, without waiting for the Sun King to defend himself, she swung her sword and cut off his head.
As one would expect, this caused the nobles and the other members of the royal family to become furious, resulting in a fight.
But soon, this proved to be an extremely unwise decision.
The Sixth Prince could still vividly remember the scene of blood and corpses everywhere on the ground, as the people he was familiar with slowly fell to the ground, having lost their breath.
He was originally expecting that he would also die with them, but to his surprise, the Saint of the Holy Church spared his life and then helped him inherit the throne of the Sun Kingdom.
Of course, since that day, the so-called royal family no longer held any power and the Saint became the real ruler of the Sun Kingdom.
"We should get rid of that damn woman and return the power to the royal family!"
The passionate voice of Duke Tulip echoed in the Sixth Prince's ears, waking him up from his thoughts.
Listening to these words that seemed to be filled with loyalty towards him, the Sixth Prince couldn't feel any joy.
He knew very well that these nobles and ministers, including Duke Tulip, didn't really care about the royal family or him at all.
What they really cared about was that the Saint had been continuously suppressing them over the last two months and had taken away most of their power.
He, the current Sun King, was merely a pawn, an excuse for them to voice their disagreement with her.
Thinking of this, the face of the Sixth Prince, who had always been famous for his weak temperament and his cowardly character, became resolute, and his eyes flashed with fierceness.
After he took a look at all those nobles and swore to never forget their ugly faces, he took a small crystal ball out of his pocket and crashed it with his right hand.
Throughout this whole process, no one in the room paid any attention to him, so they didn't notice his little movements.
"I think that the so-called Saint of the Holy Church is the one responsible for killing the First Sun King! We should let the people of the kingdom know that she is a murderer! A traitor of the Sun Kingdom!", Duke Tulip said and he slapped the table in front of him in anger.
His words received a look of approval from the people around him, making him feel a little proud.
Duke Tulip could already imagine himself killing the Saint, gaining power, and eventually sitting on the throne of the Sun Kingdom.
No! By that time, it will have been renamed the Tulip Kingdom!
"Bang!"
Just when Duke Tulip was daydreaming about his bright future, the door of the room suddenly swung open, interrupting him.
When he turned his head to look who it was, he found that it was a woman in her early twenties, who had long blue hair and a pair of crystal-blue eyes.
"Presumptuous! Who let you in?!", he couldn't help but shout in anger when he discovered that he couldn't recognize her.
Contrary to his expectation, however, this woman didn't respond but took a few steps forward.
Then, her figure disappeared.
Before most in the room could react, she had appeared in front of Duke Tulip, while her body began changing.
Each strand of her long blue hair turned into a twisted black tentacle, while her nails became longer and sharper, and attacked Duke Tulip.
"Careful!", another well-known Warrior jumped up from his chair and shouted, while he unsheathed the sword that hung on his waist.
However, just then, a small black creature jumped out of the surrounding darkness and pounced on him.
"Swoosh!"
Its claws glowed with a sharp light and landed on his neck, cutting it open and causing blood to flow out.
The small creature's appearance shocked the surrounding nobles, who also took out their weapons and instinctively attacked it.
On the other hand, Duke Tulip, who was attacked by the terrifying monster, reacted instantly.
Facing the sharp nails and strange tentacles that were swinging towards him, he urged the Fighting Spirit inside his body, ready to defend.
Unfortunately, something unexpected happened. Find adventures on My Virtual Library Empire
When he tried to control his Fighting Spirit, Duke Tulip felt a strange sense of discomfort, and pain assaulted every inch of his body.
Shocked, he looked inside his body to see what was going on, only to discover that there was an unknown green substance that flowed inside him and was affecting his Fighting Spirit and body.
Seeing this, he understood something: he had been poisoned!
Turning his head, Duke Tulip looked at everyone in the room, searching for the culprit.
Only when his eyes landed on the only person who had not reacted and was still sitting calmly did he stop.
Surprisingly, that person was the person he least expected, the cowardly Sixth Prince.
"You dare to betray us?", Duke Tulip gritted his teeth in anger and yelled.
How was it possible?
How could he be willing to assist the woman who killed his own family and made him a puppet King?
"Bang!"
However, before he could receive an answer to all these questions, Yue Zhilan's attack landed on his head and pierced right through it.
When the other nobles and ministers saw the Duke's death and noticed the poison inside their bodies, they were terrified and they instantly decided to escape.
Unfortunately, before they could do so, a sea of blood appeared in front that blocked their way.
Before long, the sound of screaming spread throughout the building, followed by the sound of people falling to the ground.

A few minutes later, the Sixth Prince, Yue Zhilan, Cthulhu, and Li Ruoshi were the only people still alive in the whole building.
Glancing at the pale face of the Sixth Prince, Yue Zhilan stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry. My Lord has already promised that as long as you're willing to work for her wholeheartedly, she will help you improve your strength."
When the Sixth Prince heard this, he raised his head and his eyes flashed with a hint of hope.
"Really?", he couldn't help but ask.
"Hmph! Do you think that my Master is a liar?", the Sixth Prince heard the small cat retort, making him frightened.
Although this cat looked cute right now, he had previously seen it harvest the lives of many people.
He didn't want to suffer a fate similar to those people!
"No, no, sir Cat. It's my fault for doubting-", the Sixth Prince wanted to speak, but his words were rudely interrupted.
"Okay, now that we're done dealing with all those idiots, we should return to Master.", Li Ruoshi, who had been silent all this time suddenly spoke, and before anyone could answer, she had already moved.
With a move of her mind, her transparent figure merged into the Blood Flag, and then, the Blood Flag took off, rushing towards the direction of the capital.
"No! She's trying to gain Master's favor!", Cthulhu yelled in shock, and filled with murderous intent, it followed right behind her.
Seeing this strange scene, the Sixth Prince was filled with doubts and turned his head, wanting to ask Yue Zhilan what was going on.
Unfortunately, he discovered that she had unknowingly disappeared.
In a split second, everyone around him was gone, and he was the only person left on the side.
Looking at the familiar bloody scene around him, the Sixth Prince's face became even paler and he had to hold himself back from fainting.
