NOVEL ONLINE FREE Chapter 46: No, but this is :)
You know, when I started this fanfiction, I didn't expect to do much with it—maybe 2-3 chapters in total. Boy, was I wrong!
Now I'm sitting here ending it with over 200,000 words and 30 chapters in total.
(The amount of words and Chapters has changed significantly. Ai really did a great job at adapting it. I'm sitting on 166'000 words and 46 chapters now.)
No one I know would have thought that I would one day write something in English as a hobby. But do you guys know who would be the most surprised? My English teacher in elementary school, Miss Halle. Back then, I had the worst grades in English, failing from class 3 to 6 because I couldn't get the hang of it and was too lazy to learn even the simplest of words.
Only when I started watching Let's Plays from German YouTube content creators did my English improve because the games they were playing were all in English, so I subconsciously learned the vocabulary as I listened to countless hours of Minecraft Let's Plays and some other games, of course. From this point on, my grades improved, and I got straight A's. English is rather simple, as it turns out—much simpler than my mother language, German, which I'm grateful for since I never had to learn it formally, having grown up with it.
Half a year ago, I didn't even think of reading something, but when I woke up one day expecting to invest my free time in gaming once more, I wasn't excited at all. On the contrary, I felt empty. So, after finishing "The Beginning After The End" webcomic, I was hungry for more, and I finally decided to give myself a push and start reading a real book. I finished books 6-11 in mere weeks and felt like a change of hobby would be a good idea.
After that, I spoke with a friend of mine, a now hairless bastard who has only one testicle left after an accident. I call him [Ein Eiiger Pirat]. Sorry, but the joke only works in German. It basically means a pirate with one egg (like pirates sometimes have only one eye left or at least wear an eye patch, making it look like they only have one).
Anyways, that friend was the one who recommended "Shadow Slave" to me—a life-changing moment, as it has turned out.
After starting to read, I couldn't stop and finished the then 1623 chapters in about a month, leaving me empty again. I decided to dive into the world of fanfiction and give it a try. After reading most of the sadly very few "Shadow Slave" fanfics, I decided to write something of my own, and one specific moment was the spark that ignited the fire of passion in my mind.
Maybe some of you can remember it—at least the ones who were active readers at the time.
Chapter 1814 (Confession) came out and was an unbearable cliffhanger, followed by many chapters of Rain's POV, which, to be honest, I didn't really enjoy at the time.
So while the chapters of Rain forging her soul core and fleeing from the Awakened Terror while dragging Tamar through the mud piled up, the pressure in my head rose, and I couldn't wait any longer. I decided to write my own version of how it would continue after Sunny told Nephis that he's the Lord of Shadows.
So before Chapter 1833 (Honesty is the Best Policy) came out, I released it, and to my surprise, people enjoyed it.
Chabri2000 was the first person to ever comment, and it kept me writing, so at this point, I would like to say 'thank you'—not just to him, but to everyone else, of course, who did so too. Sunlesseclipse2 is one of the very few who bother to comment on nearly every chapter I release on Wattpad. You too motivated me, so special thanks to you as well.
So after my first chapter was out and people seemed to enjoy it, I continued. Now, 29 chapters later, I'm happy to end [Peaceful Dreams…well…kinda], at least for now. Maybe one day I will pick it back up, but who knows?
This is not the end of me writing fanfiction, though. Instead, I have many more ideas for other fanfics, and I'm really excited to bring them over to Webnovel, AO3 and Wattpad.
In the end, I would appreciate it if whoever feels like doing so could give me a final comment for this fanfic—an evaluation of sorts.
How did I do as a German who fell in love with "Shadow Slave" and decided to write all of this in English so the majority of the community would have something to read while waiting for the true master G3 himself to deliver new peak fiction every day?
(No really well as it turns out. My English in the original wasn't terrible, but Grammer and wording was off at some points. Not only that but the amount of how many times I used the phrase "and he said" made me cringe after reading it months later. Sorry about that but that's why I decided to update it all with Ai)
