Shadow Slave: is this love?

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Rain or Roan? (1)

Up above in the boundless skies, near the border. The screen, the all knowing, all watching, all changing author sat. He glanced upon the feeble souls of the weak. The mortals. The Awakened. Even the saints! He decided to do an experiment, what if he decided to troll Sunny a bit?

He googled Saint Roan's age and instead found the Google AI answering with...

"In Shadow Slave, Roan is Sunny's younger sister. While Sunny is 26 in the current timeline, Rain is 22, making her 4 years younger. This age difference is maintained despite Sunny's experience in the Third Nightmare, where time flows differently. Rain was adopted by Sunny's family when she was around three years old."

He used his giant hands, pulled the piece for Saint Roan, and shoved him into the River of Time. The place did some funny shenanigans and now... Their positions swapped.

Rain was not Rain. She was Roan.

Roan wasn't Roan. He was Rain.

Sunny watched as the customers enter, one after one, he made countless waffles and countless pancakes.

Most were here for one thing: Cassie being there.

Her beauty knew no bounds, according to general public.

Sunny sighed, and watched Beth enter.

"The usual?" He asked, frying something in a pan.

"So... Somehow I forgot you were the Devil of Antarctica, huh? What miracle did you pull this time?"

"Oh you know... The usual, I ran into a bird. A very vile bird, and it just stole my fate."

No but did the author's auto correct, correct fate to date?

"You know... If you don't want to tell me, don't." She laughed, as they reminisced some small moments back in Antarctica...

Suddenly, he flinched, and dropped the pan. Back in a forest something weird seemed to have happened...

Rain couldn't go back to Ravenheart, not without alerting the Sovereign there.

Her domain would alert her of his presence, and so she started to learn how to be an Awakened naturally...

Well, now she Awakened suddenly.

"Congratulations, You've now Awakened. How does it feel to be the first Natural Awakened, Rain?" He asked.

"Huh?" Rain spoke, "Sunny? What're you doing here?"

What?

Was this another one of her games?

Something felt off...

"I was here for a while, with you." His flaw forced him to answer.

"No you weren't, I was somewhere strange with seven suns and an endless river."

What?

How could it be?

Tomb of Ariel.

"What happened to my body?" Roan screamed, flinching as he realised he wasn't used to this. "And I'm not Rain, I'm Saint Roan!"

What? What the fuck did the author do?

'Hey! Don't look at me!' the author proclaimed innocently, well in his mind so that was the wrong word.

Rain suddenly woke up, the bedsheet coming off as she did so. This wasn't the body she was used to, the giveaway was that she could actually sense essence, and a core!

Lying besides her, on the bed, was Saint Tyris!

Saint Sky Tide herself!

That... That was something she didn't see coming. She did have a Sovereign and a few of the biggest Saints as her friends but that was because they were related to her brother, Sky Tide wasn't!

Well... Maybe she was, but that didn't explain her sleeping besides her! In a man's body no less.

Sky Tide stirred in her sleep, and slowly opened her eyes. She looked ethereal. Rain noticed something, the Saint was wearing casual clothings: A pajama and a T-Shirt.

"Roan?"

'Ah so that's the body I'm possesing.'

"Lady Sky Tide, I am sorry but I'm not Saint Roan." She hurriedly said the words as she noticed the Saint reaching towards her for a hug.

Rain blushed, realising she made the moment that would have been tender awkward and might have stolen Roan's chance for this.

It was sort of her fault that they were like this, after whatever the hell happened in the Tomb of Ariel.

That was what his brother called the place when he described it... It was weird to actually be there.

Saint Tyris positioned her head slightly above Rain's level and looked at Rain, her hair reaching her shoulders.

It was... Beautiful.

"I am not Saint Roan, Lady Tyris. I'm Rain, I don't know how but I suddenly found myself in this body."

Sky Tide blushed, "You don't have to lie, you know?" And pouted.

Pouted!

She never saw a Saint pout before, well other than Cassie when Sunny commented on something atleast.

She didn't expect the Saints to be so... So human.

"What are you thinking about?" Sky Tide asked her.

"Just that... You Saints all seem so human..." She replied, suddenly flinching.

How was she supposed to explain it to the Saint that she wasn't Rain?

The author seemed to understand her plea...
