Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Rain
A/n: yes yes timeline change ik, this moment just makes it funnier
"That's great. Speaking of great, since it's teacher, there has to be a Supreme in our clan, no doubt. Should I consider myself royalty? Might as well, right?"
Her teacher coughed in embarrassment.
"Ah… well… technically, our clan doesn't have a Sove-"
Suddenly her teacher, Shadow, paused. It felt as if he—he died! That caused her heart to ache, she trembled, she didn't know why. Suddenly her teacher continued:
"Nevermind it does now! Oh and we have a supreme devil too! I used to bully the little bastard a lot in the past, but now that he's all grown-up, it's not very fun."
She took a deep breath, turned away, and stared at the sky.
"You know, I was worried for a second that you died but" she groaned in frustration, "it seems you love to scare me."
'Did that bastard's presence just change? Sure not... Right?'
'I mean.... He can't be petty enough to become a Supreme because of a quarrel!'
"Oh? My student was worried about me?" Her teacher grinned, it started from one side of his cheek to another. He looked smug.
"Oh, and yes, you can consider yourself royalty."
With that she went to sleep, lest she got infected by his lies, only to wake up soon after...
"Sunny-" she woke up with a gasp, and looked at her teacher. Really looked at him.
He looked taken back.
'What?' Sunny thought, 'How?'
"Did you dream about someone called Sunny?"
Rain... She looked at him, tears walled up inside her eyes.
She remembered...
Remembered everything...
The moment her dad died...
The moment her mom died...
The time spent in orphanage...
Everything after that too, even her becoming his student.
"Brother?"
Sunny looked at the confusion in Rain's eyes, which turned to a frown... which felt weird seeing the tears walking up.
Suddenly:
"Brother" she spoke, causing his whole world to crash down, his mask disappearing into a smile as he realised what happened. A smile crept up on his face.
She remembered him! That explained why he taught her how to awaken naturally.
He-he wanted to hear her call him "Brother" for... For the last 17 years, but hearing her call him that felt werid now.
"Never call me that!" Sunny turned away, and blushed in emberssment.
"Big. Brother." Rain teased, with a grin and a smug satisfaction printed on her face. She was satisfied after all the torment he put her through!
If he was her brother, then why didn't he just shower her with soul shards!
Well... She knew the answer but that wasn't the point!
It was now that she realised.
'Was this how I met the big shot Saints? Even Nephis!'
"Did you ask Cassie out yet? Or did you make the world forget you because she rejected you."
...
That was too far.
"Oh... You know, she's tied up in my cafe right now! As for asking her out... Just wait till tomorrow or something!" Sunny had a venomous tone, she crossed the line there!
She looked at the baffled Rain, and decided to clarify her doubts.
"Technically it isn't her right now... But you know! Not the point."
Suddenly he gasped, air blowed our of lungs as pain erupted in his chest.
What the hell was his main incarnation doing?
Or well... Technically not main anymore.
"Brother, what is happening?" Rain looked worried, her voice shook and her eyes widened.
"Oh, nothing much I am just fighting Anvil." He replied cheerfully, only thing giving the mask out was a pained grimace. "Go rest for now."
She did rest, she rested knowing her brother could pull it off... Especially since he was in Changing Star's cohort!
She woke up to the sound of Sunny humming, he seemed to be happy.
"Shut up." She spoke, half sleepy as her eyes were narrowed and dark bags surrounded them.
"Whats going on?" She asked, feeling tired and drained.
"Oh- nothing much, I just kissed Lady Song of The Fallen, we are probably going out in a beach date soon, and my beautiful cafe is getting the whole cohort!"
...
'He does know that I remember right?'
Maybe she could tease him back until he remembers!
Well, before she could say anything, Sunny's words changed everything.
"Oh, Changing Star, my sister, you know her? She's a Supreme now."
