Shadow Slave: Reaction

Chapter 11: 11 : Another one

Author's note : Sup I'm back. Read the thing I've put at the end of this chapter. I'll cram this shit because the actual reactions are still on plan for tommorow. The message in the last part is just a rant probably about what happened while I'm on a break so goodluck.

(This is just a warmup chapter) don't mind the typos

The theater was rather lively even after the surges of emotions coming from those who have experienced Antarctica.

"He really did it! "

"I- I don't even think that's humanely possible... "

"What do you mean? He's a Saint, he surely isn't that human anymore."

People were talking about Sunny's feats here and there, while the man in the center of the talks would've probably wanted to die if he was here due to all of the attention tied on his name.

Suddenly, the screen turned white. It was so bright that everyone in the theater, including even Cassie who was blind was blinded by the sudden light.

And then, something happened.

*****

"Where are we... princess? "

Effie said looking at Nephis.

Nephis on the other hand shook her head.

"I don't know, Effie... "

Nephis was as clueless as Effie at the moment. She was just beside the sleeping Sunny playing with her newly obtained memory... well, attribute now, and then suddenly just here in this... theater.

Suddenly, she felt a light tap on her right shoulder. Eventually turning around, Nephis saw Cassie who looked... not too well. It seems the constant orders from the King especially in the middle of the war was taking a huge toll on her being.

"Cas... do you...?"

Nephis' calm question was replied to by a shake of a head. It seems that even Cassie who knows a lot, maybe even too much is unaware of the situation.

And so, Nephis did the most efficient and effective way to know what is happening if you are unaware of the situation.

To observe.

Her eyes scanned the theater which is your typical theater out there, it is not as grand and big compared to the ones she had been before. The theater have the normal elevated style rows of seat where the first row is lower than the rest for better viewing. The room is divided into two groups of seat that is parted by the path in the middle, leading to an elevated room at the top.

Nephis and the rest of the cohort was at the very first row at the bottom right. While across them on the left...

"It's been quite a while isn't it? Lady Athena."

"I'll break your face like a mirror if I can."

Effie smiled at Mordret who was at the edge of the bottom left row, just a pathway apart from Effie who is at the edge albeit the opposite side.

Although full of threats, no one made a move. It seems that the Saints was faster than anyone to notice that they cannot use any of their aspects.

Of course that wouldn't stop their verbal battle against each other.

"Did you perhaps brought me here Lady Athena?"

"Ha!? Why'd you think so? "

Mordret smiled. A very genuinely fake one.

"You have that weird memory after all. "

Effie simply rolled her eyes.

"That's for reversing time dumbass."

Effie looked at him with a grin.

"And besides with how annoying you are, even in my road to hell, I'll be sure not to drag you there."

Mordret laughed at her comment.

"Quite an unexpected poetic side of you have shown."

*****

Death singer looked at the two bantering Saints as curiosity lit up in her, but before she could even speak, a hand grabbed her arm.

"No can do. "

Death singer blinked.

"Eunbin... "

The Beastmaster smiled at her sister.

"Don't get involved with them okay? "

She said as she shook her head, and in the last part even added a gesture, spinning her index finger beside her ear. A gesture to say that the two is not very okay in the mind.

Death singer let out a giggle and simply nodded as her attention went to observe the whole theater.

Rain wasn't too sure if she's dreaming or not.

In her left was someone she's very familiar with, Nightingale of Changing Star's cohort, not only as she is a big fan of him but also talked to him a few times before. Unfortunately, no one would believe her whenever she spoke about it.

Past him was also the rest of the member of the cohort. While in her right was... kind of unsettling. A man with a look comparable to even Saint Kai! He have a long lustrous black hair that reminded her of her recently found brother — which was always been found... it's just that... uhh... she didn't believe? So recently believed brother? Even Rain don't know.

The man is stylish to be described. His long black hair tied in a pony tail and the bangs that subtlety covers his forehead opens up for the crescent moon mark located at the center of his forehead to be seen.

The man wore a simple red robe and held his chin high, as if telling the world that he's more beautiful than anyone else. Adding the fact that he carries an aura of pride and arrogance in his movements, it isn't very hard to imagine him saying those types of words.

Fortunately for Rain, it seems that the man did not mind her at all, or rather he ignored her like a rock on the middle of a road.

Rain sighed as he looked around for her brother.

'With all these big shots here, just don't come out of nowhere big brother... you'll surely get caught. '

Even though that thought ran through her mind, Rain was sure that her brother will find a way to reason about it.

After all, he is a treacherous one.

Nephis sighed... This thing just doesn't make sense at all — not that everything make sense after all of the things she went through but this is different.

The two sides of war just beside one another, the spell not working, essence not functioning. Everything doesn't make any sense.

Trying to make sense of the very event that doesn't make sense, Neph observed again. She looked at the things she have already looked at before hoping that she would get answers.

A dignified looking man that Nephis doesn't recognize at all. Yet the crown on his head she recognizes. It is the one she wears after all...

'The first lord?'

Then a skeleton on the very last row of the Valor side of seats.

'Eurys'

A man carrying some kind of energy around his vicinity. A Sovereign... wearing a familiar crown that Nephis is torned if she have ever saw it before.

A man...? cloaked in dark rugged clothing covering every parts of the body, not even an inch of skin can be seen. But somehow... he reminded her of Sunny for some reasons.

Beside him was a young woman not older than Nephis. She have the face of a Saint and a confused gaze wandering in the crowd, while her trembling body was covered by a black mantle.

'Ananke...'

Although Nephis wanted to say her gratitude to her, she also considered the fact that she have probably not remember or to be exact, she is not the Ananke Nephis know.

And much more importantly... she cannot show any signs if weaknesses.

'They are also here.'

Gazing up the dark stairs, Nephis figures in the room at the top of the theater. Because of the dim nature of the room, any ordinary human would probably not even notice the room above, and yet Nephis saw the three figure sitting on top, looking down at everything on the theater.

The three ghouls are here.

'Aster, Vale, Song.'

I'm back. Sadly this January didn't go as planned? I planned to rest a lot but it seems that the school is thinking the opposite. Not only did I got fucked by practice because I joined a journalism contest(kinda forced, won 1st place btw) but I also lead a dance(we're the last place), doing a research, about to make a play etc. Although I actually rested watching some romcom anime and stacking some SS chapters. I'll read them tomorrow and hopefully write one chap too. I'll finish it tomorrow because we've got big exams this Friday and Monday.
