She died mid-sentence while telling me I was just a friend

Chapter 5: Arc 1,Chapter 5-Soulprints and Sparks

It had been exactly one week since Misho revealed the truth about the Evil Being.

The world wasn't a stage for fantasy anymore. It was real. Dangerous. Fragile. Their group of close-knit friends had always laughed too loud, stayed up too late, joked too freely. But now? Every laugh carried a quiet undertone. Every silence felt a bit heavier.

There was work to do. And everyone knew it.

Everyone decided to go train somewhere where they can improve themselves.

Near the windswept hills of Debelets, Plamen stood with his fists clenched, staring down a boulder thick as a car.

Momentum Ignition—it sounded badass. And it was. His limbs could ignite with raw energy, letting him dash and strike with explosive force. But it only worked when he committed fully. One moment of fear, hesitation, or second-guessing—and it backfired.

"Don't think," Misho called from behind. "Just do. Either punch the rock or let it punch you."

Plamen exhaled. The cold air turned to fog on his lips.

He sprinted. Sparks flashed around his calves. His knuckles glowed. BOOM.

His fist collided with the stone and split it in half, echoing like thunder across the hills.

He stumbled back, grinning. "That was sick."

Misho shook his head. "That was basic. Stop celebrating average."

Plamen smirked. "One step at a time, drill sergeant."

The next they Misho trained with Simeon who braced to see his ability at its full potential.

The Golden Ratio. One perfect cut—beautiful and deadly. But after that? Every slash lost harmony.

"Still obsessed with perfection?" Misho asked, stepping into the clearing.

Simeon didn't even glance at him. "It's not obsession. It's math."

Misho hurled a stone. Simeon sliced it mid-air—clean, elegant, effortless.

Then came another. Then a third. Then five.

Simeon's rhythm began to falter, his breathing quickening.

"You think beauty wins wars?" Misho said. "Your first cut's gold. But the fight doesn't stop after one."

Simeon lowered his blade. "Then I'll learn to make every strike gold."

Now was Kalin's turn-the also called the special ability user…

Shirtless in the snow, Kalin looked like a madman. His veins glowed faintly red, Reflective Core active beneath his skin.

Misho launched a burst of flame. Kalin absorbed it with an open palm, heat flowing into his chest like liquid fire.

Then he fired it back.

The snow sizzled, trees lit up, and a pine was reduced to ash.

Kalin dropped to one knee, gasping.

"You mixed in your own energy," Misho warned. "That's suicide. Reflect, don't enhance."

Kalin gritted his teeth. "Got it. Again."

Misho smiled. "You're learning faster than you think."

Now was time for Misho's self training. He had a power too-not a physical, but a mental one.His ability is called Soulprint-the ability of seeing into someone's soul meaning:

Emotion Perception: Instantly feel what someone is going through emotionally.

Intention Reading: He knows if someone is lying, hiding something, or planning betrayal.

Power Awareness: He sees the full extent of a person's spiritual potential — including powers they haven't awakened yet.

Ability Boost (advanced use): He can awaken or enhance someone else's power by "unlocking" their soul's potential (though it takes a toll).

Soulmap Memory: He can store a few souls in memory and analyze them later like blueprints.

He was the mind of the group. The leader.

His training looked simple-look into 5 different souls with tragic backgrounds, but this training was far worse-Misho was mentally weak. His mind couldn't withstand looking in broken souls. He couldn't look into more than 2 souls in a day.

His training was supposed to help him look into more souls a day and also-make him mentally stable.

The training started-the first one:

A woman weeping over her child's grave. The coldness of winter, the emptiness of years lost. It wasn't just a memory — it was real. The tears. The shaking. Misho's knees buckled, heart hammering as the emotions flooded into him.

The second one-A man.Soldier.Just came back from war happy to see his family.Just when he was about to enter,he heard a gunshot. He entered. His wife, dead on the floor.Blood was everywhere, the floor was red.

Misho broke up in tears. He couldnt do anything. He was broken inside. But this was his training. He had to bear the pain and conquer it to become more powerful.

Then,the third soul-

A scream. A woman losing her child in a war-torn village.

He couldn't take it anymore.Misho ended the training. He couldn't realise it now,but those events made him stronger. It made him have the will to save his friends and defeat the Evil Being.

7 days after intense training,Plamen decided to hang out with Ivet. But he also wanted her to take Gergana,so he can take Misho.

They met at Kartala, but Plamen had brought Misho,Kalin and Simeon with them.

Ivet also brought Gergana, but there was another two girls with her-Emily and Victoria.

Two good friends of Ivet.who lived in Kartala for their whole lives. They were reincarnated too,so they didn't know about the Four Children of The Borderline or Evil Being.

"Heyy long time no see!"said Plamen.

"Yeah what's up with yall, you guys look so tired!"said Ivet.

"Yeah we were playing a football match this morning,so we are all tired"added Kalin.

While all were talking,Misho couldn't stop thinking about his training and the things he saw.Not until Gergana came up to him and said:

"Hey Misho how are you?"

Misho's eye's glanced. He saw the girl he loved right in front of him.

"Um I'm good thanks. How are you?"

"I was sad,but you are here now,so I'm happy!"

Misho couldn't say a word.He thought that its all a dream.A dream he wished for.

Time passed by,the group were all chatting and Emily and Victoria looked really happy with the boys.

Plamen talked with Ivet openly, but Simeon wasn't saying much.He looked at Victoria. He couldn't look away.He was stuck on her face. She looked at him and smiled. He looked all red.He played it cool and started talking about how he scored 2 goals in his last match. They all had a good laugh.

But then,Gergana pulled Misho away.

Misho confused asked:

"What happened? Is there something you wanna talk about?"

"Actually there is.Something I wanted to tell you long ago."

Gergana grabbed her leg and said:

"I love you."

He blinked.Time froze.

"Did she really said that?"

He tried to speak, but words got lost somewhere between disbelief and joy.
