Chapter 1298: Fairy Tear (1)
Chapter 1298: Fairy Tear (1)
Almost as if there was something that was formally accepted when I gave this name, the throne of vines suddenly started glowing.
Even the fairies looked like they were surprised by the reaction from the throne of vines.
They all seemed like they had never seen this kind of reaction from the throne of vines before, even though it was the relic of the fairy race.
Titania seemed like she was in a daze when she heard this, but that was because the light that came from the throne of vines was actually creeping into her body as well. It didn't seem like it was hurting her, it seemed like it was empowering her in a strange way.
When it was over, Titania suddenly snapped back to attention and said, "Fairies, this will be our holy land from now on. Our fate will be tied with the Kite Kingdom and the king of the Kite Kingdom until the end of time."
Even I was surprised by this declaration that she made.
After all, this was the first time that one of the other races declared something like this.
While it wasn't a declaration of life and death with the human race, it was still close enough since they were declaring that they would live and die with one of the kingdoms of the human
race.
Even in the game, there wasn't an event like this.
Perhaps it might have existed in the further updates involving the fairies, but I had never encountered it before in all my time playing the game...
The world really was changing beyond my comprehension.
The other reason I was surprised was that Titania looked completely different from when I first met her.
The way that she was currently acting was the complete opposite of the way that she had acted when we first met. For every part of the unseriousness that she had, she now had the same part of seriousness.
It was as if she really had taken the form of the Fairy Queen.
Only that didn't last long...
Once she made this declaration and the fairies all seemed to bow to accept this order, the light from the throne of vines slowly started to fade. After the light from the throne of vines started to fade, I noticed that there was a change that came from Titania.
She was actually getting smaller.
I hadn't actually noticed it since I was focused on the other things that happened, but after she had been infused with the light from the throne of vines, she had actually changed appearances.
Titania had gotten bigger and she looked even more like a mature beauty than she did before this.
Even though she was already turning back, it wasn't hard to see the shadow of the mature beauty that she had when she was in her perfected form.
It seemed that this was the true power of the Fairy Queen that she was drawing from the throne of vines. It seemed that the power of the fairy race really wasn't something that could be looked down on.
When the light from the throne vine completely disappeared, Titania suddenly floated up and came off the throne. She floated over to where I was and said, "Do you still have any sweets? I'm hungry."
I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile.
She was acting the same way that she had when I first met her.
"Come with me to the castle then, I'll have the royal chefs prepare something for you."
Titania gave a simple nod and started following me as if she had no wariness towards me at
all.
At the same time, it seemed like the other fairies wanted to come as well. Their eyes had lit up as soon as they heard that I was going to give sweets to Titania.
Only...there were just too many of them to come to the castle with us.
The royal chefs would never be able to make enough sweets to satisfy all of these fairies.
The prime minister could also see this, so he arranged for some chefs from the capital to bring sweets to this Fairy Park for the fairies. All of this would be paid from the royal treasury, so it was all coming out of my pockets.
But I was the one that brought these fairies in the first place, so it was only natural that I would pay for them for now. At least until we figured out jobs for the fairies or some form of trade that would allow them to trade for goods with us.
Until then, my pockets would have to bear the brunt of this.
I just hoped they wouldn't eat me out of house and home.
The prime minister and chancellor didn't follow me back to the castle since they were going to stay here and figure out what to do with the fairies.
I didn't mind that since I wouldn't be able to do anything in the first place. It would be all up to them to settle the fairies in our kingdom.
It wasn't just that I was running away from hard work.
But rather, there was something else that I wanted to do.
There was something that I wanted to talk about with the Fairy Queen.
During the meeting with the Great Fairy, she had left something for me and I needed the Fairy Queen's help to use that special something.
So when we were back in the castle and the Fairy Queen was eating her sweets, I took out that special something.
When I did, it pulled Titania's attention from her sweets to the thing that I was holding.
This was the drop of dew that the Great Fairy had condensed for me, but there was another
name for this drop of dew.
It was known as the Fairy Tear.
It was a special liquid that condensed mana, so anyone that absorbed it would experience a
large increase in their mana pool.
But it wasn't something that could be used that easily.
Which was why I needed Titania's help.
