Chapter 1614: Another wedding (11)
After the wedding, there was another large banquet that was held.
However, this one had a completely different tone from the previous banquet.
The last one was to welcome the different representatives from the different countries to the Kite Kingdom. So in a sense, that was a political banquet where people were free to talk business however they wanted.
There were many different countries that had taken the chance to create deals with each other and larger countries at that banquet.
This banquet was different because this was one of celebration rather than politics.
Even if they wanted to discuss politics, it wasn't as if there was anyone that would have been in the mood to discuss it with them.
The mermaids, the giants, and the elves were in full celebration mode.
If anyone were to try and discuss business with them, there was no doubt that they would have gotten the opposite effect. All that would have happened is that they would have pissed off these three races that they wanted to work with.
Since that was the case, there was no one that tried to talk business in this place.
Everyone that was at this banquet focused on celebrating the ones that had gotten married.
Though there were still a few people that were thinking about how to deal with the king that had left early.
Now that Aisha, the one that had caused that incident had gotten married to Zwein, the king of the Kite Kingdom, that incident had a completely different meaning. At that point, it could even be considered an international incident. The reference version of this chapter is on M*V*LEMPYR.
So if they were to take care of that king for the Kite Kingdom and the Elven Kingdom…
While on the surface, everyone seemed happy about the wedding, there was something that I had to take care of.
When the wedding was over, I dragged the prime minister and a few of my wives away.
There were staff that took care of the banquet and made sure that everyone was happy. At the same time, Ariel, Isra, and Aisha were there as the new brides to keep everyone entertained.
But behind the scenes of this banquet, in a small room…
"What do you all have to say for yourselves?"
This was completely different from how it usually was where I would be the one on the receiving side. This time, I didn't take anything from anyone as I stood there with a stern look on my face and my arms crossed while looking at them.
And this time, they couldn't actually look straight at me.
Normally they would still look at me even if they had done something wrong, but they couldn't do it this time.
After all, they knew that they had crossed the line.
Though they were silent, I didn't say anything either as I waited for their response.
It had become a staring contest to a certain extent.
"I know that we crossed a line, but I felt that it was the right thing to do." Rose suddenly said to break the silence.
When she spoke, the others all looked at her with different expressions. However, most of them seemed like they wanted to take the blame for her as well.
The one that looked like this the most was Moon.
It was natural that Moon would be like this since she was the one that was the most affected by this as it was her mother that was involved in the plan.
I looked at Rose before saying, "Why not just be honest about this? Do you really think that I'm that hard to talk to?"
Rose shook her head with a faint smile before saying, "It's not that you're hard to talk to, it's just that…it seemed very unlikely that you would have accepted this unless we did something drastic. You should already know what kind of feeling you gave off before, so it isn't as if you can't understand where we're coming from."
Though she said this, it wasn't as if she was actually blaming me.
However, there was something that I had to say to this.
"If you had been honest about this, it wasn't as if I wouldn't have listened. Instead of going behind my back like this, I would have preferred that you be honest." I said with a sigh.
Rose and the others all looked at me with a surprised look.
I could guess what they were thinking, so I said, "It wasn't as if I didn't think about it and it was hard for me, I have to admit that. It's just that I'm not as stubborn as you think and I prefer if we had all been honest with each other."
"Oh." They said in a dazed voice when they heard this.
I didn't bother saying anything else as I simply waited to see what else they would have to say.
Though I felt that I would be waiting for a while with the way that they looked at me with those strange looks.
In the end, there was one simple thing that was said.
"I'm sorry."
I had to admit that I was a bit caught off guard by this since I didn't expect Rose to make this kind of simple apology.
But in the end, it seemed that this was an apology that came from the bottom of her heart.
At the same time, the others soon followed her lead and said the same thing.
When they were acting like this, it really was hard for me to remain angry…
"Alright, forget about it. I understand why you did it." I said with a sigh.
But then I suddenly added in a stern voice, "But I hope that you will trust me more in the future and won't go behind my back like this again."
Though they nodded in agreement, there was a part of me that wondered how trustworthy this actually was.
After all, they had done this kind of thing to me in the past…
