Chapter 1740: A different morning for the Red Devil Mansion
"Hah~"
Remilia yawned before grumbling out loud.
"I am a vampire, why do I have to get up and eat?"
Sakuya silently placed her meal down without paying heed to her complaints.
Remilia probably complained so many times that Sakuya stopped trying to persuade her nicely. She just followed her routine to wake her up for meals.
Her loyalty isn't blind. She would do something for Remilia if it is in her own good, like making sure Remilia stays healthy and safe.
Plus, she knows Remilia is just fussy about being awakened from her slumber.
Remilia is a good kid.
Flan rubbed her eyes while seated next to Remilia. She looked around.
She zoomed in on Wu Yan who was holding a cup of tea. She was a bit surprised to since Wu Yan looked like he was a bit troubled.Flan asked Wu Yan.
"Onii-chan, what's the matter?"
Remilia and Sakuya looked at him too.
"Shiro-sama, what's wrong?"
Sakuya asked.
"Is the tea bad?"
"Nope."
Wu Yan answered immediately.
"Buster, Sakuya brews the best tea I have ever tasted, even if you're the butler, don't plan on making things difficult for Sakuya or I will..."
"I am not like that."
Wu Yan looked away from the teapot and cups of tea.
"The contents of the tea, it is a bit shocking to me."
"Shocking?"
Remilia, Flan, and Sakuya tilted their heads at the same time.
"I think I smell blood in this tea."
"Ah..."
Sakuya bowed again.
"My apologies, Remilia likes type B blood in her tea. I neglected to tell you that."
"That's not the point."
Wu Yan waved his hand.
"I have never seen anyone putting blood in tea. A little culture shock that's all."
"You've never?"
Remilia was puzzled.
"But, consuming blood is normal for vampires though, it didn't matter if the blood is in food or drink."
Vampire nobles drank good liquor tinged with blood.
However, Remilia prefers tea so there is blood in her tea.
They assumed Wu Yan had blood consumption in his habits too.
Remilia forgot one thing.
"Unlike vampires, True Ancestors don't need to consume blood to live."
Wu Yan reminded her.
"And, I also don't suck blood. I have never done so since there wasn't a need."
"You've never fed on blood before?"
Sakuya and Remilia's ears perked up.
"Are you even a vampire?"
Remilia smirked.
"Do you know what those who haven't tasted blood are in the world of vampires?"
It is as if a human baby never fed on milk. A true wimp in the eyes of bloodsuckers.
Remilia had multiple teasing lines ready.
However, she won't get to use those lines to mock Wu Yan.
"Oh, I still eat food like humans, since I don't have bloodlust or need to feed on blood, I figured that's just fine too."
Wu Yan grinned.
"Also, missy, I am not even 30, a true baby in the vampire's world."
"H-Huh?!"
Remilia gasped.
"You're not even 30?"
"Probably between 28 at most."
Wu Yan waved his hands.
"Anyway, is it that big a deal?"
"It's a big deal."
"How was I clapped by someone a few centuries younger than me? You totally destroyed me when we dueled last time though?!"
True Ancestors had disappeared for at least 20,000 years since the last sighting, she thought he was just another old vampire who just came out of hiding. Ꞧ𝒶ŊՕ𝖇Ɛʂ
Plus, his powers hinted that he had accumulated powers for a long time.
Even Sakuya was doubtful of Wu Yan's claims.
"Do I even need to lie?"
Wu Yan shook his head.
"Well, just treat me as a newly born True Ancestor. I just happen to be powerful enough to beat you in combat. Nothing odd, right?"
"Dang it all!"
Remilia gnashed her teeth.
"Why wasn't I a True Ancestor?"
"Hey, maybe you will disappear like the True Ancestors before."
Wu Yan said tongue-in-cheek.
"Still want to be a True Ancestor?"
"So noisy!"
Remilia slapped the table.
"Pour me some tea! Tea!"
Sakuya resisted the urge to laugh while Wu Yan shrugged before pouring the sassy lady a cup of tea.
"Well, they say when at Rome, do as the Romans do. I know how to make good tea and food too. I could use it to study how to make the best blood tea. So far, none has survived addiction to my food, I will have you know."
"Oh?"
Remilia, obviously suspicious of his boast, pursed her lips while Sakuya also had the flames of competition burning in her eyes.
"I would like to see Shiro-sama's culinary skills next time."
"Of course!"
Wu Yan agreed.
"Onii-chan!"
Flan jumped down as she skipped over to Wu Yan with a plate of food in her hands.
"Flan wants Onii-chan to feed her!"
"You got it!"
Wu Yan accepted the duty. He pinched Flan's nose before picking her up.
"Come~ Ah~"
"Ah~"
Remilia is both jealous and hopeful at the same time.
Wu Yan grabbed a piece of meat before nudging Remilia by placing the fork near her mouth.
"Come~ Ah~"
"W-What is the meaning of this?!"
Remilia shrieked in bashful anger.
"I am the lord of this mansion, I don't need someone to feed me."
"Well, whatever, you don't need to pretend high and mighty at this place."
Wu Yan knocked her head lightly.
"You're the younger sister, just take this fork airplane, will you?"
"Wh-who is the younger sister?!"
Remilia panicked.
"I-I am older than you."
"Whatever, come on, eat it."
"If Nee-chan doesn't want it then Flan wants it!"
"Wait! Flan, hold up, that's mine."
The two fought over the feeding rights.
Sakuya watched the trio hang out in this wholesome breakfast session.
The large mansion felt just a little warmer to her now.
