Chapter 24: Chapter 24: I Forbid You to Die!

Regarding the matter of Daisada's abduction, Hinata knew much more about it than the average branch family member. Now that she saw Hinata Natsu coming forward, she quickly realized this as well. However, because of various reasons, Hinata didn't say much and simply treated Xu Fan as a classmate of Daisada's.

"I'm very sorry." After realizing that Xu Fan was not an intruder, Hinata Ninji directly expressed his apologies to Xu Fan. The reason he had made a sudden move was simply to protect his beloved sister.

"It's nothing." Xu Fan nodded, indicating that there was no need to take it to heart, but his gaze fell on the baby girl in Hyuga Natsu's arms—Hyuga Hanabi. Although Xu Fan had read the Naruto manga and watched the anime before crossing over, he could no longer remember many of the details. It was only upon seeing Hanabi that he recalled part of the Hyuga clan's history.

Hinata and Hijikata were obviously twins, but they were cursed with the Caged Bird Seal because they were born a few minutes late. This meant that the clan's inheritance went to the eldest son, while the second son was relegated to the branch family. But if you follow this logic, there should only be one person in the main family of the Hyuga clan. In reality, however, the main family consists of multiple members, especially when Ningji recounts his memories. It becomes clear that there have been clan elders who are part of the Hyuga clan but are not Hyuga Hinata's father and do not bear the Caged Bird Seal on their foreheads.

Could it be that it's entirely up to the Hyuga Elders to decide whether someone belongs to the main family or the branch family? If that were the case, then wouldn't the branch family essentially be slaves selected by the main family? When he thought of this, Xu Fan couldn't help but sympathize a little with Ningji's life. His own father had died a suffocating death and had even said before he died that he wanted Hinata to convey his last words to Ningji. Yet, years later, those words remained unspoken! No one present had ever told Ningji exactly why his father had died!

The catalyst for Hinata's determination to tell Ningji the truth was witnessing Ningji and Naruto sparring and seeing the talent he displayed. In other words, if Ningji hadn't been so strong—strong enough to become number one in his age group and advance to the final round of the Chunin Exams—would Hinata Hinatsuki have ever revealed the truth? And the saddest part is that, in the end, Ningji was merely repeating Hinata's fate, sacrificing himself for Naruto and Hinata.

"Thank you," Hinata Natsu suddenly said, turning around to express her gratitude to Xu Fan before explaining the situation regarding Miss Daisy. Although Daisada was a member of the main family, her personality was very shy. Even though she knew that Xu Fan had saved her, she still didn't quite dare to interact directly with a stranger like him. Hyuga Natsu hoped that Xu Fan could understand.

"It's alright. Now that I see she's safe, I'm relieved," Xu Fan nodded. "Don't worry about me. When the Third Hokage finishes his meeting, I'll go back with him." Since Daisada was too embarrassed to approach him, Xu Fan had no intention of coaxing her. He decided to stay where he was, admiring the flowers, and wait until Sarutobi Hiruzen's meeting concluded.

However, what Xu Fan hadn't expected was that just as he was about to casually pass the time, his sign-in assistance system activated once again. Receiving two quests in the same day surprised Xu Fan, but he was naturally very pleased. After all, completing a sign-in would grant him rewards and make him stronger. It was only the content of this mission that left him a little stunned.

Special Sign-in Mission Released!

The host is requested to go to the meeting room of the Hyuga Clan's house to change the ending of Hyuga Hinata's certain death. Upon completion of the sign-in, the host will receive a sign-in reward!

Xu Fan: "???"

Change the ending of Hyuga Hinata's certain death? You want me to change Hyuga Hinata's certain death ending? For a moment, Xu Fan wondered if he had misheard. Weren't sign-in missions supposed to involve arriving at a location and waiting for ten seconds? He hadn't realized there was even this kind of sign-in method.

"A special sign-in mission?..."

"Would the rewards be better if completed?..."

Although Xu Fan sympathized with Ningji's fate, he wasn't a saintly figure. Moreover, saving Hinata would inevitably involve standing against the Hyuga family and Sarutobi Hiruzen. So Xu Fan's original intention was to turn a blind eye and avoid getting involved. But now... the situation was different.

Think about the rewards from the previous sign-ins: Hashirama-level chakra, Kizuna's bloodline limit, proficiency in five chakra attribute variations, and the Lone Gourmet ability. Any of these, when placed in this world, would be unique. And that was just from ordinary sign-in quests. What about special ones? White Eyes? Byakugan? Tenseigan?

"Hiss..." Xu Fan sucked in a breath of cool air, and his mindset quickly shifted. Even if he didn't complete the sign-in, there would be no penalty. But... if there was a reward to be had and he didn't take it, wouldn't that be a loss?

"Hyuga Hinata." Xu Fan raised his head, and his gaze fell directly on Hinata. At this moment, Hinata was undoubtedly a gentle father, half-squatting on the ground, gently rubbing Ningji's head and displaying a bright smile like never before. A man was strong by nature, but as a father, he was soft! Xu Fan believed that anyone who saw this scene would not remain indifferent. People are not grass and trees, which can be bent or straightened at will! The world was unjust, and it was time to challenge it!

"Hm?" Hinata glanced at Ningji, wanting to engrave his son's appearance firmly in his heart, but he noticed Xu Fan stepping forward and walking toward him.

"Hello. Can I help you?" Hinata straightened up and asked softly. No matter what, Xu Fan was the one who had saved Miss Daisy, and the entire Hyuga family owed him a favor. Moreover, Xu Fan had been brought by the Third Hokage himself. Who would dare to neglect him?

Ningji also looked toward Xu Fan, but his thoughts were entirely on his father. Normally, his father was strict and rarely smiled, but for some reason, today he seemed like a different person—gentle and kind. It made Ningji feel strange, yet he liked this version of his father.

"I need to see the Third Hokage," Xu Fan said as he opened the door. Getting to the meeting room was easy; even if Hinata didn't show him the way, he could find it himself. The hard part was figuring out how to change Hinata's certain death. One must remember that on Hinata's forehead was the Caged Bird Seal, and with a single thought from the main family, he could die of cerebral neural death. If the situation reached a stalemate, who knows if the main family would resort to such an extreme measure?

And now, in this situation, if Hinata were told to stay away from the main family, he likely wouldn't agree. After all, Hinata wasn't being forced; he was voluntarily going to his death. The only option was to convince—or, if necessary, physically persuade—those in power to abandon this foolish idea.
