Chapter 8: Chapter 8: I Really Don’t Want to Hit You

Iruka's suggestion was like a bomb, instantly igniting excitement among the students.

"Challenging Sasuke right off the bat?"

"I can't stand Sasuke, but I have to admit, he's really strong."

"But Senju-kun is a few years older than Sasuke."

Soon, voices supporting Xu Fan emerged, but they were short-lived.

"Age doesn't matter. Remember when even a real genin was no match for Sasuke?"

"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes. Sasuke-kun taught those troublemaking genin a lesson."

"Sasuke-kun was so cool back then."

"What do you mean 'back then'? Sasuke-kun is always cool!"

The girls erupted into cheers for Sasuke, their admiration evident.

Sasuke, however, remained indifferent. He didn't care about the praise or the attention. His only thoughts were on returning to the Uchiha compound to continue his Fire Release training or to spend time with his older brother, Itachi.

"Well? Senju-san?" Iruka pressed, seeing this as a good opportunity to assess Xu Fan's abilities.

"No need."

To everyone's surprise, Sasuke's voice cut through the chatter.

Iruka was taken aback. He had expected Sasuke to welcome the chance to spar.

"Huh?"

"No need?"

"Is Sasuke giving up?"

"Hmph." Sasuke stood at the center of attention, hearing the murmurs of disbelief. But he didn't care. He just wanted to leave.

"Just declare him the loser," Sasuke said flatly, his tone steady.

The crowd erupted again.

"I knew it! This is Sasuke!"

"So cool! He didn't even ask Senju-san to concede—he just declared him the loser."

"So dominant! That's the genius of the Uchiha clan!"

"Sasuke-kun is amazing, unlike that loudmouth Naruto," Sakura couldn't help but add.

At first, they thought Sasuke was conceding, but it turned out he simply didn't consider Xu Fan worthy of a fight.

It made sense. Sasuke was not only the top student in the class but also the pride of the Uchiha clan.

This was confidence!

The girls' adoration for Sasuke only grew.

"Why does it always involve me?" Naruto muttered, feeling left out. He couldn't understand why Sasuke always stole the spotlight.

Then, Naruto pointed at Sasuke. "Sasuke, challenge me if you dare!"

"Alright, alright," Iruka sighed, trying to maintain order. Sasuke was exceptional, but his aloofness often made it hard for him to connect with his peers.

Still, there was no denying that Uchiha Sasuke was a genius.

Typical Sasuke, Xu Fan thought, feeling a mix of amusement and exasperation.

No matter the situation, Sasuke always managed to exude an air of superiority.

But...

Seeing the disdainful looks from his classmates, Xu Fan couldn't just let it slide.

If he backed down now, he'd look like a coward.

It was like being in middle school and having an elementary school kid try to bully you.

"Alright, Mr. Iruka, can we wrap this up?" Sasuke said impatiently.

"Actually, I really don't want to hit you," Xu Fan said, stepping forward to face Sasuke.

The chatter died down as the students focused on the two.

Even Naruto, who had been eager to challenge Sasuke, fell silent, his eyes darting between the two. He clenched his fists, feeling conflicted.

On one hand, he wanted Xu Fan to win. On the other, he knew how strong Sasuke was.

Sasuke wasn't just the top student—he was on a completely different level.

Xu Fan would lose, and he'd lose badly.

The other students shared similar thoughts. None of them favored Xu Fan.

"Go, Sasuke!" Sakura shouted, breaking the silence.

"Go, Sasuke-kun!" Ino joined in, her voice even louder.

"Ino-pig!"

"Forehead girl!"

The two glared at each other before turning their attention back to Sasuke, their cheers growing louder.

"Go, Sasuke!"

"Go, Sasuke!"

The boys, meanwhile, stayed quiet. While some secretly hoped Sasuke would be humbled, they knew better than to voice it.

After all, Uchiha Sasuke was in a league of his own.

"I don't think you understand what the name Uchiha means," Sasuke said coolly, his hands still in his pockets.

"I'm a member of the Senju clan," Xu Fan replied, his tone calm.

"Heh." Sasuke smirked. He knew about the Senju clan, but its glory days were long gone. The Uchiha, on the other hand, were still a force to be reckoned with.

"Go on, new guy," Sasuke said dismissively, still refusing to take his hands out of his pockets.

"Sasuke," Iruka interjected, reminding him of the proper etiquette. Sparring wasn't just about fighting—it was also about respect. The Seal of Reconciliation was an important part of the process.

"Fine, Iruka-sensei," Sasuke said reluctantly, finally forming the Seal of Reconciliation.

Xu Fan mirrored the gesture, forming the Seal of Opposition.

Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office, Sarutobi Hiruzen observed the scene through his Telescope Technique, using a crystal ball.

Xu Fan's first-day spar with Sasuke had caught his attention.

The Senju clan and the Uchiha clan—two legendary names.

It reminded him of the two titans who had clashed in the Valley of the End.

But now, due to the policies of the Second Hokage, the Uchiha clan harbored deep resentment.
