Signing In At The Civil Affairs Bureau, I Was Rewarded With A Gorgeous Wife

Chapter 524: Whatever You Fear Will Come!

The impact caused by the Drul Diamond Group was the talk of the town, with countless eyes fixating on them.

The former chairman of the Drul Diamond Group also made inquiries through a trusted intermediary, wanting to see who had the audacity to mess with him!

But soon after receiving feedback, the former chairman of the Drul Diamond Group fell silent as he stared blankly at the computer screen, at page after page of names and information on the other party.

He found that if he were to single out one, he might be able to put up some resistance, but if these people were hell-bent on bringing him down, it would be all too easy!

Especially Earl Jackson, who was at the top of the list. Although Jackson didn't have much in terms of funds, his influence and network were far greater than that of Drul's!

Why would someone go to such lengths to trouble him?

He thought and thought, but couldn't understand why!

So, he sent the information on these individuals to various senior managers, but the feedback he got was that no one recognized this earl!

Then why did it seem like the other party wouldn't let up? Could it really be a caprice?

No!

If he didn't get to the bottom of this, he felt he would never rest in peace!

So, he spent tens of millions of US dollars to hire seven or eight intermediaries before he finally obtained the contact information.

The former chairman of the Drul Diamond Group listened to the busy tone on the phone, his mood anxious to the extreme!

"Doo~click~"

The phone was answered, and the voice of Earl Jackson, with the tone of a seasoned nobleman, came through: "Hello, this is Jackson. May I ask who's calling?"

"Good day, Your Excellency, I am Joson, the chairman of the Drul Diamond Group. I hope my abrupt call hasn't intruded on you."

Joson said in a humble tone.

"Oh, Joson from the Drul Diamond Group, what is it that you want?"

Earl Jackson asked in a tone feigning ignorance: "Besides, I don't recall ever giving you my private phone number. How did you come by it?"

"I hope you don't mind that. I really had no other choice, so I decided to personally reach out to you. Has our Drul Diamond Group done something wrong to offend you?"

"Not at all. On regular days, I don't pay much attention to the diamond market; there's been no intersection with your company."

"Then why..."

Joson paused, then asked resolutely, "Why are you orchestrating so many people to target the Drul Diamond Group!?"

"Heh, are you questioning me?"

Earl Jackson's voice was smiling, but the chill in his tone could easily be felt even at the other end of the phone!

"Yes! The only thing I want to ask you is this. We haven't even met in person before, so to say there's a feud would be far-fetched. If I am to die, I want to die with a clear understanding!"

"It's true that your Drul Diamond Group hasn't offended me, but you've crossed someone else you shouldn't have. Our principle has always been: stand by everyone and everyone will stand by you. Unfortunately, Drul just had to be the one we targeted."

Earl Jackson spoke indifferently: "If you still don't know what happened, then there is no reason for Drul to exist, and it's time for you to step down from your position as chairman!"

"I..."

Joson felt a surge of frustration, but then he suddenly remembered something, a minor detail that was easy to overlook!

That was, Wayne, who had recently gone to Hua Country to explore the market, had requested to mobilize resources to subdue the arrogance of some companies in Hua Country!

Originally, he thought that the partnership negotiations had not been successful and that showing the other party the magnitude of Drew's business capabilities was necessary, so he approved it.

But now, upon careful reflection, everything about the situation seemed off!

"Thank you, Count, I think... I've found the root of the illness."

After hanging up the phone, Joson fiercely slammed his fist on the desk, then immediately picked up the phone to call Wayne across the ocean.

Wayne, on the other end, was frantically reaching out to one company after another, but he continually failed to receive any response from them, leaving him feeling frustrated and confused.

Just as Wayne ordered hotel services and a masseuse to ease his shoulder and neck tension, the phone rang.

Seeing the note marked BOSS on the caller ID, Wayne quickly signaled for the masseuse to stop and cautiously answered the call, standing to his feet.

"Wayne! You damn bastard! Do you have any idea how much trouble you've caused the company?!"

Chairman Joson let out a torrent of scolding at Wayne, leaving Wayne completely bewildered by the accusations.

"Chairman, I don't know what you're talking about…"

Wayne had been busy meeting various executives recently and hadn't had the time or the mind to pay attention to whatever big issue had befallen the company.

So he was utterly confused—he might not have succeeded in developing the Hua Country market, but at least he had put in effort if nothing else, right?

Why was he being scolded right off the bat???

"Putting on an act? Fine! Let me ask you, where did those resources you applied for recently get used?!"

Chairman Joson asked coldly.

Hearing this, Wayne's heart suddenly picked up speed; could it have something to do with Song Yun?

"I... I used them for negotiating partnerships. I was very optimistic about a potential partner in Hua Country, but they were always at odds with us and even severely hampered Drew's progress. So I gave them a bit of a warning in the industry."

"Ha, you think you're something? A warning? Now they've turned around to warn the company themselves!"

Joson shouted furiously, "Now our mines have been shut down, and it's unknown when they'll restart! The banks are pressing us to repay loans and have frozen all our group's business transactions! Do you know how much loss this will cause the company???"

"You really are an idiot!"

"It shouldn't be an issue on my part... as far as I know, they were just slightly wealthy..."

"Wayne! Dammit, you're just a high-level employee of the company! When you're dealing with a boss who is so many levels above you, can't you just act accordingly!" Experience new stories on My Virtual Library Empire

Joson cursed furiously, "Right now, fortunately, the luxury brands haven't pressured us. Otherwise, if they demand the gems agreed upon in the contracts, what will we give them!"

"Bang bang bang!"

The door to Joson's office was pushed open by the secretary, who rushed in shouting, "It's bad, Chairman, thirteen luxury brands are pressuring us together, demanding we deliver the diamonds agreed upon for this month!"

It's over...

Exactly what I feared has happened...

Thirteen brands!!!

Even if we used the stockpile of diamonds, it would merely be a drop in the bucket!

Thinking about the enormous penalties for breaching the contract with each brand, Joson felt the world spinning around him in an instant!

"Wayne, no matter what you've done before, now go and apologize to that important personage immediately! Go quickly!"
