Inside Corey's room in the inn of Veyrith City.
Corey sat on the chair in his room with his right leg crossed over his left leg, and his face resting on his left fist. The chair was pushed backwards, with two of its legs raised above the ground.
'I still can't believe that of all the skills I failed to improve in, it's my Axe Intent which I previously considered rather easy to improve in the past…
'Sigh… As expected of an ability given to me by one of the strongest beings in existence. None of the rewards he gave me were simple… Maybe even the dual battle axes have a secret in them, but I can't notice it because I'm too weak?'
Corey released another sigh as he slowly released his weight on the chair, allowing its two raised legs to touch the ground.
"Now, I'm just coming up with so many random and foolish thoughts." Corey held his glabella with an exhausted expression, and then he yawned.
It was slightly surprising to Corey that he yawned because he could not remember the last time he yawned. He rarely got exhausted to the point where his body and mind actually needed sleep, however, when he thought about it, he was no longer surprised.
He had not rested for a single second in the past three days, and what he had been doing was so taxing and difficult that even some Immortals would not be able to accomplish what he accomplished. Experience more tales on My Virtual Library Empire
He had increased his proficiency of eight skills to an Unparalleled level in just three days, and three of those skills were Manipulation skills.
Corey knew it was absurd, extremely absurd. However, his Stars of Consciousness were the soul origins of the dead gods of his universe, and although he had no idea at what tier one became a god, what he knew was that the soul origin of a single god was priceless.
The computational power and ability of a single Star of Consciousness was immense. It was like he was using the computational power of the mind of a god, and it was because of this immense computational power that he has been able to accomplish so many of the unbelievable feats he had accomplished.
However, if Corey knew that he was using just a fraction of the computational ability of the Stars of Consciousness… he would not be surprised.
'I should get some sleep.'
Corey released another yawn, and then he walked to the bed. As he walked to the bed, his clothes moved like countless granules of greyish-black sand at the same time, and the clothes got absorbed into Corey's body, leaving Corey in a piece of shorts.
With a soft exhale, he fell face flat on the bed, his face perfectly hitting the pillow on the bed. He closed his eyes, and then time went by.
Approximately a minute later, Corey's eyes slowly opened with a scowl. His expression changed a lot of times, and then some seconds later, he released a deep and long sigh.
He sat on the bed, and then his body was covered by countless granules of black sand. A second later, Corey wore a grey long t-shirt, baggy pants, and high-top sneakers.
Corey looked around, and then his gaze landed on the door. His lips parted open, and then he mumbled softly.
"One… Two… Three… knock."
Knock! Knock!
A knock resounded in his room, and Corey got up with an indifferent expression. He opened the door, and then his deep violet and light blue eyes reflected the images of Dave, Divine, Melissa, and Old Man Poison.
Seeing so many people in front of him, Corey's lips could not help but twitch, and he had to suppress the yawn that threatened to escape his lips by inhaling deeply.
"Why are you guys here?" Corey looked at Divine, and Divine smiled.
"Dave is fully healed, and he wants to perform a divination so that we can have an idea of where to go." Divine said as he entered Corey's room without permission."
'I don't need a divination to know what I'm meant to do next. I know that I have to leave the Shattered Dimension as soon as possible. I also know that I need to get some sleep to fully recover.'
'However, I'm curious as to how Dave performs Divinations. What does he do, what are the steps and precautions to be taken, and how dangerous is it?'
'Sigh. I blame myself for this. I'm tired but I cannot find it in myself to chase away these fellow curly haired baboons so that I can get some much needed sleep.' Corey lampooned inwardly as he approached his bed, making way for Melissa, his Master, and Dave to enter his room.
As Corey sat on his bed, he suddenly had a thought, 'Wait, why does the divination need to occur? I'm sure they can do it in any other person's room.'
Corey glanced at Divine with a suspicious glint in his eyes. Divine looked back at him and smirked with a triumphant light in his eyes.
'Huh?'
Corey was baffled, but then he suddenly looked at Dave, only to also see the blind alcoholic smiling at him with a bottle of alcohol in his left hand.
At that moment, Corey realized that Divine and Dave decided to perform the divination in his room as payback.
Due to his personality, they knew he'd prefer it if he was left alone in his room, however, because he had ruthlessly sent them out of his room, they decided to be petty in their own way.
'Sons of bitches.' Corey cursed them inwardly with a scowl.
"Once I finish this bottle of alcohol, I'll perform the divination. It might be a hassle divining for things in this damn place." Dave said, and Divine, Melissa, and Old Man Poison, nodded.
Just like that, Dave took his sweet time and spent ten minutes finishing the bottle of alcohol. Those ten minutes were one of the longest ten minutes of Corey's life due to how sleepy and exhausted he was.
