Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 566: 565: Gathering of Twelve (2)

"After so long, we've been able to interpret the writings on the scroll. We-" Malrik Tenebris' voice reverberated in the room, and some gazes landed on him.

"Do not use the word, 'we'. I interpreted the scroll, not you." Alaric of the Mage Association cut off Malrik with an arrogance that was not hidden in the slightest.

"Do you really think you have the right to utter such words? If not for the Crown Prince of the Empire, do you think you'd have been able to interpret the writings?" Lysandra of the Pleasure Sect scoffed. She took a glance at the cross-legged crown prince of the Supreme God Empire whose eyes remained closed despite the utterance of his title.

With a reluctant expression, Lysandra shifted her gaze to the scroll.

Alaric's expression changed, and though he desired to retort those words, the fear and respect he had towards Eryndor made him swallow back his words.

"Just as we suspected, the scroll had information about the Stairs of Ascension." Orion of the Divine Spear Sect spoke without bothering about the bickering between Lysandta and Alaric.

Vanya of the House of Vampires twirled her hair with a light smile, and then she spoke, "A Throne, and an extremely important object that can be found in the Stairs of Ascension."

"An Infinity Crystal." Malrik completed her words, and the atmosphere became solemn as silence reigned.

"The Chief of my tribe warned me to be careful of an extremely powerful entity at the Stairs of Ascension. I never expected it to be the combination of a Tainted and a Principality." Raksha of the Beast Tribe spoke with a light smile, his voice was extremely deep and rough, and slight vibrations could be felt in the air as he spoke.

Although he had a smile, his eyes were frighteningly serious.

"It's the same for all of us, beast." Darius of the Werewolves mocked with a grin, "Our elders and those in charge of us cannot tell us certain things about this dimension like the Throne. I don't know why, but I don't give a damn. The only thing that matters to me is that the so-called Throne gives a good fight before I knock it off its damn throne."

Darius laughed loudly, however, Raksha's expression was one of indifference as he stared at Darius like he was observing a bug.

"All of you are bickering about something that's completely irrelevant." Alaric raised his arms and spoke with a louder than normal tone.

He looked at the Chosens around with a frustrated and curious light in his eyes. "You guys are not talking about the most precious object that can be found in the Stairs of Ascension… The Infinity Crystal!"

Alaric slammed his hands on the table and stood with an expression of desire.

None was taken aback or surprised by his actions since they already knew of his instinctual love of the unknown.

"Even though I'm a Chosen of the Mage Association, I only know tidbits about Infinity Crystals. Some of you might not know, but even Immortals would kill to have an Infinity Crystal or a fragment of an Infinity Crystal. They are extremely priceless objects."

The room became silent once again, and then Zeran of the Scorching Sun Kingdom disrupted the silence.

"Most, if not all of us have some knowledge of Infinity Crystals, but there's a reason we chose to be silent about it," Zeran spoke with a cold and calm tone while tapping his left index finger on the table.

"If we're able to find and obtain the Infinity Crystal, who would take it? And can it be taken? If it can be taken, why haven't the elders and leaders of our organizations taken the Infinity Crystal? What makes you think we'll be able to obtain the Infinity Crystal?"

"And most important of all, who is going to be the owner of the Infinity Crystal if we all work together to obtain it?"

Alaric's expression changed to one of frustration and slight anger as he looked at Zeran.

"We won't know if we don't try? Breakthroughs and evolution are made by those who try to go above and beyond the norm. Those who restrict themselves to the norm and defined 'limits' of others would always remain average."

Zeran's lips curled upward slightly, and he could not help but chuckle softly. "We all know you're trying to use us to obtain the Infinity Crystal. You want us to do all the work, and then you'll run off with it."

Alaric's expression changed, and Zeran shook his head softly.

"You think you're smart but you're not."

Alaric clenched his fists tightly as he gazed at Zeran with rage in his eyes, "Do-"

"Enough."

A calm but authoritative voice echoed in the room, and all eyes moved to the source… Eryndor.

His eyes were open, revealing their majesty and beauty to the world. Eryndor's golden pupils glowed faintly with indifference and unveiled superiority as he gazed at the eleven other Chosens around him.

"Gather people, whether they're Outsiders or Tainteds. They would be used as distractions against the Throne when it inevitably attacks us and tries to stop us from climbing the Stairs of Ascension."

Eryndor paused, and his indifferent golden eyes shifted from one chosen to the other.

"I don't care how you do it. I don't care if you enslave, threaten, trick, or make a deal with other Outsiders and Tainteds, just make sure you have enough people with you… You have a week to do this."

"Those that don't do this should be prepared to face the consequences." Eryndor calmly threatened every single individual around the table, and though they were displeased, they knew just how dangerous and terrifying Eryndor was.

Eryndor paused for a few seconds, and then he glanced at Alaric and Zeran.

'As for the Infinity Crystal, the elders and leaders of our various organizations came to an agreement… If any one of us is able to leave the Shattered Dimension with the Infinity Crystal, then it would be theirs."

"If the Chosen with the Infinity Crystal is attacked, threatened, or killed because of the Infinity Crystal, a war would be waged on the individual's organization and the individual's family would be slaughtered to the last.'

Eryndor lowered his right leg and slowly pushed his chair to the back as he stood.

'That is all. Make your necessary preparations, and make sure to not be a burden against the Throne… One thing I despise are burdens and useless people"

'That's two things not one, Crown Prince Eryndor.' Sylva Morrell of the Hunters Association thought inwardly but didn't dare to say her words out loud.

Without waiting for a reply from the eleven Chosens, the Crown Prince of the Supreme God Empire walked out of the room.

The Chosens looked at one another, and surprisingly, they knew they all had the same thoughts regarding Eryndor's words.

'He said that if any one of us is able to leave the Shattered Dimension with the Infinity Crystal, it would be theirs. But that does not mean one cannot kill another for the Infinity Crystal in the Shattered Dimension.' Alaric thought with his right hand covering his mouth.

Not wanting to spend another minute in the room, he stood and walked out of the room. Several minutes later, the remaining Chosens left the room.
