Chapter 659: 658: Auction (9)
Kings
Emperors
Monarchs
These three titles were common in the world of Mortals but in the world of Immortals, they signified something else entirely.
The leaders of Kingdoms like the Scorching Sun Kingdom and the Supreme Sea Kingdom are called Kings.
Meanwhile, the leader of Empires like the Supreme God Empire, the Mortal Empire, and the Celestial Empire are called Emperors.
As for Monarchs, they were myths and legends in their universe.
Emperors are beings that are either Tier 9 or they're on par with Tier 9s.
As for Monarchs, it's believed that they're beings that have surpassed Tier 9 and had reached the fabled Tier 10. However, this was wrong.
Top Tier organizations like the Empires knew that Monarchs were half-step Tier 10s, not true Tier 10s.
However, the difference between a half-step Tier 10 and a Tier 9 was so vast that it was said that a hundred Tier 9 could never defeat a half-step Tier 10.
As for the Blade Monarch, the Blade Monarch was a being that only organizations with a rich, deep, and more than a hundred millenia history would know of.
He was a being that had once terrorized their universe.
So many Emperors and other Tier 9s tried to stop him but with a single swing of his blade, he killed every opponent he faced with immense ease.
His ability with the blade was so impeccable to the point that even the greatest and most talented swordsmen of their universe were like trash before him.
The Blade Monarch was also one of the primary reasons that intent was widely feared and respected.
He was also one of the reasons that their Universe became curious about Intent and desired to know about Intent.
The battle between several Tier 9s and the Blade Monarch was an extremely dangerous battle that led to the destruction of countless planets, and if not for the intervention of an Overseer, none would have been able to stop the Blade Monarch.
This was also another reason why Overseers were widely feared and respected because of the ease at which the Overseer stopped the Blade Monarch.
Anon's Stars of Consciousness blazed brightly as numerous thoughts and questions went through his mind.
Once again, this was the first time he was hearing of a new realm called Monarchs.
Divine had explained that Kings and Emperors were equivalent to Tier 8s and Tier 9s respectively, however, he never knew about Monarchs.
He was even searching the E-Underworld for information on not only Monarchs, but on Kings and Emperors, but he saw nothing.
Not even an iota an information on what Kings represented in their universe.
'Even if I wasn't able to buy anything in this auction, it has broadened my view on a lot of things... It was not a bad idea to attend the auction.'
'Well, not like Calista would have allowed me to miss it.'
Anon wryly smiled, and just as he smiled, Calista's voice echoed in the auction hall.
"Alright, let me make an introduction on the ninth item to be auctioned."
"This is the right arm of the Blade Monarch. The genuine right arm of the Blade Monarch. It's not a replica or a fake, but the genuine right arm. I'm sure all of you felt the terror of the power in the arm."
"I'm sure all of you are dying to know how I got hold of this priceless object, but guess what... That's none of your business."
"I didn't want to sell this item, but I have no use of it. It's not useful to me in any way anymore, so I decided to sell it to gain something that can be useful to me."
"Anyway, that's enough of me. Let me talk about the item."
"The Blade Monarch is a terrifying legend that's said to have achieved swordsmanship so perfect that it bordered on the divine. He was a peerless swordsman whose every strike carried the weight of a thousand battlefields."
"Legend states that in his battle against the Overseer, the Monarch faced a terrible curse that sought to strip him of his power."
"However, rather than allowing his skill to fade, he severed his own arms and embedded all his swordsmanship into them."
"This is one of the reasons why even a mere hologram of his arm was able to affect all of you this much."
Calista paused, and then she glanced around.
"Although I said all of these, I might be wrong and I might be right. But who cares, let's bid."
"The bid starts at...."
Calista took a very long pause, and she teasingly glanced at the anxious expressions of those who sat on the lowest seats and the middle seats.
She could read their expressions as clear as day, and she as well as every other person knew that the bid for the arm was going to be amongst the Empires and those in the high seats.
Every other organization and person beneath them were not qualified to partake in the potential bidding war of the arm.
They were going to be observers.
The thought of the events that would follow caused a smile to appear on Calista's face, and then her lips parted open to continue her words.
However, before a word could leave her lips, a calm voice echoed in the auction hall.
"200 Immortal Shards."
The moment this voice rang out in the auction hall, every single individual thought it was the Supreme God Empire that had placed such an absurdly high bid from the get go, however, it was surprisingly the Supreme Sword Sect.
At first, people were taken aback because the Supreme Sword Sect had never for once placed a bid on any item, however, as one of the top and most elite sword organization in the universe, it wasn't surprising that the Supreme Sword Sect decided to place a bid on the right arm of the Blade Monarch.
"Aren't you a joke, do you really think you can outbid all of us with just 200 Shards?"
