Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon

Chapter 842: 839: The Second Night (6)

The creature tilted its head again, and its dozens of eyes twitched in erratic patterns as it stared at Corey, and then the Thirteenth Dawn.

The Thirteenth Dawn remained motionless as they were entrapped in the powerful illusion Corey had placed them in.

Using the illusion ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes was draining his spiritual energy at an extremely rapid pace despite the improvements he had made in recent years.

However, Corey knew that he had no choice but to use the illusion ability of his Tri-Pupil Eyes on the Thirteenth Dawn because that was the most powerful and effective illusion ability he had in his arsenal.

Using Infinite Mirage would have worked, and would be less draining compared to his Tri-Pupil Eyes, but it would not be so effective.

With his Tri-Pupil Eyes, not only were the bodily senses of the Thirteenth Dawn affected, even their spirits were affected.

This was why they were rooted on the spot with a dazed expression.

If he was using Infinite Mirage, the Thirteenth Dawn would be moving about and engaging in a 'battle' against the creature.

'Apart from the fact that Kieran and the others would not be moving about which could lead to them being in the crossfire of my battle against this creature, even if they were hit, they would not be brought out of the illusion... As long as the force that acts on them is not powerful enough to shake their spirits.'

Corey looked at the Thirteenth Dawn, and then he snapped his fingers and a dozen hexagon barriers appeared around them.

'That should be enough.'

He shifted his gaze back to the monster, and his gaze fell on the severed arm of the monster which was twitching behind it.

He frowned when he saw this.

'The severed arm is trying to regenerate on its own? Is another creature going to be formed from the arm?'

'Interesting.'

'I subtly used a fraction of my mana from the Poison Infinity Crystal when I attacked it, and it seems like Chimeric Venom also works on it.'

He recalled the description of Chimeric Venom, one of the basic skills he chose after advancing to Tier 3.

----

Chimeric Venom: A passive ability that allows your poisonous mana to temporarily evolve depending on the enemies you fight. When facing a fire-based opponent, your poison-based mana would adapt to the flames and heat. When facing a fast opponent, your poisonous mana would slow down your opponent's reaction time. Each adaptation is temporary, but it makes your poisonous mana extremely unpredictable.

----

Chimeric Venom was also one of the skills he had experimented on using the monsters of the Trollspire Dungeon.

Just like the skill said, it was a skill that allowed his poisonous mana to temporarily evolve and adapt to the constitution of the enemy he was fighting.

When he used it on the creature, he had not been certain if it would have any effects, but to his slight surprise, it did.

The creature was not a monster. It was literally a corrupted monster. A monster that was tainted with the sinister energy of death.

For his poisonous mana to be affect a creature was a pleasant surprise to him.

'If Chimeric Venom wasn't disrupting the arm's regenerative abilities, would it have grown into another body?'

Corey wondered out of pure curiousity, and then he focused on the arm that was still attaced to the monster.

He could see it regenerating just like the severed arm, but the difference was in the speed.

It was regenerating faster than the arm on the floor.

'Chimeric Venom is affecting it, but it's still able to regenerate this fast?'

'... Hmm... I can feel its mana disintegrating my mana... Well, it's not surprising since I only used a fraction of mana and I'm also a Tier 3.'

'Besides... I've been using the mana of the world in my attacks ever since.'

Corey pointed at the twitching arm on the floor, and an azure, silver, and violet fireball appeared at the tip of his finger.

The creature roared when it saw what Corey was about to do, and the moment Corey released the fireball.

It shot out one of its appendages at the fireball.

Just as the fireball was about to touch it, a grey light suddenly engulfed it, and it vanished.

Reappearing behind the monster, directly in front of the arm.

Bang!

Flames erupted, and a shrill scream of pain was released by the creature as its arm was burnt to a crisp.

'Dreamfire is truly the bane of spirits, souls, and things related to death and nightmares.'

'Once I advance to Tier 4, I should enter the Realm of Dreams and Nightmares... That's also when I'll be able to understand Dream Healing, Dreamfire, Somnambulism, and my other Dream skills with ease.'

Corey did not know why, but he could not help but smile at the thought of exploring another realm entirely.

Meanwhile, the creature shrieked loudly as it bared its serrated teeth as he took a step forward.

He tilted his head slightly at the monster, and with a wave of his fingers, blazing crimson fire surged into the air beside him.

Words formed.

"Why are you hesitating?"

"Come."

The monster twitched, and its neck turned further than it should have before straightening with a sickening pop.

Then if shrieked once again.

Shadows writhed beneath its feet, and then it lunged forward at a speed that sent the house shaking.

Corey smiled, and then he raised his left hand.

One of the black axe that was given to him by the Paragon Ancestor appeared in his palm, and he casually flung it.

Thrum!

The world thrummed, and the creature's instincts screamed at it when it felt the power behind the axe.

It moved to the side, but then it stumbled.

It looked down, and it found its legs and tendrils being chained down by black chains that emitted an ominous dark smoke.

Noxious Chains

It attempted to break the chains, but more formed, and the moment it tried to move, the ground became muddy, causing the creature to not have a proper foothold.

The creature roared, but it was too late.

Corey's axe pierced its skull, sending it flying to the wall of the house, breaking past it, and causing cracks to appear on the ground.

Black blood dripped from its shattered head as it felt its insides being shredded by a terrifying power that caused fear to be born in its heart.

Step

It heard the sound of footsteps, and then it looked.

It saw Corey, and it unleashed a weak shriek, and it attempted to get up. But numerous black chains which emitted a black fog appeared around it, binding it to the ground, making sure it could not move at all.

Corey stood in front of it, and he shook his head. He waved his hands, and words made out flames appeared beside him.

"You lack combat experience."

"Your illusion powers are great, but you didn't use them... Or you're afraid that it won't work on me?'

The monster's face churned and twisted, and Corey's expression instantly became dark when he saw what the monster had become.

Anna.

A light smile appeared on Corey's lips.

"You're so stupid."

The moment these flaming words appeared beside him, Corey pointed his palm at the monster, and he released an unrelenting wave of Dreamfire on the creature.

The screams of the creature travelled far and wide in the Dying City till it stopped.
