Skill Maker in a Game Like World

Chapter 102: Claire

"At first I thought I wouldn't be doing anything in this organization," Enzo said.

"It's just a simple task without any risk, it will even get you praised, I think you only benefit from doing this," Ruby replied.

Although her words sounded kind, she was actually giving him a look as if she didn't allow him to refuse.

No wonder Jack left so hastily, as if he was afraid of her.

This woman had a truly domineering personality.

"Let's go see Claire," she said again as she stood up.

"Who is Claire?" asked Enzo in confusion.

"My personal assistant, the daughter of Mayor Vera. Don't you know her? You went to high school with her," Ruby replied, much to Enzo's surprise.

Of course, he did, he just dropped out prematurely.

He went to a free but very large public school that accepted many poor students.

It wasn't a school for children of the elite, but Claire went there because her father wanted to set a positive example by having his daughter mingle with ordinary people even though she preferred to be alone at school.

She only interacted with other students when it was important.

Enzo was the same age as her, had even been in the same class as her, and he had heard that she had awoken about a year ago, earlier than most people.

Her Innate Skill was known to be interesting as she was able to summon undead that became her soldiers.

Enzo couldn't help but be surprised to hear that she was Ruby's personal assistant.

Curious to see her, he followed Ruby to one of the doors.

When the door was opened, he found that there was another smaller hallway.

However, this was no ordinary hallway.

Enzo found many iron fences on its walls where people were being locked up.

He didn't know who they were because they were all dressed in prisoner's clothing.

In some prisons, he even found undead that were completely composed of skeletons yet alive, having red eyes with mouths that could speak.

What the skeletons did was torture, forcing the prisoners to obey the Dark Star Palace.

Ruby passed by each prisoner casually without even glancing at them.

They also didn't seem to know that she was the boss of the Dark Star Palace.

At the end of the hallway, there was another staircase that descended downwards.

And underneath, Enzo found a vast basement, separated into two areas by a black glass facade.

One small area and one huge area.

In that vast area, Enzo found many giant monsters chained and tortured by the Undead who asked them to submit to the Dark Star Palace.

Apparently, all the monsters could speak. This meant that they were Monster Bosses.

Even the Monster Boss was forced to submit, Enzo didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Ruby truly had unbridled ambition.

Who would have thought that in the underground of Vera City there would be a place like this.

Given the extent of this basement, it could no longer be considered to be in that transportation company's office. This was already under Vera City. Making it wouldn't be easy, but it could definitely be done quickly if the powerful Awakeners cooperated.

Enzo's eyes darted to the side where he saw a black-haired woman with a ponytail sitting behind a desk, typing on a computer.

She had clear white skin that appeared to be visible even in the rather dark room.

Her expression was calm and her eyes seemed to always be focused on one thing.

She was wearing a white shirt lined with a suit, even wearing a tie, like a working elite.

It could be said that her appearance was very much in keeping with the formality of a professional without any flashy jewelry on her body.

She only wore simple silver earrings.

Her eyes stopped staring at the computer screen when they arrived.

She turned her gaze to them, then looked at Enzo in particular.

As an intelligent woman and also an Awakener, there was no way she could not remember that they had been in the same class.

Of course, now she probably knew him better as her boss's younger brother.

"Claire, what did your uncle say?" Ruby asked her.

"Boss, my uncle hasn't given a clear answer. I suspect he hasn't given up and might be looking for help," Claire replied which made Ruby knit her brows.

"He's really stubborn," Ruby said with a look of obvious annoyance.

In no time, her eyes turned cold again.

"Have the rest of his family gone into hiding?" she asked.

"Yes, even my father went into hiding for a while. Previously I had to secretly sneak out to come to the base because I myself was also asked to hide even though I am an Awakener."

"I see, but if he still doesn't give up, use the second plan, order the members to use the Storm World in Area 51. I want the air force researches destroyed," Ruby said.

Enzo, "..."

Once again, he was torn between laughing and crying when he saw how aggressive his older sister was.

However, he then showed a strange and awkward expression.

Storm World, isn't that artifact now in his hands, which he stole from Jack.

Apparently, this organization was not yet aware that the Storm World in their hands was a fake.

And Enzo was sure that they only had one because it was a very rare artifact.

Meanwhile, Claire nodded to Ruby before typing again on her computer, presumably sending a message to the organization's members about their boss's orders.

After which, she said, "They'll be in action at midnight..."

"Good!" Ruby smiled when she heard that.

"Looks like your mission to become a hero will have to be postponed for a while," she said to Enzo.

She then gazed at the monster prison where the Monster Bosses were being tortured relentlessly by the Undead.

Making them surrender was not that easy, but even the Monster Bosses screamed while being tortured.

When the opportunity arose, they stared at Ruby and Claire vengefully.

"Looks like no one is giving up today," Ruby said.

"Boss, I'll use more effective torture later," Claire replied in a gentle tone, as if she had concerns about Ruby judging her poor performance.

"By the way, have you gotten any information on Liam's location in the Primordial World?" asked Ruby afterwards.

Hearing that name, Enzo narrowed his eyes slightly.

Liam was a famous Awakener from Vera City, who was the owner of the Primordial Red Moon, the father of Rosa.

In the past, Enzo only knew that he was very strong, but recently, he had looked on the forums and learned that he was one of the Awakener who reached the Ascendant Rank.

That was the reason why no one dared to mess with his shop.

Was Ruby targeting him so she was looking for his location?

Who was stronger between them?

Claire looked at her computer again.

A moment later, she nodded.

"Her location has been found. She seems to be in the Desolate Swamp, secretly helping her daughter manage a town."

"Hmph, he's always avoiding me, but I assure you he will avenge the harm he has done to us. He should at least pay dearly," Ruby said after hearing Claire's words.

"Are you going to the Primordial World, boss?" asked Claire.

"Yes, I'm going now. Before I return, I want you to accompany Enzo while he's in this base and fulfill his needs," Ruby replied.

"Yes, boss!" Claire nodded without hesitation.

After that, Ruby finally summoned her portal and stepped into it.

"Young boss, is there anything you want to do?" Claire gave Enzo a question right after Ruby left.

He could not help but feel strange being called young boss by her even though her tone was quite casual.

"You're really Claire, right?" asked Enzo in response.

"Yes." The woman nodded lightly.

"I thought you were her twin," Enzo said in a joking tone.

"I don't have a twin," replied Claire, seeming to take his words seriously.

"But you look a lot different than you did in high school," Enzo said again before sitting down at the table next to hers.

"By the way, no need to call me young boss. You can call me by my name, I'm not comfortable being called that by old acquaintances," he added.

"Even if you want it that way, I can't disobey the boss's orders. She's the one who gave the order to all the members to call you young boss. If I'm not the same as the others, it could cause a negative stigma, especially since it's only your wish, not the boss's."

Enzo, "..."

"What exactly made you join this criminal organization? Although I'm not familiar with you, I don't think you're the type to have an evil side," he said.

This was something of a curiosity and Enzo could not understand what was going through the woman's mind.

He was pretty sure that she was undergoing a change, not really a pure villain.

After all, what was she looking for? She didn't look as power-hungry as Ruby.
