Solo Leveling: Infinite Talent

Chapter 46: Chapter 46

The night sky stretched infinitely above, a canvas of darkness speckled with distant stars. A gentle wind carried the scent of damp earth and the faint metallic tang of blood. The battlefield had long since fallen silent, yet the weight of conflict still lingered in the air.

Mai Lee stood at the center of it all, his gaze fixed upon the ruins ahead. He was no stranger to victory, but each fight carved new scars into his soul. His muscles ached, but his mind was sharper than ever. He had come too far to falter now.

A notification blinked in the corner of his vision, pulling his attention to the status window:

[Partial Status Update]

Strength: +20

Agility: +17

Mana: +25

New Skill Acquired: "Phantom Stride"

Talent Fusion Successful: "Void Predator" (Merged from Shadow Hunter and Abyss Instinct)

His lips curled into a grin. "Void Predator... Now that's something worth testing."

The fusion had created a talent that pushed his stealth and predatory instincts beyond their limits. He could now move unseen, his presence fading into the very shadows, and strike with a precision that bordered on premonition. A fitting ability for the path he was walking.

A rustling sound from the nearby ruins snapped him out of his contemplation. His instincts flared. Something was watching him.

Mai Lee turned slowly, eyes scanning the debris-strewn landscape. His senses, amplified by his newly fused talent, locked onto a presence hidden within the shadows. He didn't react immediately, choosing instead to let the tension build. Then, without warning, he vanished, activating Phantom Stride.

A blur of motion later, he reappeared behind his observer, his blade at their throat. "Spying on me? Not the best idea."

The figure stiffened but didn't struggle. A female voice, calm yet edged with tension, spoke. "I had to see it with my own eyes. The hunter who took down an entire raid boss alone."

Mai Lee loosened his grip slightly, allowing the stranger to turn. Moonlight illuminated her face—sharp features, piercing green eyes, and the sigil of the Black Crescent Guild stitched onto her cloak.

"And?" Mai Lee asked, lowering his weapon but not his guard.

She smirked. "You're stronger than the rumors say. But strength alone isn't enough in this world. Power invites enemies. And you, Mai Lee, have attracted more than you realize."

He narrowed his eyes. "Who sent you?"

"No one. But there are those who are watching. The Guild Masters, the rogue factions, even the ones who lurk beyond the dungeons. They know about you now. And they're either going to want you on their side—or dead."

Mai Lee exhaled slowly. He had anticipated this moment, but not so soon. The game was shifting, and he needed to be ahead of it.

"Then let them come," he said, voice unwavering. "I'll decide who walks away."

The woman studied him for a moment, then chuckled. "You're either incredibly brave or incredibly foolish. Either way, I look forward to seeing how this plays out."

Without another word, she melted into the shadows, leaving Mai Lee alone once more. He glanced at his status window one last time before dismissing it.

The path ahead was growing more treacherous, but he had never been one to shy away from danger. If power invited enemies, then he would welcome them with open arms.

Because in the end, only the strongest would survive.
