Son Goku Senju

Chapter 22: XXI

When Tsunade realized that her son was once again with her, she felt a sense of relief. It has been over half a year since she last saw Goku. By this point, she has Goku wrapped in a bear grip and kissing him every inch of his face. Seated at a table not too far away from the scene where Tsunade and Goku were, Shizune wore a smile on her face but also a worrisome expression on his face. Because she was aware of how tough Tsunade's bear hugs can be, she was both thrilled for Tsunade and concerned for her younger brother, Goku.

Goku: Mom, it is difficult for me to catch my breath. Please try to relax your embrace for me. I would appreciate that because my bones are beginning to shatter as a result of the strain that your arms are applying to me.

Goku saw Shizune sitting at a table, and Goku called out to her.

Goku: I ask you, Sister, to provide a helping hand to our family.

Shizune would simply turn her head away and act as if she were not paying attention to Goku when she heard him calling out to her.

Goku: Beloved sister, Betrayal, unclear. Why have you turned on me now?

Shizune couldn't hold her laugh anymore after hearing her brother speak. Shizune stood up from her seat and walked toward Tsunade and Goku. She asks Tsunade to let go of Goku since everyone in the bar is staring at them. Tsunade finally let go of Goku, and he dropped to his knees, trying to catch his breath. Shizune used her medical ninjutsu as her hands started to glow green. She placed her hands on Goku's back.

Shizune: It's not quite as terrible as I had anticipated it would be—a total of only four of your ribs are fractured. You will be entirely recovered by the time tomorrow morning rolls around.

Goku: Easy for you to say since you are not the one getting Mom's hugs.

Tsunade lowered herself and helped Goku stand.

Tsunade: Come, let's return to our table, and you can tell me everything you've been up to in these last six months.

Shizune cast a warm smile his way, her fingers playfully tousling his spiky hair, while Goku emitted a satisfied purr, enjoying the gentle affection as she continued teasing him. As she stopped moments later, Shizune, Tsunade, and Goku began their walk toward the table where Tsunade and Shizune were seated.

Across the bar, both Jiraiya and Naruto lay on the floor.

Naruto: What in the world was that? All I could see was a blur that was heading in our direction, and then, a split second later, I found myself eyeing the ceiling of the bar.

Jiraiya: Come, let's get up. We found the person we were looking for.

Jiraiya and Naruto made their way toward the table where everyone was sitting. They hear Goku telling Tsunade and Shizune about the mission he went on with the other teams.

Jiraiya: Hi, Tsunade; it's been a while.

Since Tsunade solely concentrated on Goku's voice, she ignored Jiraiya. Jiraiya took a deep breath as he realized that it would take some time for him to grab Tsunade's attention when she was only concentrating on what Goku was saying.

Shizune: It's good to see you again, Jiraiya sensei.

Jiraiya: It's good to see you again, Shizune.

It was becoming increasingly confusing for Naruto to understand what was taking place. As a result of the fact that it appeared to him both Goku and Jiraiya were familiar with these people, he felt left out and slammed his hands on the table in an attempt to get answers.

Jiraiya: Come down, Naruto. These are the people we were looking for all this time.

It was Jiraiya's words that caused Naruto to be confused. For a brief moment, he focused on Tsunade, then turned his gaze back toward Jiraiya.

Naruto: Pervy Sage, you said that Tsunade was an older woman in her fifties. Last time I checked, people don't look like her in their fifties.

Jiraiya: You idiot, don't let her looks fool you. She is old.

Naruto looked back at Tsunade, not believing what Jiraiya was saying. But then Naruto quickly realized something that left him mesmerized. Naruto was staring at Tsunade's gigantic chest and couldn't believe it. Goku quickly realized what Naruto was staring at, so in quick movement, Goku took out a kunai and threw it at Naruto, scraping his right cheek. Naruto was so surprised at how fast Goku moved that he didn't even see the kunai fly at him.

Goku: I'll be careful where you look next time. I'll aim for the eyes next time.

Jiraiya: Hey, if I were you, I'd listen. As much as Tsunade overprotects him, he does the same thing toward her. Goku has never liked it when boys and men stared at his mother since childhood. So trust me when I say he will go for your eyes when he catches you.

Naruto understood Jiraiya's warning; several minutes passed when a waitress came to the table and asked the new party if they wanted to order anything. Then, all of a sudden, it hits Naruto.

Naruto: You said his mother. The older woman you kept talking about is Goku's mother. She's the one we need to bring back to the village.

Jiraiya: Shut it, kid. If she hears you call her old, it's your funeral.

Naruto: Goku! This whole time, we have been tracking your mother.

Goku: Yeah, didn't Ero-Sannin tell you?

Jiraiya: Enough talking; how about we order something to eat?

Jiraiya ordered meat and vegetable skewers and more alcohol. Naruto ordered a plate of sardines, and Goku ordered two of everything on the menu. The waitress just looked at the adults, and they just nodded their heads up and down, letting her know that it was okay and she shouldn't worry. Naruto was the only one at the table surprised by the amount and how fast he finished each plate of food. While the adults just ate and drank in peace. Goku had finished eating all of his food and was still a bit hungry.

Goku: Maybe I should order another round of food.

Shizune: Goku, I think that is enough for today. I'll take you to the best BBQ place in town tomorrow.

Shizune had a nervous smile on as she looked at the horrifying face of the waitress. Goku then looks at his mother, and she smiles at him.

Goku: So, Mom, how much have you lost since arriving here?

Tsunade: What do you mean? I haven't lost anything yet.

Goku: Yeah, I'm not buying it. Shizune, how much has she lost?

Before writing down a number, Shizune would first take a few deep breaths and then proceed to take out a pen and paper. Following that, she handed the piece of paper to Goku. Once he glances at the paper, Goku places it back on the table and checks it.

Goku: Uhh. At this point, I thought the amount would have been far higher than this.

Curiously, he wanted to know the amount, so he grabbed the piece of paper and saw the amount. Naruto's jaw hit the table. He couldn't believe the amount.

Naruto: Why are there six zeros behind the other numbers? Just who are you, people?

Goku would just laugh at Naruto's reaction.

Goku: Okay, I'll be right back. I'll see if I can win back the money with some interest.

Goku would make a hand sign, and five adult versions of Goku with a slightly darker skin tone, the eyes are more defined, and the physique is significantly slimmer. He is wearing a green with gold chains Potara earring on his right ear.

Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Shizune were shocked at Goku's appearance, but no one was more surprised than Tsunade. She could only stare at Goku as she stood and faced him with teary eyes.

Tsunade: Bardock.

Goku: Hmm. No, it's me.

Tsunade: Sorry. Is that for a second? I thought I saw your father.

Shizune: Lady Tsunade.

Tsunade: You are almost a spitting image of him. I would put on a little more muscle and a cross scar on your right cheek. You'll be a perfect image of him.

The tears were welling up in Tsunade's eyes as she approached the right side of Goku's face. While she was reaching out to him with her hand, Goku had the impression that his mother was ready to caress his cheek. He imagined she might have had a flashback to the past and remembered his father. Almost immediately, Tsunade shifted her focus to the right ear of Goku and placed her attention on the earring he was wearing. As Goku screamed out in agony, Tsunade quickly grabbed hold of his ear and proceeded to punch him gently.

Goku: Ouch, ouch. That hurts. Let go of me, woman.

Goku knew right away he had messed up. Not even a second had passed, and Goku was already outside, lying on the ground, looking at the stars. Goku tried to sit up, but he noticed a gigantic hole in the bar's wall. Goku saw his mother in the sky, falling toward him, preparing to drop an Axe kick on him.

Goku: Wait, wait, wait! It was a joke. It was a joke!

Tsunade landed the kick on Goku's midsection, creating a vast crater underneath Goku's body. Before he fell unconscious, Goku could have sworn he felt and heard his spine break in half. Tsunade bragged to Goku, tossed him over her shoulder, and walked into the bar through the hole in the wall.

Tsunade: Shizune, we are heading back to the hotel.

Jiraiya: Wait, Tsunade, we need to talk.

Tsunade: We can meet up tomorrow before sunset for a talk. There's a small food stand by the village entrance; we'll meet there. In the meantime, I will be spending some time with my son and teaching him some manners.

Naruto: Three hits. She took out Goku in three hits.

Jiraiya: She wasn't even using her full strength.

The following morning.

Goku lay on a bed, sleeping, making settled movements in a sign of him trying to wake up.

Goku: It's so soft and warm that it feels like my old blanket.

Tsunade smiles and finds a place to rest next to Goku in response to his comments. Tsunade would begin to gently stroke Goku's spiked hair while she was kissing him on the forehead. As a result of Tsunade's loving behavior, Goku would gently nestle himself deeper into Tsunade's chest.

Goku would quickly wake up as he felt he was suffocating.

Goku: I almost died again. What happened?

Tsunade: Good morning, son.

Goku: Good morning, Mom. Why are we sleeping in the same bed?

Tsunade: Is it impossible for a mother to sleep close to her child, whom she has not seen in more than six months, for even a single day?

The door to the hotel room would open at that very moment, and Shizune would stroll in, holding two cups of hot coffee.

Shizune: Lady Tsunade, I brought that coffee you wanted. Ooh, good morning, Goku. If I knew you would be awake, I would have brought you a cup of coffee, too.

Goku: Good morning, Shizune. You know that I don't like coffee at all. It tastes too sour, no matter how much cream or sugar I put in.

Shizune: I remember the first time you tried it. You thought it was some type of black soup.

Goku: By the way, what time is it?

Shizune: It's about to be noon.

Goku: What! I'm late. I need to start my training.

Goku got up and was about to leave the room when he heard his mother's voice.

Tsunade: Kakarot, stop. We need to talk.

Goku heard the seriousness in Tsunade's tone of voice, so he did not complain, just walked over to his mother's and sat on a chair in the hotel room.

Tsunade: Give me your report on the village for the last six months.

Goku took a deep breath and began his report. He explained in detail every mission he went on. He also explained what happened during the Chunin Exams and the death of the 3rd Hokage. He also told her how the council chose Jiraiya to be the next Hokage, but he refused, and he recommended you for the next Hokage.

Tsunade: That bastard.

Goku: Furthermore, you were correct all along. Knowledge of medical ninjutsu is significantly lacking in the village. I have had discussions with every single member of Kakashi's, Asuma's, Guy's, and Kurenai's team, and they have all informed me that they were not taught any kind of medical ninjutsu at the academy, not even the basics.

Goku took out two scrolls and gave one to each Tsunade and Shizune.

Goku: I had heard a rumor for a while that led to an investigation. In those scrolls is my proof, which led me to do my research and discover that the head medical director of the hospital had been charging exorbitant patients, firing most of the nurses and physicians, undercompensating the staff that remained, and overworking them. I found out this information after conducting my investigation. And the additional cash has been going straight into his pocket. Also, I did discover that the top members of the civil council have joined together and begun jacking up their prices, making it more difficult for villages with lower incomes to purchase the necessities of life, such as groceries, clothing, and rent.

Both Tsunade and Shizune were shocked and furious by Goku's findings.

Shizune: I didn't think things could be this bad in the village.

Tsunade: Sensei had a tremendous amount of faith in the leaders of the village's civil council. An immediate dissolution of the civic council ought to take place after the third great ninja war.

Goku looked outside the window and saw that it was getting late. And he knew that he wouldn't get any training today, but at least he could gamble in the casino and betting houses.

Tsunade: Good job, Goku. I'm proud of you.

Goku: Thank you, Mother, or should I say Hokage?

Tsunade: I haven't yet made my decision just yet. I'm meeting up with Jiraiya. He will probably try to convince me to accept the role of Hokage.

Goku: By the look in your eyes, you have accepted the role already, Mom.

Shizune: I agree with Goku.

When Goku looked up at his sister, he would smile warmly at her. Shizune would also return a smile at Goku, and then she would gently stroke his hair.

After finishing talking, Goku gets up and leaves the room, leaving Tsunade and Shizune to think about the situation in Konoha. Tsunade remembered she needed it to meet with Jiraiya, so she and Shizune prepared to go. As Goku left the hotel, he quickly made his way toward an area where no one was around and made five shadow clones appear, just like the ones from last night, the adult versions of himself. He ordered each one of his clones to head out toward the gambling houses and leave the casino to him.

After a couple of hours had passed, Goku walked with a smile on his face after collecting all of his winnings, along with a bit more cash that his mother had lost gambling, as Goku passed the bar where he had earlier noticed Naruto and his mother. Goku watched his mother engage in combat with Naruto from a distance. He started to run toward them to have a better look at what was going on. When he arrived, he saw Naruto on the ground, having difficulty standing up, and his mother was yelling at Jiraiya.

Tsunade: Damn it, Jiraiya. Are you the one who taught this little brat the Rasengan?

Jiraiya: Well, of course, I did. I am his teacher, after all, and what of it?

Tsunade: Only you and the Fourth Hokage can use that jutsu. No one else can. It is pointless to teach it to someone who will never be able to master it, you old fool. What is the point? Providing him with a false sense of hope and filling his mind with ridiculous beliefs, such as leading him to believe he would one day become Hokage, what are your examples of behavior?

Naruto: I'll show you who is stupid. Give me three days, and I'll master this jutsu.

Tsunade: How about a wager, then?

Naruto: A wager.

Tsunade: If you master that jutsu, I'll head back to the Village and become the next Hokage. But you don't master it. I'll get to keep every single dime you have at the moment.

Naruto was about to refuse the wager, but he saw in Tsunade's hand another wallet, his money wallet.

Naruto: When did you and how? Fine, I'll take that wager and make you eat those words you said about the third Hokage.

Naruto took off running to an undisclosed location to begin his training.

Goku: What I miss.

Shizune: It's not much. After Lady Tsunade joked about the Hokage's status, Naruto became enraged due to her actions. Subsequently, a fight broke out, and Lady Tsunade and Naruto made a wager that during the next three days, Naruto would have to have complete mastery of the Rasengan.

Goku: I was hoping we could head out by tomorrow. I have got a bad feeling.

Shizune: How so?

Goku: while in the casino, I got the scent of snakes all around the casino. It left me uneasy.

Shizune froze at Goku's comments. She knew who, or, more likely, what it was, Goku could pick up.

Goku: Are you okay, Shizune? You look pale. Maybe we should head back to the hotel and get some rest.

Shizune: Yeah, we should. I'll go and get Lady Tsunade. She's a bit drunk.
