Son of the Dragon Queen

Chapter 8: Chapter 8 – The Queen, the Princess, and the Prince of Clan Nova.

I woke up and rubbed my eyes groggily, only to find my mother watching me with a warm, affectionate gaze.

"Good morning, dear," she said softly, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"Good morning, Mama," I replied, still nestled in her embrace.

"Yesterday we got all dressed up, but we didn't make it to Amadrum. So, we'll go today. Let's get you fed first," she said with a smile, pulling me close to her soft, generous chest.

Ever since our walk a few days ago, she had taken to sleeping naked beside me. She never really bothered with clothes anymore, and while I wasn't going to complain, I had long since learned to shut off unnecessary thoughts. For now, it was feeding time—and nothing beat that warm, delicious milk.

After drinking my fill and kneading her breast with my tiny hands into whatever shape I desired, I planted a soft kiss on her lips. A drop of milk clung to her lower lip, but she simply licked it off, then leaned forward and gently licked the corners of my lips, cleaning up any leftover traces.

She rose from bed and pulled me along with her. After a warm bath together—something that had become routine—she dressed herself in her elegant black gothic gown. She adorned me in the same outfit as yesterday: a crisp white shirt, black vest, pants, polished shoes, and a bright red bowtie.

Once we were ready, she held me in her arms and made her way outside the castle. Two guards flanked the massive castle gates. When they spotted her, they immediately rose from their seats and stood at attention.

"Greetings, Your Majesty," they said in unison, neither too loud nor too soft, their tones completely neutral. My mother, however, didn't spare them even a glance as she strode forward, her steps regal and composed.

I squirmed slightly in her arms and rested my head on her shoulder. My little legs dangled at her sides, while she supported me with both hands placed on my small bottom. It may have looked awkward, but to a baby, it was oddly comfortable. Besides, I am a baby. No one would question it.

Looking back at the guards, I saw them still bowing. Their caps were removed, resting at their sides, and one hand was placed over their hearts. They seemed to deeply respect my mother—or was it fear? Perhaps it was merely the weight of her status. I mulled it over until a soft voice interrupted my thoughts.

"The carriage is ready, Your Majesty," a woman's voice said.

I turned and saw a maid bowing respectfully. She wore a classic black-and-white uniform with frilled edges, sheer stockings, and a composed smile. Her blonde hair was neatly tied, and her green eyes sparkled with quiet competence. She looked to be in her late twenties, with a graceful air and a figure that would've made any man drool—well, any man who hadn't already been surrounded by celestial beauties like my mother and sister. I stared for a moment longer than I should have, until—

"How long are you going to keep staring at her, dear?" my mother teased, gently patting my back. I quickly turned away and buried my face in her chest.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

She laughed. "It's alright, baby. Mama won't scold you. She never could."

I nodded softly, then looked around. "Big Sis isn't coming?"

Just as I asked, a familiar face popped out from the carriage window.

"Hey! Now you remember me? You didn't mention me even once since our training session!" Milim pouted playfully.

"Fufufu… wasn't it you who ran away first?" my mother teased.

"Alright, alright! Let's not talk about it. We're getting late!" Lucy huffed and waved us toward the carriage.

My mother and I laughed gently and climbed in.

Milim was wearing a white version of our mother's gothic dress, complete with a matching hat and a white rose pinned in her bun. If mother looked like the Queen of the Night, Milim was a radiant snow princess. Truly stunning.

"You look beautiful, Big Sis," I said, sincerely.

She smiled sweetly and kissed me on the lips. "Thank you, dear. You look quite handsome yourself."

My mother pouted. "Oh? Won't you compliment this poor, old mother of yours too, dear?"

"Yes, yes. Mom, you look beautiful too," Milim replied dutifully.

"Then where's my kiss?" Mayvelin teased with a mock-innocent tone.

Blushing, Milim leaned over and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. But that wasn't enough for Mother.

She caught Milim's hand, pulled her close, cupped her face, and gave her a long, deep kiss on the lips. Milim squirmed, trying to escape, but Mother's strength was unmatched. When she finally let go, she chuckled softly.

"Thank you, dear."

Milim was flustered, her face glowing pink. She tried to act annoyed, but the slight upward curl of her lips betrayed her.

I looked between the two, confused but not entirely surprised. If they were this close, that just made my job of bringing our family closer even easier in the future.

The carriage began to move.

Its exterior bore the insignia of the Dragon Royal Family—Clan Nova. On both sides of the dark, majestic carriage was a symbol: a pitch black eastern dragon eating its own tail which looked like infinity symbol.

The insignia was a symbol of absolute power.

Only three individuals in the world were allowed to display it openly: Queen Mayvelin, Princess Milim, and me—Prince Melicas Nova. Anyone who dared show disrespect to this mark was executed without mercy. Families of offenders were wiped out without hesitation. No kingdom, no clan, no fool dared challenge the might of the Nova bloodline.

And thus, our journey to Amadrum began.
