Soul Land 2: Body Sect

Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Tang Wutong and the Signal Axe

Chapter 334: Tang Wutong and the Signal Axe

Tang Wutong curiously examined the signal axe in her hand, swinging it to test its weight. The sharp blade of the axe sliced through the air, producing a tearing sound.

Meanwhile, beneath her feet, eight soul rings—five black and three red—began to rise. After a burst of light from the signal axe, a dual-colored red and green soul ring coalesced on the axe, positioning itself as Tang Wutong's ninth soul ring.

Waking up as a titled Douluo, could this be just because she is Tang San's daughter?

"Is this my new spirit now?" Tang Wutong gently touched the signal axe.

"Yes, due to the damage to your soul, your previous two spirits could no longer be used," Du Qianjue explained. "So, I used your Hao Tian Hammer as the basis to condense this signal axe as your new spirit."

"That ninth soul ring is the innate soul ring of the signal axe. The deeper your negative emotions towards Tang San are, the more power it can unleash." I like to call it Tang San's nemesis treasure.

"I understand," Tang Wutong nodded lightly. A chilling hatred flashed in her ice-blue eyes, and the signal axe, empowered by her emotions, nearly glowed with intensity.

"You can use it as a Hao Tian Hammer in daily situations. Although the spirit has been transformed, it still retains the characteristics of the Hao Tian Hammer, and they are both heavy weapons," Du Qianjue reminded her.

"You can still use the hammer techniques you practiced before with the signal axe."

The secrets of the Hao Tian, created by Tang Chen, the peerless Douluo from Hao Tian Sect thousands of years ago, included the Hao Tian Nine Extremes and the Great Xumi Hammer, which secured the Hao Tian Hammer as the number one weapon spirit on the continent.

Tang Chen himself was regarded as one of the three strongest beings in the world, known as the strongest on land, a title he achieved on his own without any sect or backing.

Naturally, Tang Wutong had learned these techniques. Although she hadn't gotten around to learning the Great Xumi Hammer, she knew a bit about the Hao Tian Nine Extremes.

After getting a bit familiar with her new spirit, Tang Wutong turned to look at Niu Tian and Tai Tian with a complex expression. Before regaining her memory, she always thought that Niu Tian and Tai Tian were the true masters of the Hao Tian Sect. Only now, having regained her memories and learned more from Du Qianjue, did she realize that they were not the sect masters at all.

Nicely put, Tang San had sent them to protect her. Bluntly put, they were just another of Tang San's pawns, or else they wouldn't have been so easily controlled by Du Qianjue.

What really troubled Tang Wutong was the unconditional love they had shown her. In the years she lost her memory, Niu Tian and Tai Tian were like real fathers to her, providing all the love and care she needed, more so than Tang San ever did.

"Big Daddy... Second Daddy..." Tang Wutong called out to them painfully.

She knew Du Qianjue wouldn't let them go, but she had no right to plead for them. Yet, she still looked at Du Qianjue with pleading eyes.

"Can you spare my Big Daddy and Second Daddy? Please, I'll do anything, even if it means becoming your servant for life!"

Moved by her words, tears welled up in the eyes of the two giant men, pained and foolish-looking.

"Thank you, Little Wutong, but there's no need. We should have died thousands of years ago. Having lived this extra millennium is more than we could have asked for," Niu Tian said with a content smile, looking at Tang Wutong with a gaze filled with love. "You must live well after we are gone. Live with hope for the future and don't let yourself be used by Tang San anymore."

"It was our fault for not seeing clearly, which allowed Xiao Wu to get close to her, leading to the current situation. Don't follow in our footsteps," Tai Tian added.

"Really, death is nothing to be scared of. Compared to other soul beasts, my brother and I have no regrets," Tai Tian said with a carefree smile.

Their life experiences over tens of thousands of years included battles where life and death were on the line and encounters with gods from the divine realm. They had also once possessed great power.

Compared to the many ten-thousand-year soul beasts who died unwillingly under the heaven's tribulation or those hunted by humans, these brothers were indeed fortunate.

"Live well!" This was the brothers' final blessing to Tang Wutong.

"Big Daddy, Second Daddy..." Tang Wutong cried uncontrollably. "Please let them go, I beg you! I'll do anything, even become a slave or a servant!"

Tang Wutong fell to her knees in front of Du Qianjue, sobbing and begging.

"I'm afraid that's not possible. They are the soul rings I've reserved for myself. If I let them go, I'll have nowhere to find my last two soul rings," Du Qianjue said casually.

His words plunged Tang Wutong into despair.

But soon, Du Qianjue gave her another hope.

"Although I can't spare them, I can give you their souls. Once you become a god in the future, you can revive them yourself," Du Qianjue suggested, touching her head gently.

"Really?!" Tang Wutong blinked rapidly, quickly wiping away her tears, hopeful.

Du Qianjue nodded, his expression unreadable.

Tang Wutong was having a tough enough day, and she was also a crucial part of his plan against Tang San. Since killing Niu Tian and Tai Tian and preserving their souls was just a minor effort, Du Qianjue felt no need to refuse her this small request.

"Thank you, thank you..." Tang Wutong clenched her lips tightly, her voice filled with gratitude.

As Niu Tian and Tai Tian looked at each other, their expressions filled with confusion and speechlessness.

We've just finished our final words before death, and now you're telling us we don't have to die? Was that all just a waste of emotion?

Du Qianjue: How about I just extinguish your souls too, to make your final words feel more emotional?

Niu Tian, Tai Tian: No, no, we're good living.

After everything was said and done, and the arrangements for Hao Tian Sect were concluded, Du Qianjue took Tang Wutong, Niu Tian, Tai Tian, Du Busi, Xue Linglong, and Bi Ji back to the original sect.

Clasping Niu Tian and Tai Tian's gray dragon claws, Du Qianjue suddenly unleashed a surge of chaos energy. The bodies of Niu Tian and Tai Tian began to evaporate like steam, gradually dissipating into the dragon claws.

The dragon claws were retracted by Du Qianjue.

All that was left were a dark gold soul ring and a green gold soul ring, each with a soul orb floating inside.

The dark gold soul ring belonged to Tai Tian, representing strength and earth, while the green gold ring belonged to Niu Tian, representing water and lightning.

Each ring contained a soul orb—one representing their undying soul forms, the other their sleeping souls.

Du Qianjue casually created a jade token infused with life-giving gold powder and spirit-nurturing jade, sealing the souls of Niu Tian and Tai Tian inside, then tossed it to Tang Wutong.

"These are their souls. With the life-giving gold and spirit-nurturing jade, plus the soul-nurturing method I used to craft this token, these two can remain without soul decay for a thousand years," Du Qianjue explained.

"Now their lives are in your hands. When you become a god, you can crush this token to release their souls, and then it will be up to you to revive them. It shouldn't be difficult for you."

Tang Wutong carefully stored the token and respectfully bowed to Du Qianjue. "Thank you, Master. I will strive to become a god and then revive Big Daddy and Second Daddy!"

Du Qianjue nodded, then suddenly realized something was off.

"Wait, when did I become your master?" Du Qianjue asked, puzzled, a multitude of question marks appearing over his head.

"I mentioned it before. If you're willing to spare my Big Daddy and Second Daddy, I am willing to serve you for life," Tang Wutong said with a smile, her voice tinged with a mixture of emotions.

Sss...

This Tang Princess...

Du Qianjue gasped, partly because of Tang Wutong's voice and partly... he discreetly removed Xue Linglong's hand from his waist.

"I don't need you as a servant. Just be yourself. I have plenty of servants and don't need one more. Just focus on your cultivation, and when the time comes, give Tang San a fierce blow with your axe. That will be the best repayment for me," Du Qianjue said as he led Xue Linglong away without looking back.

Watching Du Qianjue's departing figure, Tang Wutong tilted her head and placed her hand on her chest, feeling her fiercely beating heart.

In her heart, not only did her blood boil, but so did her endless hatred towards Tang San.

"A fierce blow with the axe, huh..."

"I will, Master!" Tang Wutong smiled sweetly and murmured, "But one blow won't be enough to quench my anger!"

...

As for Du Qianjue...

He had returned to the small courtyard with the soul rings and bones of Niu Tian and Tai Tian, absorbing them to not only complete his dual-spirit's eighteen soul rings but also to further perfect his Chaos God Armor.

The initial Chaos God Armor, developed from the left and right arm bones of the Ice-Fire Dragon King, had evolved step by step into a true god armor. But it wasn't enough.

Only by adding more valuable materials could he make his god armor even more powerful.

And after absorbing the two soul rings, Du Qianjue could start contemplating how to pass the sixth trial of life and destruction.
