Soul Land: Full Body Martial Soul

Chapter 43: 43: Encounter in Soto City

The next morning, Yang Xiong followed the directions provided by the sect's personnel and set out on his journey. After traveling for only two days, he encountered Ning Rongrong in a bustling town along the way.

However, upon seeing Ning Rongrong surrounded by large and small packages, it became clear that she was thoroughly enjoying her shopping and sightseeing adventure alone, showing absolutely no intention of actually heading to school anytime soon.

Ning Rongrong immediately brightened up when she spotted Yang Xiong approaching. "Little Xiongzi, hurry up and help me carry all these things! Didn't you leave early and arrive in this town ahead of me? I've been searching everywhere - why couldn't I find you anywhere in town?"

Yang Xiong stared speechlessly at the enormous collection of items Ning Rongrong had accumulated. "Rongrong, don't you have a spirit guiding device for storage? Why are you still carrying all these things around manually?"

Ning Rongrong looked particularly smug and pleased with herself. "My spirit guiding device is already completely full! Soto City is quite far from here, isn't it? I simply decided to buy even more things while I had the chance."

She paused before adding with a cheerful tone, "Also, don't call me 'Rongrong Student' in the future. Just call me Rongrong - it sounds much better and more natural."

Yang Xiong felt utterly speechless. "Alright, Rongrong. Soto City is thousands of miles away from our current location. Do you seriously want to slowly walk there while shopping and sightseeing along the entire way? We should rent a carriage and get on the road quickly if we want to arrive on time."

Ning Rongrong seemed completely casual and unconcerned about their timeline. "Going to school is just a side trip anyway. It's so rare to finally leave the sect like this, without the constant supervision of Dad, Sword Grandpa, and Bone Grandpa watching my every move. I want to have a really good time and enjoy my freedom."

Yang Xiong felt helpless. How had this playful little witch, Ning Rongrong, managed to end up at Shrek Academy in the original storyline? The logistics seemed impossible given her current attitude.

However, seeing Ning Rongrong's determined expression, Yang Xiong realized he couldn't say anything more to change her mind. He had no choice but to follow her around, idly strolling through the town's streets for the better part of half a day.

The shopping and purchasing power of this young lady was indeed remarkable and somewhat frightening. In just thirty minutes of serious shopping, Yang Xiong found himself already carrying an impressive collection of items and packages.

Despite his growing frustration, under Yang Xiong's stern requests and persistent persuasion, the two of them finally began their proper journey toward Soto City in a rented carriage the following day.

Even so, the little witch's playful nature couldn't be properly restrained or controlled. She constantly insisted on stopping to play and sightsee along the way, behaving exactly like a sheltered child who had never seen the wider world before. This behavior left Yang Xiong feeling completely helpless and occasionally exasperated.

However, putting aside her playful tendencies, this little witch's cultivation talent was genuinely impressive and noteworthy. Even while sitting in the carriage during their travels, she could cultivate peacefully and maintain focus. Yang Xiong estimated that she wouldn't be too far from reaching level twenty-nine. In terms of raw talent and potential, she wasn't much lower than legendary figures like Tang San and Xiao Wu.

Approximately ten days later, the two travelers finally arrived in the prosperous Soto City.

Soto City served as the second largest city in the Barak Kingdom and displayed impressive prosperity and development throughout its districts.

Unexpectedly, the two of them ended up staying at the Rose Hotel, which was quite famous and significant in the original storyline. Yang Xiong recognized the establishment immediately.

However, they had arrived relatively early in the season, and considerable time still remained before the school term would officially begin. The situation hadn't yet reached the point of being overcrowded with students and visitors.

The hotel waiter's eyes immediately lit up with interest when he observed Yang Xiong and Ning Rongrong approaching to inquire about staying at the establishment.

"Waiter, we need two rooms," Yang Xiong stated clearly.

The waiter regarded the two young people with a meaningful and somewhat knowing expression crossing his features.

"Are you two absolutely certain that you need two separate rooms? I'm really sorry to inform you, but we only have one room remaining available right now. You could either squeeze together into one room, or perhaps consider other arrangements."

Ning Rongrong, the spirited little witch, actually displayed a hint of blush coloring her cheeks when she heard this suggestion. Although the two of them had spent most of their traveling time meditating and cultivating, they had still become much more familiar and comfortable with each other compared to their initial interactions.

Yang Xiong didn't waste time with unnecessary words and directly produced a bag filled with gold spirit coins. "Two of your finest rooms, preferably located adjacent to each other. Otherwise, we'll simply go to another hotel that can accommodate our needs."

The waiter's face immediately transformed into a broad, welcoming smile. "Of course! Let me check again - there are indeed two excellent rooms available. I sincerely hope you both enjoy your stay at our hotel."

Following this exchange, the two young spirit masters settled into the Rose Hotel, waiting quietly and patiently for the school term to officially begin.

Ning Rongrong spent her days exploring and shopping throughout the city, returning to the hotel each evening to rest and meditate. Meanwhile, Yang Xiong dedicated himself to meditation and cultivation at all times except during meal periods.

Since successfully cultivating the Yin-Yang Meditation Method, his cultivation speed seemed significantly faster than his previous methods. His spirit power circulation flowed much more smoothly and efficiently, and there appeared to be no troublesome bottlenecks hindering his cultivation process. According to his careful estimates, he would be able to break through to level twenty-seven in as little as half a month.

However, Ning Rongrong frequently sneered at Yang Xiong's dedication, feeling that he was far too boring and single-minded, knowing only how to cultivate without enjoying life. If it weren't for Ning Rongrong's complaints that eating alone felt too lonely and her insistence on dragging Yang Xiong along every day for meals, they probably wouldn't have seen each other for days at a time.

On this particular day, when Yang Xiong and Ning Rongrong returned from their evening dinner, they discovered a violent fight taking place within the Rose Hotel. Many of the tables and chairs had been destroyed and scattered across the floor.

Yang Xiong's expression became noticeably serious when he observed the two sides engaged in combat before them.

The two individuals fighting were clearly spirit masters of considerable skill. One possessed the White Tiger martial spirit, while the other wielded the Blue Silver Grass martial spirit. They appeared to be fighting with genuine intensity and enjoyment.

Dai Mubai had striking blond hair and stood approximately 1.8 meters tall. He appeared quite handsome and imposing, though the two young women accompanying him seemed somewhat out of place in the violent scene.

Tang San measured about 1.7 meters in height, with short black hair and wearing simple blue clothing. He looked relatively ordinary and unremarkable, but his movements demonstrated exceptional agility and grace.

Yang Xiong felt a spark of recognition and looked around the scene more carefully. Sure enough, his eyes located a particularly cute and striking girl observing the fight.

The girl had reached approximately 1.7 meters in height and appeared exceptionally slender and graceful throughout her entire frame. Her face displayed a naturally pink complexion, and she was not only remarkably beautiful but also possessed a distinctive hint of playfulness in her expression. Most notably, she wore two long scorpion braids that extended nearly to her thighs.

This girl was unmistakably Xiao Wu, also known to be a hundred-thousand-year spirit beast in human form. Even Yang Xiong, who considered himself well-informed and experienced, felt a fiery look flash through his eyes. A hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and spirit bone represented some of the most precious treasures in the entire spirit master world.

However, within just an instant, Yang Xiong forced himself to restrain and control these thoughts. With his current level of strength, he remained far too weak to claim a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring and spirit bone. Not to mention that the legendary Tang Hao still lurked somewhere in the shadows, protecting his son.

After an intense battle between Tang San and Dai Mubai, the confrontation finally concluded peacefully without serious injury. Dai Mubai departed with the twin girls in his arms, while Tang San and Xiao Wu remained at the hotel as they had originally intended.

Ning Rongrong observed Dai Mubai's behavior with obvious disdain and disgust, clearly looking down upon this type of playboy behavior.

Yang Xiong maintained a more casual and understanding attitude. Spirit masters held extremely high social status throughout the Douluo Continent, and it was considered perfectly normal for successful ones to have multiple women in their lives.

However, judging from the battle dynamics between the two combatants, Dai Mubai's fighting style leaned toward being strong and fierce, worthy of possessing the prestigious White Tiger martial spirit. Tang San demonstrated more flexibility and adaptability, displaying superior combat techniques and skills. The Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon techniques had definitely been utilized during the recent battle, otherwise Tang San would never have been able to match Dai Mubai's raw physical strength.

Ning Rongrong expressed her displeasure openly. "Little Xiongzi, it would have been much better if you had taught that lecherous tiger a proper lesson just now. I'm very unhappy with his arrogant appearance and behavior."

Yang Xiong replied matter-of-factly, "He's a Spirit Grandmaster, a complete realm higher than my current level. We shouldn't risk ending up being taught a lesson by him instead of teaching him one. That would be quite embarrassing for us."

Ning Rongrong snorted dismissively. "He's just a Spirit Grandmaster - so what? He's much older than both of us, which gives him an unfair advantage. Besides, even if he is a Spirit Grandmaster, you're not really afraid of him, are you? Dad told me that your combat power is incredibly strong, and fighting Spirit Grandmasters across cultivation levels shouldn't be a problem for you at all."

"What do you young ladies actually understand about the complexities of fighting across levels?" Yang Xiong asked with mild amusement.

Yang Xiong simply sighed and returned to his room for continued cultivation. The current versions of Dai Mubai and Tang San were both still very young and inexperienced, and honestly, it wouldn't prove too difficult for him to defeat either of them in single combat if the situation truly demanded it.
