Sous

Chapter 47: Hacate Arc: Twelve

Sous closed the book of the diary of Hacate. She sat in Clarence's library after having been sent there when the three sisters needed to travel to a client that was quite a ways away. She had no idea Clarence was that old. She thought he was about the same age as Shadow.

The chair squeaked on the floor as she pushed it back. She took the book and placed it back where she found it. It was an easy find since Clarence had a full section that was all about his best friend.

While there, reading, sparring, and alchemy was how she spent her time in the last week of her suspension. Her and her friends kept in touch via Icarus and of course, her and Tany were on good terms since Tany accepted Sous' apology.

Sous walked out of the library and headed down the corridors to the front door. It was time to go back to school. She was nervous being introduced back to the student body and her roommates, but she apologized and Tany accepted so if anyone had a problem with her or them then it was a personal problem.

A gust of bats flew around Sous until revealing itself to be Clarence. "Are you ready, Child?"

Sous nodded her head. "Were you in love with her?"

Clarence raised an eyebrow, unsure of what Sous was referring to. While Sous was staying with him, he kept himself busy with his own matriach and children. Sous had never really met his children but that was mostly because they came out at night.

"Hacate?"

His eyes widen for a bit before he gave Sous a soft smile, something he rarely did. Sous followed his eyes although it seemed as if he drifted off to a land where he was content. He seemed to fancy women a lot. Sous thought back to his interaction with Shadow's mom.

He knelt down before Sous, "Come get on my back. Let's get going."

She was excited to be riding on his back. When Jacob got to do it, she was a bit jealous but here she was, seeing the scenery: the mountains, the fields, the lakes. Seeing all the villages and cities with flashing lights.

Mara stood in the front courtyard with the headmaster by her side. Clarence came down gently and allowed Sous to get off his back. With her head held high, she walked to the two adults. They nodded towards Clarence who disbursed into bats and flew off.

The three of them stood there silent with the headmaster not liking that Sous had her snake wrapped around her neck. There was also a raven he kept seeing around that he didn't like as well. Why so many students were ignoring the 'no pets' rule, he didn't know but he had it on his calendar to mention it during dinner one them weeks.

"You didn't bring anything with you?"

Sous shook her head.

To Sous' surprise, her roommates were all over her. Wanting to know what happened, whether or not Tany had did something to Sous. Sous had numerous sweat drops hovering over her. She shooed the girls away and ran out of the dorm room, slamming the door behind her. But the hallways weren't any better. Even more students flocked to her, especially first years who wanted her to teach them how to do the spell with hall monitors looking on as if daring Sous to mess up. She giggled nervously with her hands up to show she wasn't armed.

In the library was where she was able to find a little bit of solace. It was perfect since she wanted to find more of Hacate's diary. She wanted to read more like what happened after she killed the Alpha, did the hunters come for her? No, they couldn't since hunters only work in Nadia. Before she dived into any new book, she wanted to visit her friends especially Tany.

Tap, tap!

"Come in!"

Sous entered into the room. Tany got up from her desk and ran to Sous given her a hug. Realizing what she was doing and her image, she stepped back and flipped her hair. "I mean, its not like I missed you or anything."

"Hmm, hmm," Sous said smiling at her friend. Her eyes then went down to where she stabbed Tany. Their eyes met and Tany nodded her head. Sous felt the spot where the sword went through. "I'm so sorry, Tany..." she whispered.

"It was one accident. You just had some type of episode. Its okay but DON'T do it again!"

They hugged once more then left to go get dinner by meeting up with Jacob, Pixie Boy, Makala, Zan, and Randali. When Sous saw Makala, she remembered what she read regarding vampires from the diary.

"Makala, what spell do you use to interact in the day?"

"My mother had a witch perform a cloaking spell on us. Its a simple one that protects us from the sun."

"How long does it last?" Zan asked as the group sat down at their table for dinner.

"About a year."

The elf girl entered into the cafeteria searching for Sous. When she saw her, she stormed up to the young girl. Sous didn't notice her until her friends stopped talking around her. Sous turned to look behind her and saw the elf girl. A wide smile came across her face. "Elf Girl!"

The elf girl rolled her eyes. "I need a favor," she said to Sous.

"Nah, un uuunnnn! Only if I know your name."

She smacked her lips at Sous but gave it anyway. "Alana Aurora, Princess of Dimona."
