Speedy in Another Life: My Rebirth as Thea Queen

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: A New Beginning

Dean opened his eyes—or rather, Thea's eyes—to the sterile, bright lights of a hospital room. The world around him was blurry, his vision still adjusting to the limitations of a newborn's eyes. He felt small, fragile, and utterly dependent, but there was no panic, no confusion. He remembered everything: the Mall of Samsara, the choices he'd made, and the life he'd chosen. This was real. He was Thea Queen now, and he was ready.

The sound of voices reached his ears, muffled but familiar. He turned his head—or tried to—toward the source, catching glimpses of two figures leaning over him. One was a man with a strong jaw and kind eyes, the other a woman with an elegant presence and a soft smile. Robert and Moira Queen. His—no, *her*—parents.

"She's perfect," Robert said, his voice warm with pride as he gently lifted Thea from the bassinet and handed her to Moira.

Moira cradled her with a tenderness that made Thea's tiny heart flutter. "Meet your little sister, Oliver," she said, turning toward a small boy who stood beside her, his wide eyes filled with curiosity.

Oliver. Thea's gaze shifted to the boy, her new older brother. He looked so young, so innocent—nothing like the hardened vigilante he would one day become. Oliver reached out a small hand, his fingers brushing against Thea's tiny ones. She instinctively curled her hand around his, and he let out a soft laugh.

"She's so small," Oliver said, his voice filled with wonder.

Robert chuckled. "So were you when you were born."

Thea observed them all quietly, her mind already racing with plans. She had known this moment was coming, and she was ready. No shock, no disbelief—just a calm acceptance of her new reality. She was Thea Queen now, and she had a mission: to survive, to thrive, and to change the course of the Arrowverse for the better.

Moira's voice broke through her thoughts. "She's going to be extraordinary," she murmured, brushing a finger against Thea's cheek.

Thea couldn't help but agree. *Extraordinary* was the goal. She had the knowledge of her past life, the skills she'd retained, and the abilities she'd chosen in the Mall of Samsara. She was ready to make the most of this second chance.

As her family continued to fawn over her, Thea's mind turned to the future. She had time—years, in fact—before the worst of the Arrowverse's chaos would begin. But she wasn't going to waste it. She needed to prepare, train, and ensure that when the time came, she was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Oliver's voice pulled her back to the present. "I'm gonna protect her," he declared, his tone filled with childish determination.

Thea's heart warmed at the sentiment, even as her mind whispered a reminder of what was to come. *You'll need protecting too, Ollie,* she thought. *But don't worry. I'll be there for you.*

A nurse entered the room, clipboard in hand. "Mrs. Queen, everything looks good. Thea is healthy, and you can take her home soon."

Robert placed a reassuring hand on Moira's shoulder. "We'll make sure she has the best life possible."

Thea felt a surge of gratitude. Despite everything she knew about the Queen family's future—the secrets, the betrayals, the tragedies—she couldn't deny the love they had for her in this moment. It was a love she intended to protect, no matter what.

As her family continued to talk and laugh around her, Thea let her eyes drift shut. She was exhausted, the weight of her new reality settling over her like a warm blanket. There would be time for planning later. For now, she allowed herself to rest, secure in the knowledge that she was exactly where she was meant to be.

Thea's first year as a Queen passed in a blur of coos, cuddles, and the occasional bout of frustration at the limitations of her tiny body. She had expected the adjustment to be challenging, but she hadn't anticipated just how *boring* it would be to be a baby. She spent most of her time sleeping, eating, and observing the world around her with a sharp, calculating gaze that often made her parents remark on how "alert" she was for her age.

Sleep, however, was a revelation. In her past life, Dean had struggled with insomnia, constantly haunted by stress and the demands of a chaotic existence. But now, as Thea, she found herself drifting off effortlessly, lulled by the soft hum of the mansion and the warmth of her crib. It was a luxury she hadn't realized she'd been missing, and she embraced it wholeheartedly. Every nap felt like a gift, every night's sleep a small miracle.

By the time she was **nine months old**, Thea had mastered the art of crawling. It wasn't much, but it was a step toward independence—something she desperately craved. She used her newfound mobility to explore the Queen mansion, mapping out every room and memorizing the layout. It was a strange feeling, being so small in such a large space, but Thea was determined to make the most of it.

Oliver, now a lively seven-year-old, was her constant companion. He adored his little sister, often crawling alongside her and babbling excitedly about whatever caught his attention. Thea found his enthusiasm endearing, even if she couldn't respond in kind. She listened intently to his ramblings, storing away every detail for future reference. It was during these moments that she began to truly understand the bond they would share.

Thea's first steps came just after her **eleventh month**. She had been practicing in secret, using the furniture in the nursery to steady herself as she built up the strength in her legs. When she finally took those first unsteady steps across the room, it was to the sound of Oliver's excited cheers.

"Mom! Dad! Thea's walking!" he shouted, running out of the room to fetch their parents.

Thea grinned as she wobbled toward the center of the room. It wasn't much, but it was progress. She could feel the muscles in her legs growing stronger with each step, and she knew it wouldn't be long before she was running circles around the mansion.

Moira and Robert arrived moments later, their faces lighting up with pride as they watched their daughter take her first steps. Moira knelt down, holding out her arms. "Come here, sweetheart," she coaxed, her voice filled with encouragement.

Thea obliged, toddling toward her mother with a determined expression. When she finally reached Moira's arms, she was rewarded with a warm hug and a kiss on the forehead.

"Our little girl is growing up so fast," Robert said, his voice tinged with both pride and a hint of sadness.

Thea couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt. She knew the challenges that lay ahead for the Queen family, and she was determined to do everything in her power to protect them. But for now, she allowed herself to bask in the love and warmth of her family.

Later that night, as she lay in her crib, Thea let out a contented sigh. The day had been exhausting, but in the best possible way. She closed her eyes, savoring the feeling of her soft blanket and the gentle hum of the mansion around her. Sleep came easily, as it always did now, and she drifted off with a smile on her face.

By the time Thea was **two**, she had fully embraced her new life. She was walking, talking (albeit in simple sentences), and even starting to assert her independence. Her photographic memory and retained skills from her past life made her a quick learner, but she was careful not to let on just how advanced she was. To her family, she was a bright and precocious child—nothing more, nothing less.

Oliver, now nine, had started school, but he still made time for his little sister. He would come home with stories about his day, and Thea would listen intently, storing away every detail. She admired his energy and his kindness, even as she worried about the challenges he would face in the future.

One afternoon, Thea found herself in the Queen mansion's sprawling backyard, chasing after Oliver as he ran through the grass with a soccer ball. The sun was warm on her face, and the sound of her brother's laughter filled the air. It was a perfect moment, one that Thea knew she would cherish for years to come.

"Thea, catch!" Oliver called, kicking the ball in her direction.

Thea reached out, her small hands closing around the ball with surprising precision. She grinned up at her brother, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Got it!" she declared, her voice filled with pride.

Oliver laughed, running over to ruffle her hair. "You're getting good at this," he said, his tone filled with admiration.

Thea beamed, her heart swelling with affection for her older brother. She knew the challenges they would face in the future, but in that moment, she allowed herself to simply be a child, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

That night, as she lay in bed, Thea reflected on the day. She loved these moments with Oliver, but she also knew that she needed to start preparing for the future. Her regeneration ability and retained skills gave her an edge, but she couldn't afford to draw attention to herself. For now, she would play the part of a regular little girl—bright, curious, and full of potential, but nothing extraordinary.

**Author's Note:**

Hey everyone!

Thea's personality is loosely based on my own, so she's a pretty calm, nonchalant, and quiet person in public. She doesn't express much emotion outwardly, but with her friends and family, she's energetic, open, and loves to make jokes. She's also a romantic at heart and has a soft spot for heartfelt moments—but don't cross her, because she can hold a grudge like no one else.
