Spellbound Empire: Reincarnated in Balance

Chapter 2: Chapter 2

_7 Years After Rebirth_

"Yo, Laziel! Pass the ball already!" Nerath shouted, practically bouncing toward the goalpost. His pinkish eyes lit up like he was in some sports anime.

"Yeah, yeah, keep your socks on," I called back lazily, kicking the ball his way with just enough magic to make it spin like it was showing off. That's me right here~ Laziel Celestine is my name this time and in this life, I'm seven years old and already looking like I walked out of a fantasy magazine. Silver-white hair? Check. Sharp purple eyes? Double check. And let's not forget the pale-tanned skin that screams ^main character energy.^ The God and The Devil sure were being generous when sending me ay, I might become 50-50 again.

Oh also~, and did I mention the VIP family tree? Mom's a scientist at the International Intelligence Agency- basically, the brains behind this world's coolest gadgets. Name's Vespera Rosary, and she's got the whole ^mad scientist^ vibe without the crazy part. Dad? Head Wizard of the magic tower. Four magical powers under his belt, plus the hair of a shampoo model. His name's Caelum Celestine. Talk about genetic hacks, Thanks my man for giving me these looks.

Right now, I'm playing magic soccer with my classmates. Nerath, my best bud, is a lightning magic user. Deep blue hair, pink eyes, and a face that looks like he just stepped out of a K-drama. Poor guy doesn't get a scientific weapon yet because, well, we're still kids. Rules are rules- boring ones, but whatever.

Nerath waved a hand in front of my face, holding a water bottle in his other hand. "Yo, you good? You're zoning out"

I smirked. "Nah, just narrating your life for the readers"

"What readers?"

"Don't worry about it~" I snickered and clapped him on the shoulder. "Let's head home. Your mom's gonna flip if we're late again"

Life in this world? Not too shabby. Turns out, I've got fire and water magic- thanks, Dad. Not as flashy as his quadruple threat, but hey, baby steps.

When I got home, the usual warmth of the place hit me like a cozy fire spell. The scent of Mom's cooking filled the air. My stomach growled loud enough to scare the cat.

"Hey, Laziel! How was soccer practice?" Mom called from the kitchen, her glasses slightly askew as she stirred a pot like she was conjuring a potion.

"Crushed it," I said, puffing out my chest like I'd just won the World Cup.

"Nice. Now, go do your homework before dinner," she said, her tone making it clear she wasn't buying the act.

"On it!" I bolted upstairs. Spoiler alert: I wasn't actually on it.

Later that night, after inhaling dinner and half-listening to my parents talk about work, I slipped down to the family's secret training room. Yeah, we have one of those. Think 'superhero hideout meets wizard dungeon' Cool, right?

I stood in front of the giant mirror, flexing a bit. "Looking good, Laziel," I muttered to my reflection. Then, with a snap of my fingers, a small flame popped up, flickering like it was showing off. I followed it with a swirl of water, the two elements twisting around each other like they were trying to out-dance me.

As I was getting into the groove, the muffled sound of the TV reached my ears. I stopped, tilting my head. The news anchor's voice sounded serious- something about outer monsters attacking nearby towns. My heart did this weird mix of skipping a beat and racing all at once.

"Outer monsters, huh?" I grinned, feeling a spark of excitement. "Looks like my hero arc's about to begin."

Of course, I knew my parents would shut that idea down faster than I could say 'adventure.' But come on, how could I not check it out?

Back in my room, I started prepping. A bag with water, snacks, and my lucky magic trinket- check. I figured I'd wait until everyone was asleep before sneaking out.

Lying in bed, I stared at the ceiling, my mind racing. I pictured myself taking down a giant monster in one epic move, everyone cheering my name. Okay, maybe I was getting ahead of myself, but hey, dreaming big is part of the process.

"Tomorrow," I whispered, smirking at the ceiling. "Tomorrow, Laziel Celestine becomes a legend~"

Little did I know, tomorrow was going to be way crazier than I'd planned.
